I could tell HomeAdvisor had a difficult time finding the right glass contractors to install a frameless Dreamline shower enclosure as they initially provided two. One of the contractors refused to install a DreamLine enclosure and the other contractor was recently awarded a contract to install shower doors at a hotel chain. It took another two weeks before I received two more contractors that were available for an estimate.
My experience with the HomeAdvisor help desk was complicated and frustrating. HomeAdvisor sold me a package to install a shower enclosure rather quickly, but the receipt I received via email stated the install was for an exterior door. I'm not sure how that happened, but I got my money back in a couple of days. That said, if it wasn't for HomeAdvisor, I would never have found Fisher Glass.
I'm putting my house up for sale soon and the power washing of my outdoor concrete areas really makes it look new. I would use Choice Home again most definitely.
I should use Home Advisor a long time ago instead of wasting my time to call around myself with a lot of frustration and ridiculously high proposed quotes in the ends. Not to mention the inferior works with no warranties.

Home advisor was helpful in listing many options for contractors for my project. However they did keep coming back to me to see if I wanted more names which was a bit tiring.

Pro's DO NOT JOIN don't waste your money or time. Pro's are getting charged at ridiculous amounts pro's pay $400 + to join then charge $10-100 a lead. Home advisor will send 5-20 leads a day and they will send the leads to 3 other pro's to the customers home that they charged you for. I received a bill of $700 on a month I did not land any jobs.

HA sends a lot of emails trying to sell you services. Hard sell for services not related to your project.
Hired a plumber through HomeAdvisor - I was expecting a licensed professional to show up. Who showed up was a guy in a pickup truck that was in no way a licensed professional (he was a very nice man though) and tried to install a garbage disposal without any trap - just straight pipe from disposal into the main pipe - sewer gases were able to just come straight in... I had to show him what to do to fix it. He then used flexible pipe to make it work - I will have to hire someone else to redo it correctly so it doesn't look like it was done by someone who had no clue on what they were doing.

When I first signed up with home advisor, things were great I was getting work and while the lead fees were on the high side I was seeing a return. Over the past few months, it's gotten terrible. Home Advisor is leading the customers to expect a price that is not profitable with the cost of the leads. I will no longer use home advisor nor will I EVER recommend the service to other pros. Only geared to the shopper looking for the lowest bid and not for the best service and quality of work.

Pleasantly surprised had 5 companies contact me. They were all here at the time they said they would be.

Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
