The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

I was provided a service repairman who was professional as well as knowledgeable in his trade. He did not try to undermine me nor over charge me.
This was such a great experience for me. The sales contact was not pushy and very friendly. They called me immediately and had my install done with 5 days and it only took 6 hours. They valued my time which was very important to me.
It was good n the job was done well And would use them again. And the price was very affordable as well no would reference this company to my family n friends
The positive experience with Home Advisor is they put me in contact with pros from whom I had successful and rewarding project completion. This includes categories of Kitchen Remodeling and Design, Roofing, Popcorn ceiling removal, Bathroom Remodeling and Design. However, the Home Advisor experience comes with frustrations and annoyances. Here are examples: when I trying to use Home Advisor to get a list of potential providers in my area I cannot without placing a request for quotes. Then, I get 3 contacts provided. This is an issue for me because I get contacted by the pros even if I am only looking for information. Also, some of the pros don't respond so my effective list may be smaller than 3. Securing the services of every pro involved a lot more initiative and effort on my part than I expected would be necessary. I think part of the issue is I did not find I could be granular in stating my requirements and interest. And some respondents fit the category but not my project particulars. Then, Home Advisor auto generates emails to me seeking input on my activities. On two of the projects it took more than a month to complete and more than 3 months from initial contact to completion. I feel if a customer does not follow a logical customer / contractor communication and decision process the likely end result for the customer is dissatisfaction. As Home Advisor evolves to be more computer driven, I find my response to what it offers is getting less positive.
The deep freezer removal it started off with contact by phone it was fast and professional, date for pick was fast very accommodating, and pickup was professional 6ft apart and wearing of masking very friendly will be doing business again in the future.
It was quick and easy. Took the fourth quote. Once I got it scheduled I only got two more calls from contractors but they were nice. Will use it again for future endeavors.
Excellent! White Tide Powerwashing did a great job on driveway after a diesel truck fire and was able to get it cleaned up and debris taken away so not to harm my dogs or track in house.
First time I have used Home Adviser and for sure will not be the last time. They put me in contact with Dr Roofing and Restorations, Darren came out to take care of our roofing leak and I was more that satisfied with Darren and his company.
I had a great experience. The repairmen showed up on time, and was honest about what was needed to complete the process.
This online service led me in the right direction with contractor ratings and reviews that were helpful with this and future projects.
I rcv'd a call almost immediately and after questioning the cost of my repair, I went into contract and the work was completed within 2 hours of initial contact. I rcv'd calls throughout the day from other companies up until early evening but I needed the job done immediately. The company that came out was very fairly priced.
Amazing service. Water heater leaked on thurs. The Plumber came on friday advised it couldn't be fixed Monday a new water heater was installed. Very professional service Brian was amazing 2hrs and my new water heater was in. Polite friendly and great service.
Very nice, followed up and got me in touch with a company that got the job done.
I asked for a jobber who could give me a roof inspection prior to the sale of my home. An hour after my email query Don Jeffus called and asked if he could do my roof inspection. I told him yes and was prepared to be pressured to have me spend a lot of money to his company to assure its good condition. Instead he showed me photographs of some concerning conditions and explained how I could personally make the repairs and the product to use. Then he sent me a very professional report with photographs that I can use to show my roof's condition to potential buyers of my home. Wonderful experience!
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
