The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

I know the title sounds like a corny made for TV ad, however it is simply true. I needed trim boards repaired on my home so I clicked on the HomeAdvisor link. I answered a few questions and got two great contacts. I picked one that was responsive and returned my calls the quick. The work was done to specification with an eye on details. Can't be happier... I thought it was going to be a mess. I was lost and did not know what to do, HomeAdvisor made it easy!
We needed a wheelchair ramp and got three estimates. The one Manny provided was by far the most detailed and although not the lowest it was very reasonably priced. The ramp is now complete and is perfect! The detailed drawing Manny provided helped with the HOA approval as well. I would recommend Manny the Handyman for any home repair!
Within one work week I got three references, got a visit from the one I eventually picked, canceled the other estimates, and had the job completed.
I contacted Home Advisor and they connected me to a person who could help!
The 2 projects I have done so far with home advisor has had quick responses from highly reviewed and reliable contractors. This has made my experience with a new home so much easier.
Excellent service and follow up. Thank you
Top Notch Moving is absolutely fantastic. I have moved many times in my career and David and his entire staff provided the most professional, caring and careful service I have ever had. They were patient from the very beginning giving me an extremely detailed and accurate quote for services. Their equipment blankets, trucks and tool were in impeccable condition. They carefully wrapped artwork and furniture. Not one item in the two 18-wheeler massive trucks was scratched or damaged.
They remained calm and meticulous throughout packing, loading and delivering and installing, rebuilding furniture artwork, beds, refrigerators, and more.
They even fixed a bookcase by reattaching the back before they wrapped it. They found a ring and handed it to me saying, this looks like it is very special.
Although unloading the last truck went late into the evening, Dave and his team maintained their careful and fastidious level of work. They even folded their superbly clean moving quilts into perfect squares before returning them to the trucks.
I highly recommend this extremely professional company. The quality, professionalism, and level of care they give their customers and their belongings is beyond all expectations. I am hiring Top Notch Movers again this month as we move full time to our river house.
Thank you, David for making our move so pleasant.
It is not worth it. They over charge for leads send them to 5-10 contractors. They make fake profiles and they won't give you a refund after you contact them. Don't waste your time. The worst decision you can make is sign up with them.
Searched on line. Got a referral. They showed up ready to work (a very big deal)! We cut a deal. Whole time experience, less than an hour!
Very pleased with the entire experience!
Home Advisor contacted me right away with a list of contractors in my area.
Home Advisor has never steered me wrong. All the contractors I have hired through the site have not let me down.
We always use homeadvisor for anything related to home improvement. We have gotten the best people for the best prices.
This company did a beautiful job in getting the repair completed properly. The find the right parts and spend the time to fix all the windows that needed repair.
Barry and Max were great. They were in and out within 1 hour and supplied the necessary parts to get our new TVs going
I started with a google search and home advisor was the one of the services that I looked at. I'm still a bit foggy about how it works but I was able to get the work done the same day by someone who did a great job. I don't think there is any way I would have found this company on my on.
Started off rough - with the first one - Home Advisor followed up and promptly provided us 3 more options.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
