The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

I was so frustrated at trying to find a trustworthy handyman. I have been ripped off twice by felons, druggie. As the process started, I began to trust and allow a few contractors to give me estimates. I was so pleased with the two different guys I hired for two different projects.
Needed a reliable plumber to change the shower head set, Jay did a fantastic job! He even went the extra mile to change the valve and add a filter. Excellent work! Thank you!

I had a window leak, I found and ad for Home Advisor. I contacted and they sent out a contractor he arrived on time did what he thought was the problem it rain and it was still leaking so i contacted Home Advisor again they sent out a second contractor JASON T he was a little late. He listened to my concern and understood what i was saying. He got right to work. It has rain and no more leaks I will definitely use them again and would highly recommend Jason T. For handyman jobs!
Very pleasant easy to talk to. Good quality work. Would recommend to friends and neighbors
Great selection of contractors to choose from. Will be using them for my next project.
I have used home advisor several times and had excellent success in finding professional help!
Home Advisors spends a lot on advertising as you see everywhere. And like much advertising they are very misleading and scammy. They lead you to believe they are handpicking trusted and solid contractors for your job.
Nothing could be further from the truth. They are simply doing some kind of background checks on them and requiring certain things from them, but there is no assurance on the quality of work you will get. None.
My experience was a nightmare. I dealt with at least three of their contractors and chose one because he came across professionally, had some references and a great price and timeline for my flooring project, tile.
From that point on the wheels came off rather quickly. The 10 day job turned into 2-1/2 months. They showed up at odd hours including evening. And the work quality was so bad I ended up with washboard floor in one room because they rushed to finish and did not let the tile set before grouting.
When the problems were referred to Home Advisors their response was gee they had just been signed 3 months previous so we did not know much about them. They had no recourse against them because the contractor quit their membership. So folks you are completely on your own in using these people. Home Advisors is just in business to collect lead fees from the contractors and could care less about the quality of work you receive. There is nothing special or good about these contractors just because they came through Home Adivsors. A shameful company.
HomeAdvisor provide a big help to find a contractor to do repair work for my home. I was nervous of to find a reliable contractor. HomeAdvisor helps ease to some extend for the anxiety.
I am happy with everything I ever needed. I always like using Home Advisor. I had my freezer repaired.
Showed up on schedule and completed job in 3 days.
It took a long time to find someone to do this job. HomeAdvisor was diligent to find someone for me and finally did. I am quite pleased with their efforts.
I had a wonderful experience with Dove Express Carpet Cleaning. Fast, efficient and reasonable cost.
Needed yard work and clean up. Best company ever was found through home advisor.
We were a few days late giving them our updated insurance requirements even though we had proof it never lapsed they forced us to fork over hundreds of dollars before removing the hold on our account.

I had issues that really needed someone that would be honest and give me options while considering the costs.
My experience was very good. I had very good response from the time I inquired about the service I received
HomeAdvisor was a great easy to use tool to find a reputable business.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
