I found 2 antique purses that I had been looking for. I thought I had bid up high enough, but sure enough, someone else was interested in them, at the end of the auction. You have to watch your item and bid up to its worth. Especially at the auction's closing. I am thrilled that I got my purses!

Items were clearly described and photographed. Bidding moved smoothly and timely. It was a little unclear to me that the auction times were given in central time while the location of the sale was in the eastern time zone.

Placed bids in 2 different auctions. Items were not fully described to initiate fair practice (one item looked to be sealed box, but items were missing from content. Blurred pictures and descriptions make it a dangerous choice for bidding

I love buying through HiBid. The website is very user-friendly. I especially like when I click to view a specific lot, then click to go back to the auction, it takes me to the exact spot I left off, not all the way back to the beginning. Also, I'm always met with smiling, friendly faces from helpful people when picking up auctions.

Love hibid and will continue to use it but the premiums are pretty high to be casually passed onto the buyer. After you win an auction, you tack on 15 in seller premiums and then 8.5% in taxes (understandable), but the incentive to buy on the platform goes down knowing that these end fees diminish how much purchasing power I actually have on the platform.
Wish it was almost case-base or category based percentage, or threshold based where if you go over a certain number like $100, $1000, or $*******, then the percentage changes.
Maybe this does exist but am not aware of it.

The 2 silver bars I got are not 1 oz silvers bars like it had said I bought. They are not even a half oz bar. Definitely disappointed in that, from change auctions I feel like sharpless is a better bet. You can atleast view the items and know what you are getting in person.

App locked up on my phone when I scrolled too fast as it always does within 2-3 minutes of items closing. Needless to say, I was unable to bid on some desired items as I had to shutdown everything, reboot and start over.

I like being able to put in my highest bid even if not watching the entire thing.
The features such as being able to see prior bids or watch list is very helpful.
Having a watch list to concentrate on helps to not over spend and buy just what I want.

Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
