The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

When I first discovered HomeAdvisor a few years ago, I was pleased. I felt comfortable using the site right away. After hiring my first contractor from HomeAdvisor, I grew even more relaxed. The quality of the contractors was very impressive. And I've been returning to HomeAdvisor to find various contractors and do price-comparisons ever since.
Home Advisor was great! You get a large pool of experienced professionals to choose from.
I have had a pro account with thus company for two years now. I have to say it is the most expensive lead source on the market no doubt.
You will get a ton of people that will waste your with no intent to hire which will bring your cost of service through the roof. Be prepared to spend at least $600 a month on leads that will not even return your calls. My average lead is $40! The worst part about it is their customer service is terrible! Good luck on getting any credits back for pointless leads. They never issue credits and are jerks over the phone.
You are much better off using other lead sources like facebook, next door, google ads, and even hiring a company to manage your google ads. All of these combined services would still be cheaper thsn home advisor and their garbage leads and poor customer service.
Another thing I hate about using their service is if and when I do get through to a customer home advisor sends the same lead to sometimes 5 or more other professionals that compeye against you for price. It is bard to even close a job with a customer when you do get the opportunity to estimate jobs.
DONT USE THIS SERVICE. FINANCIALLY IT WILL RUIN YOUR PROFITABILITY.
Efficient, reliable, and friendly; the person who answered the phone sounded sympathetic to homeowner.
They gave us several options and quotes to choose from. We are happy with the job that was done.
Extremely fast. I was able to find someone to meet my needs and get the job in a few days.
I hired Atlantic Business Solutions for an outside home improvement repair. The repair person named Tommy called me the night before and I explained to him what I needed to be done. He told me that he would pick up the parts I needed and would be over the next day.
The next day he looked over the job and quoted the price, which took me by surprise at how reasonable the price was. He completed the work which did take a little longer than I expected. The reason being is because he is a perfectionist and made sure the job is completely done right. I was surprised that I was not charged any extra money.
I told him that he is an honest man and does excellent workmanship. I also told him that I have dealt with home improvement people in the past that were dishonest with the price and did poor work. I asked Tommy for his business card and I know that in the future I will call his company Atlantic Business Solutions and I will recommend him.
I logged on to simply research reviews and indicated I was not ready to start my project and was extremely disappointed that this research immediately triggered phone calls, very persistent phone calls over multiple days from prospective vendors.
I used a different site HomeGuide thinking it was HomeAdvisor. I hired a company that I thought was reputable and would do the job. Boy was I wrong! When I had a colossal mess on my hands, I went back to the drawing board and called Home Advisor. Not only did I get the right agency but I found a fantastic company to help me with the job and they completed it the next day! I have found a few more great companies to do more projects and I have been impressed with the quality of the companies that are available through HomeAdvisor.
BLD was very polite, professional, prompt and did the job efficiently.
I'd hire them again.
Quick response to estimate and completed job on time
Chris Sixkiller dealt with me over the phone. I measured my vinyl floor in my art studio. Described all the paint droppings on the floor and he gave me a price. He clearly stated it could be less or a little more depending on the amount of work. He is a man who knows his trade. He understands flooring and how to care for it. I learned a lot. We chatted personally. He is a man of strong integrity. He believes in a job being done right. I will call him again. All of his reviews are great.
HomeAdvisor once again came to the rescue. Mine was a very small less than one hour job and they paired me up with someone who could do it.
Excellent work! Very professional and respectful.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
