I had a great first experience with Mr. Electric. The second job that was did which is my ceiling was double booked somehow. I was able to link up with Pro Garage Doors & Handyman Services. They did the ceiling in my son's room. They did a good job considering I butchered the scraping and they had to fix the mistakes I made. I encourage folks to hire them. Also, Home Advisor made the process of canceling one of the work orders and just letting me pay Del and his crew directly. It was an easy fix which made me thankful!
This is the first time using HomeAdvisor. We were given 3 contractors to contact. We only heard from one who we called, left a message and he called us back - we hired him. It was a little confusing on the website about how the contractors would contact us. The website asked us to set an appointment time - don't think that step is necessary because we have to arrange that with the contractor. Good to let the contractor know if the job needs to be done right away though. I would use HomeAdvisor again.

Called Fresh Paint, they cane out in a couple of hours. Did a great job shoveling our walks and steps outside our house.
Planning and execution of the job was done well, they showed up on time, finished ahead of schedule. Paid attention to detail and cleaned up at the end of the day! They were considerate of the other people working in the area. A real pleasure to work with. Will rehire.
Looked for a stormdoor repair service which Home Advisor recommended a handful along with an appointment date but not one made contact and then another contacted me via email after the requested appointment date.
I used homeadvisor to get a tile floor fixed. The were 6 tiles that had become loose and they need to be rebonded. I paid 180.00 up front to get it fixed. The pro that they said they were sending ended up being a different person. He came with no tools of his own so I had to by the tools he needed to fix the problem. After he was halfway into the job he stated this was only the 3rd time he was doing this type of job. The tiles didn't bond right and I had to redo them again. I asked for my money back and all I got was a credit for the next job I call them for. I told them I would not use them again and wanted a full refund on my credit card. They would not do it. I would not recommend using this site. In the pictures you will see the sorry work done. That is me redoing the mess he made. If you look at the upside down tile you will see the the way he put down the cement in circles instead of laying it across the whole sub floor. He also used grout instead of cement and it didn't work. If that's what they call sending a professional, we see for yourself.
Very useful! I found a provider for my gutters right away. Met contractor and got an estimate on the job right away. It was banged out within the timeframe I requested. Brilliant!
Home advisor called us with a Reno contractor suggestion. Said company was highly rated. The one I wanted they said was not available but that the one they gave us was just as good. Contractor was mediocre at best. And expensive. No real on-site job management at all. If we weren't actually in the house living through the 1st floor reno project nothing would have been done right. No plans were ever drawn out other than kitchen cabinets and those were inaccurate. Ask around to people you know. Don't use home advisor.

Great. Got a few quotes, picked the lowest one. Green Planet did a good job. Home Advidor also blast a bunch of folks your way, so be ready for the calls. Once you sort through them, you have what you need. Home Advision does cut down on finding folks for your project.
Chris Kelso of Prestige concrete was very punctual and his company did a great job planning our new patio. Very friendly and cleaned up when the job was completed. Giving the team 5 stars and do recommend then. Very satisfied customer. Thank you Mr. Kelso. 2/1/21
Second time I've used this service to get a contractor to perform work. Both times I was pleased with the service!
This firm was one that HomeAdvisor put on a list and also our neighbors used Your My Home Garage Doors.
Highly recommend. Reasonable price, efficient, knowledgeable and courteous.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
