My view of Home Advisor has degraded since they merged with Angie's List. In the past they were an excellent source to find reputable companies to do repairs, hassle free. While they still are a good source for repair companies, they have taken on the "Angie" model of trying to sell subscription services and upsell. The prepay quote they provided seemed a bit high so I decided to hold off and look around. Within an hour a received a call from a local company they referred and went with them, since the price they quoted me was $100 less than the Prepaid Home Advisor subscription price. After I engaged the company they referred, Home Advisor kept calling me to schedule service. They need to close their feedback loop before they lose customer for hounding them after the service has been completed

A/C failed during Heat Wave! Technician contacted and selected via Angi list, arrived promptly, resolved situation quickly. Nice App!
Booked a handyman last week, no one showed up. They made me call the contractor to see why. Of course he didn't answer. Rebooked it for today, no one shows up again. There is no customer service at all, they just say sorry and offer to book it again. Never, ever use home Advisor!
When I first got the companies from HomeAdvisor that did the mold testing, it said to get 3 bids. So, I clicked on 3 of the companies that looked best for us. The one that called me first is the one I set the first appointment with. But then, HomeAdvisor automatically set appointments with the other two companies without my input. When they called, I was already locked into the first company which was going to cost me 400 just for testing. The other companies were going to charge between 400 and 500 for their services. So, I cancelled the two I didn't go with.
One of the companies called me and told me that he has to pay 15.00 for each cancellation. This hardly seems fair to the company since HomeAdvisor automatically scheduled the appointment without my input.
Received a list of area house cleaning services. One responded quickly and was hired after a brief conversation

Daniel showed me pictures of what they found in my ducts and pointed out problems with my dryer vent and fixed it.
