The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

I was able to find right away within just a 1/2 of a minute, professional cleaner to come and clean my house! Thank you!
Home advisor did not give up when it seemed that the project was not going to be completed. They provided alternative service. That was appreciated
Easy and pleasant, they clean up after themselves.
Very well addressed as to what I needed. Too much to fill out and too many emails afterwards. Finally had to unsubscribe to stop the flow of emails.
We were looking for a plumber to help us with a couple of projects. We hit the jackpot. Chris, from Hardie Enterprises, showed up at our door and set about fixing our issues. He was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and explained problems and options for repair to us. We'll never call any plumber but Chris again.
Excellent. Extremely happy with the professionalism and workmanship of Jon the Builder.
Awesome. The Home Advisor contractor was knowledgeable and thorough
I hired a Home Advisor "Pro" yesterday for a project on my home... It was a terrible experience, as the person was at my house for 6 hours (thankfully the work was on the exterior of the home, hanging Christmas lights). I 've done this job myself over the past few year, an it is a only a 2.5 - 3 hour project. After 6 hours, of him arguing with his wife (who as he said had to come due to his driver's license being suspended), the two of them swearing profanities, discussing and I how the husband might drive an hour away to get a "FIX" and leave the wife here. Which blow my mind because they know we have outside cameras that record sound and picture (as I found it unusual when they pulled into my driveway that this was one of the first items they commented on when they looked over the house). After 6 hours, and only about 30 actual minutes of work being completed... they disappeared. It was dark now, and cold, so I expected that they just went home, or off to find that "FIX"... 45 minutes later I found myself putting up my own Christmas light (in the dark)... and as I nearly completed the work myself, the druggie dual return. Of course I sent them on their way. This morning I called the "Home Advisor Happiness Guarantee" department of their company. Only to find out that Home Advisor does not guarantee that individuals arriving have a contractors license, they don't guarantee that the person has experience with the project they are hired for, they will not share with you the person contact data (just first name and last initial only). Thank god this guy never actual had the opportunity to fall from the roof or I am sure that I would see the legal bills for that. Please do not hire from this organization, you are putting your personal property, home, family, and more in jeopardy for taking a chance with them.
Good recommendations for Contractors. However, one Contractor didn't work out because he couldn't do the work as promised and caused over a month of delay. Second Contractor was great.
I did have some contractors contact me with cheaper bids, but offered fewer services and wanted me to handle the permits.
I had some contractors contact me weeks or months later.
That being said, I did find a good reliable contractor that met both my needs, price point, and handled permits needed for the project.
Phone calls from professionals started coming in within 30 minutes of me filling out the request on HomeAdvisor. I had contacted a few contractors on my own, but ultimately the ones that Home Advisor connnected me with were the right professionals for my job.
My husband and I have a handyman/cleaning business. We work for all of the local real estate companies as well as private individuals. I was informed about Homeadvisor from. A friend and we decided to look into it. The first representative I spoke with (and greatly wished I had not) was Angela. I should have seem that the number of times this woman called/texted me was a bad sign. I however chalked it up to good customer service. Literally 15-20 times a day she called/texted wanting to finish setting up.our pro account, submit.our annual payment, etc. After 1 week we had received 2 leads. 1 was before I even had a chance to finish setting up our profile and our locations. So the lead ended up being over 100 miles away, a simple carpet cleaning job and the lead charge was 20$! Got that canceled and credited back but we decided in that 1 week that this harassing, overpriced charges were not for us. Then came the fun experience of trying to cancel our membership and get our annual fee refunded (which was almost 300$) Angela literally BEGGED me not to cancel. She then proceeded to call us unprofessional. I blocked her number and did not speak to her again but I swear I have the texts as proof. It took 4 days and 6 representatives to finally get canceled and the refund approved, which ended up taking over a month to post back on our account. I even canceled my debt card/ordered a new one after the refund posted. 4 months later, I still get calls almost daily from Homeadvisor and my email? I have "unsubscribed" from them probably 50 times. My email is chaulk full of their emails daily which is a huge pain since we do use email alot with clients. Absolutely horrible company. Fake leads, over priced, EXTREMELY HARASSING REPRESENTATIVES. Do not waste your time, money or sanity with these crooks.

Very pleasant and understanding. Willing to get the job done no matter the obstacle
HomeAdvisor's questionnaire guided us to the right professional, who gave excellent service and value.
I always use Homeadvisor for recommendations when needing work done at our winter home since we aren't familiar with most of the local businesses. They never fail to suggest dependable competent vendors who we can trust and easily work with to complete the work in a timely fashion with excellent results.
Fast easy and very pleased with the service. I wish I had not waited so long.
A bit confusing as it gave me two but at different times
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
