I WROTE EXTENSIVE REVIEW on the request email from home advisor and I thought it would transfer. I will continue to use Arturo-he was prompt (offered multiple times to come) arrived early but stayed in his truck until he was sure we were ready. He then came and understood our problem, listened to both of our concerns, went to the store to obtain the part and then quickly repaired our water pressure gauge and capped off another pipe.
I did not realize he was a contractor-so as soon as we have organized our list of "todos" we will call him again.

Two recommendations and I had both bid. One was local and that's who I went with. He was excellent and reached out to me. It was so much easier than just calling companies. Also, he was much cheaper.
I trusted the plumber that contacted me through HomeAdvisor. Mistake I was scammed out of $175 from Cass Plumbing Tampa, Fl. Diagnostic fee. I called because I had a leak & asked for a new shower value replacement & I already had the valve. Free estimates not true your charged the $175 fee for them to tell you what you already know. Then a ridiculous quote of $400-$500 to fix. The entire original shower plumbing install wasn't that much. Can't trust HomeAdvisor anymore & you shouldn't either.
Here's my awful experience.
- I booked a handyman to install a couple of bathroom sink faucets three days in advance. He cancelled two hours before the booking time and the best HomeAdvisor could do initially is send someone else out 4 days later.
- After 45 minutes on the phone with customer service, they booked another handyman for Monday. As it turned out, the fellow that showed up admitted that he really didn't know much about plumbing and was not able to complete the job.
- They then recommended a plumbing company who showed up on Wednesday and they wanted $1100 to do the job or $400 an hour!
I live in suburban Philadelphia, not New York City, so the location is not a cost factor.
I received the name of a great local contractor to replace my old fence.
So professional and unbelievably quick, other tree services said 3 to 4 weeks or 12 weeks or more, no way the dead tree was dangerous and limbs were falling, my son missed a dead limb 15'long by 10"in diameter. I got the estimate on 11/6/20 and they were here on 11/11/20, they worked in the rain and it was amazing it took 2 hours for a large dead maple tree to be cut to the ground and cleaned up.The crew was professional and kind.

Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
