I have been trying to get my regular fuel oil provider to come to my house since last August. After their second, no call, no show missed appointment I decided to get someone else. Home Advisor immediately provided a suggested repair company with a couple others in reserve. I liked that they didn't make me set up an account - I could search and get results immediately as well as schedule the service. Their suggested repair company was available in two days, the job is done and I'm happy with their service. HomeAdvisor is now in my favorites in my internet browser and I will use them again.

Very pleasant experience. We are from the desert. What we thought were bushes and trees turned out to be vines. Big gnarly vines. The project would have been done in about 5 hours but because of the wind we were not allowed to burn
The crew returned the next day and got a wood chipper to grind up the limbs and vines and burned only what couldn't be grounded

My area was hit hard by a blizzard on 2/1/21 that went on all day and night. I was out of town and called HomeAdvisor at 6:00 pm 2/1/21 and set up a contractor to plow my long somewhat steep driveway before I got there. The appointment was booked to be plowed on 2/2/21 by 10:00 am and paid by charge card. All set, or so I thought.
I arrived home at 3:06 pm only to discover the driveway not plowed and I couldn't get in. HomeAdvisor nor contractor notified me via text, message, phone call but they took my credit card payment, and now I have to wait 5-7 business days for HomeAdvisor to process my refund for work they never did. It doesn't get anymore unprofessional than that.
I heard that Home Advisor had a good reputation and I felt comfortable utilizing them rather then randomly looking for someone on Craig's List. I also knew that I could follow up with Home Advisor if there was any issue!

I had a very good experience with home advisor. The only issue I had was: after the question was asked about wanting a flat rate was asked (I said no) I wanted to go back to see what the flat rate was. The rep said she could not go back to retrieve that information. Seems odd.
