The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

Was a great experience. Recommended highly. 5 stars!
Process is easy and simple, HA walks you through it step by step.
I've been a customer for many years and always rely on their list of recommended vendors for any of my home projects.
Great service so far. I am happy this service is available
Excellent experience, would use home advisor again.
Was able to analyze reviews and applicants and make an informed decision immediately!
This was my first experience with HomeAdvisor. I entered information on the work I was requesting and within 30 minutes had been contacted by most of the companies they recommended. I was able to schedule home visits to obtain estimates and finalize my decision quickly. I was very happy with the company I selected. I found the entire experience to be stress-free. I will use HomeAdvisor again when the need arises.
I had several replies to my email request, and one company was able to come out same day and make the repair.
I needed a cement pool deck / patio replaced and contacted Home Advisor. I went down the fixed price rabbit hole where they throw a job quote out there and contractors "bid" for it. This would probably work for basic tasks like painting a room, etc. But when I looked at the fixed price, even a lay person like me could see that there was no way anyone would bid for that price. I was right, but only after I had committed to the fixed price. So came the emails/phone calls till I was told about the contractor reference and got my money refunded. Would have been nice if a qualified person would have reviewed the task and determined that there was no way it would be a such a low fixed price. BTW, when I submitted my task, there was no option to download pictures of the project - which I would think would be important.
This company is the biggest bunch of scammers. When I signed up I was told there would be no charges unless I got the job. Then within 2 weeks I was charged over 700 dollars! When I called to get a refund and cancel they said no. I told them what I was told and it was all recorded by them and they still would not give me back one cent. I had to cancel my credit card because even after I canceled with them they still were charging me. It was a total scam!
Needed gate plating and hinge metal work. I was sent recommdations and reached out to a business on the list. Very fair pricing and the workmanship was top notch.
I appreciate this service because there are reviews. I don't choose solely on price but on other client reviews. The response is quick and the follow-up from Homeadvisor is thorough.
Whenever I contacted Home Advisor, I got different information from the different agents. I found many communications issues in relation to how they actually work for a customer seeking out professional contractors for job requests. The contractors I utilized were excellent, but I can't give that rating to Home Advisor representatives. They fall into a category of the right hand not connecting to the same body as the left hand. I wish they change their systems of communications when hooking up customers with contractor providing the actual services.

They connected us with professional help quickly and we got service very quickly.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
