This is the first time I've used Home Advisor. We didn't know who to call that was trustworthy to repair our water softener. I called a couple of places BEFORE coming to Home Advisor. The prices I was quoted were outrageous. That's when I found Angie's List and Home Advisor.
I filled out the website information and within an hour I had two calls for the repair. I am so grateful Home Advisor was there to help. This is a much needed website. I will choose it again the next time I need another service.

It was not good. When I called Home Advisor they confused me with a deposit of $19,95 that was required. I said no, and had the poor girl totally confused, and I was angry because I had spent a week trying to get someone out here to replace the pump. After I hung up, the girl called, the Sprinkler company and gave them the information, and 10 minutes I has the office manager (his aunt) on the phone getting everything set up for the next day, so your girl took the the lead and called the plumber and gave them the information and saved a sale for everyone, and made me very happy. Good Job, Everyone.
This company is a fraud for people who want to work well as a company. I say it because I never had access to clients and they followed me. Charging money to owe them 1060 dollars and that's why they send me to the credit bureau but I'm not going to pay them and I'm going to sue
Log Work and Design did great work on my pine floor. There was no sealant nor any shine on the floor at all. The floor was sanded and stained in one day, then sealed for the next two days. It looks amazing now, looks like a brand new floor.

I have used Home Advisor for 5 years and have always been able to find an excellent contractor to help.
Their website is easy to use and I get responses immediately.
The HomeAdvisor team was very helpful. They followed up to ensure that I was receiving the service I requested.
I was looking for a handyman to do some sheetrock work. I started to answer questions online about the project and when it looked like I was going to hire Home Advisor to do the job, I stopped. I had no idea how long the project would take. I put in my credit card information for either Angie's list or Home Advisor to get a discount on jobs. Then I went to the area where they help estimate the job, I thought. I chose 8 hours of work but I figured it would be much longer than that. The estimator stops at 8 or 10 (I forget). I stopped the process and called Home Advisor for a few referrals. The next thing I know I'm getting a call from someone giving me the price for materials (which is extra). Later I check my credit card and I'm being charged $237 for the repairs (which is much too little for all the work--the $237 charge was for 3 hours!). I call Home Advisor and I'm told that I can only get a refund for half of the amount even though I had no intention of hiring anyone. It will be $87/hour after the 3 hours and that can really add up. The reason they gave me for refunding only half back is that they compensate the contractor for going out to see what materials he needs to charge me extra for. Fair enough, except that when I decide to go ahead, the new person, who was sent out from the Handyman site, tells me he is going to get $87 for the whole job (Home Advisor takes a cut, then Handyman takes their cut). So if this guy gets $50, much less $110, from Home Advisor for coming to evaluate the job, I'd be shocked. (I talked to one of their referrals who says he is no longer with Home Advisor because they charge $20 - $150 [depending on the service] to go out on a bid and he has a client base so he doesn't need their referrals. That is a different process from going through Home Advisor for the handyman work.) Home Advisor is a rip off for you and the contractor you choose and even more so if you use contract the work. Use reviews from this site, Yelp or Google or anyone else!
BTW Angie's list is owned by the same company so beware.
They do follow-up with a phone call.
PS It ended up taking a lot more than 3 hours, as I had anticipated, so, at $87/hr, I would probably have paid more than what the handyman I hired and I agreed to. But it least the guy I hired to do the work was well compensated and took the time to do a good job.

We had tree trimming done today. We were extremely satisfied. We are looking to get exterior painting and a new patio cover addition
We want bids to remodel our kitchen also. We are trying to figure out what we can get accomplished with what we have been saving.
I had difficulty with the form and I did not finish it. Within a few minutes I got a call back asking if I needed help. I explained what I needed done and he obtained enough information to be able to suggest companies that would fit. I contacted each of hem, each came out and gave me a bid and we choose one.
