My experience for a first time user of any contractor service is one of the most fulfilling a home owner could have. I recieved more than a roof. I have a lifetime friendship with a man who stands behind his work, crew, and materials.
Two providers responded to my request. One was trying to sell me more than I needed, but Sienna Roofing was the right company.

I filled out a quick inquiry screen to request information from a "Jensen Brothers Landscaping" in Sussex County, Delaware. Perhaps I did not read the screen thoroughly, but I don't recall an mention of Home Advisor, or that this inquiry would result in "jobbing out" the project to multiple contractors. I was deluged with phone calls.
I have always liked Home Advisor, but if this is the degree to which they will stoop to solicit business, then I'll go elsewhere in the future. If I am wrong, show me how I could have possibly misconstrued the interaction, and I will retract my comments.
I have always had a good experience using Home Advisor. I prefer it to Angie's List.
I have only used Angie's list and this was my first time with Home Advisor. Thus, I cannot judge more than my one experience which was pleasantly surprising and overall great. I received a call from a provider next day after my request and they had availability within a week with flexible hours.
Easy to access location relevant resources. No spam call after either.

HomeAdvisor is a scam. It is a very bad company. They are forcing "leads" on you and charging your credit card before you even accept the lead. They have charged me about $1000. 00 in a month and I got ZERO clients from them. They connect irrelevant leads to you to charge your credit card continuously and its not easy to get the refund for bad leads. Even If you get the refund, they keep it as a credit on your HomeAdvisor account and not return it to your credit card. They have the worst customer service. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!

The times I needed help with home repair this company was wonderful. I'm a 77 year old retiree. HomeAdvisor put me in touch with professionals that did excellent work. First Tektronics for my surround sound and TVs. Next Get Coatal Exteriors for my roof, and last Benjamine Franklyn Plumbing for my sink and faucet.
Very positive I used this site and another but selected one of the firms recommended to me by HomeAdvisor. I am very pleased with the whole process
