The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

Just amazing! I entered my information and within 30 minutes I had a plumber scheduled to install the part (previously purchased) for my hot water heater. Bob, from Tulsa Plumbing Repair, replaced the part in a timely manner and the price was reasonable. I will definitely use Home Advisor again and Tulsa Plumbing Repair will be my ‘go to' plumber for any future plumbing problems.
Within a very short time after I posted our request for a plumber; an experienced plumber called, came to evaluate the job, and was hired. He did the job we needed, and we were very satisfied. Highly recommend the contractor, and HomeAdvisor.
Completely satisfied with friendly service that I would highly recommended
My experience was stress free and the service fee didn't give me a heart attack.
Lost hot water the day of worst winter weather in 20 years. Called 3 companies, only one showed up and took care of our problem.
Tim from T&S called and setup an appointment. Everything went smooth from start to finish.
Replacement of a very old boiler during a cold spell. After the new boiler was installed, my home is very comfortable even though the temperature has been in the negatives.
I have been with home advisor for 5 years. In the beginning I was getting way too many leads for the business that I had and was paying a lot of money for little benefit. I managed to pare the money down by changing my services offered and turning my leads off when not needed. I learned early that leads could be sent to multiple Home Advisor pros thus gaining HA a lot of income for one lead. I also noticed that a home owner could click on any type of service then put a different description that was out of scope in and I would get charged. Example: Homeowner clicks for a general repair then writes that they want a 200 amp electrical panel replaced. HA never does a QA on these leads to confirm that the comments match job description.
Recently, I had my paused leads come back on and was charged $74.08 for one lead. It was also matched to one other Pro so they are going to earn $144.16. It takes calling and complaining and threatening to leave to get leads like this removed or reduced. If you call the general help line you get the typical help line service that says they are sorry but can't do anything for you. Once you ask to cancel your membership you are sent to a "supervisor" who then will credit your account, offer you free leads, etc.
Bottom Line:
1. Leads are not free! It is charged to the Pro and then charged back to the homeowner in the price of the job.
2. This company is skimming a lot of contractors by charging multiple times for the same lead and banking that if they charge, it will get paid.
I rate them on the low end of the scale for business ethics!
He is on time work is done neatly his price is reasonable he is commutable to talk with he is a nice person
My Advisor Cali was very helpful, I joined the membership - a great value for $20 a year. It used to be hard to find qualified contractors, now it is much easier to get work done. We got so much work done with HomeAdvisor over the years
Excellent in all respects. Timely callbacks. The contractor did a GREAT job. He showed up on time every day, he was most pleasant, respectful of my home and property, used the best materials and cleaned up thouroughly when finished. I would recommend him to anyone in need of a Painting contractor.
An excellent overall experience. Priced reasonable safety conscious I'm very friendly
The service technician was on time And he explained everything to us after the furnace was clean Very satisfied
I had a blocked sewer main. I had talked with a local plumbing firm. They have a good reputation, but are costly. I was looking tfor a second opinion, using Angie's List when I got a call from Aaron Plumbing, who had seen my post. They arrived, immediately understood the scope of the problem, and said they could do the job for half of my first quote. I told them I did not want inferior work, and they assured me that would not happen. They were right. They did excellent work and guaranteed it. Home owners don't know how to find skilled workers when they have problems. I have used Home Advisor several times in the last few years, and in almost every case (except one), I have been totally pleased with the referrals and the outcome. I'm a fan!
Very good, excellent work. He explained everything along the way! Professional.
Home Advisor provided several painting contractors to consider for our painting project. Services recommended led to our selecting one of them. The company we selected provided a great experience that was very professional, great price, and excellent results.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
