The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

Home Advisor gave me the name of N & N Services to power wash and paint my deck. I was very happy with the work that they performed. They are an excellent company!
Been with them since 2012. Leads were good closed 85% of them. Then as time goes on leads go out to more people cost of leads doubled. More people just shopping not real people or bogus. Now they are turning away people cause us contractors have had enough and cancelled this messed up co. Nextdoor and subdivision private Facebook pages best going and it's free. Glad I'm done with them.
I got a roofing company on here…. A1 roofing and construction…The guy's name is Brian Osinger…he scammed me of $1,000 to get my new roof started but he never showed up after he got paid, he keeps telling me new stories now he has even blocked me from contacting him…And Home Advisor is not even helping …i think they know of the scam. Becareful people
Very capable and knowledgeable All aspects of the work being performed was good and neat and after all the work was finished the clean-up afterword was thorough and clean as before his job was started.
It was a great experience and being a first timer on this site I was a bit worried the tech was pleasant and his explanation of every step to what they were doing put us at ease truly satisfied with the service
I was given two companies. One of them C & J showed up within the day to discuss what I wanted/needed to be done. The second companies did not even return my phone call nor did they call me. I was under the impression that HomeAdvisor vets their companies. I don't mind if they don't all me to tell me they can't come but not to even have the courtesy. HomeAdvisor it does not look good for your company either! I am busy too... I don't sit at home waiting for people call!
They were very courteous and good no great at their job. I would use them again in a heartbeat.
The person who was supposed to mount my Tv didn't even show up! The reason was HomeAdvisor taking forwarding wrong information to the service person.
Honestly, this is the worst service provider, they would double check your credit card number but not your personal information. I am better off with Bestbuy services.
I requested a quote and got a call from Michael Gjuraj who asked that I send him pictures of the project twice. I did that five days ago and never heard back with a quote. Waste of time.
I submitted an online inquiry to a company called Powell & Sons to stain my deck. The Powell & Sons web site indicated that they did deck staining. I also found the additional web pages showing Powell & Sons as a plumbing contractor and a carpentry contractor. When I submitted my information on the Powell & Sons web site describing my need for someone to stain my deck, I immediately received a confirmation from HomeAdvisor. I then began receiving inquiries from several painting contractors (not deck staining contractors as I had requested). It was obvious that the Powell & Sons web site was a front for HomeAdvisor (as indicated in the very tiny print on the web site that you can barely make out). I felt that I was duped by HomeAdvisor into using their service, so that was strike one. Then I was only contacted by painting contractors, none of which used real deck stains (strike two). I hired one of the contractors to paint the railings and spindles around my deck, but it looks like I will be staining the deck myself (strike three). Three strikes equals what should be a three star rating (which should be lower). The survey system would not allow me to submit a 3 star rating so I changed it to 4.
So far all the jobs I have done though home advisor have gone great.
The contractors who come over too my house is always professional
Home Advisors set up an appointment for maid service without my consent. Then theysaid I wanted fix price rates (which I didn't) in addition the maid service contractor had to cancel the appointment at the last minute
HA wants $176 even though I didn't enter in any agreement to arrange the service
And the service was never rendered
Haven't heard anything back from them
Excellent job very professional and right on time,
Everything I've paid for and with a grateful heart
I was looking for yard service and they recommended an excellent company
See above review. Paul Dalpe was great. He knew what was wrong and fixed it.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
