I've watched three episodes of Home Town. Brooke, from episode three "Homecoming," turned me off to the show. Her attitude was poor and spoiled, which was laughable given the small budget. I refuse to watch a show with such poor clients; the charming hosts can't do it all.
I would like to say the quality of architecture is fabulous in this show; much better than Fixer Upper! Too bad the town has such poor clients/homebuyers from which to choose.
I think that there are a lot of heaters out there.
Probably the couple from hometown is talented, the producer is the one to blame for not being able to create a new show ( new as in original).
You can't dispute the thought.
I was hopeful that this new renovation show might be a good one, but although the couple on "Home Town" seem like nice people, they really aren't very interesting or engaging for TV. I've watched one installment of it and maybe part of a second but wouldn't turn in to specifically see them again. (I would probably channel surf for something else)I'm now hopeful that the new versions of Flip or Flop will be good enough to blow the old one out of the water. And that wouldn't take much!
This show is just awful! I am sure the hosts are nice people, but they have no talent for television. They constantly laugh even though there is nothing funny to laugh about and their laugh usually sounds fake. I find her voice irritating and what is up with her clapping like a small child all the time? The paintings that she is so proud of look like they were done by a five year old. She is childish in many ways. There is just no magic. Overall, this couple is just boring and irritating. I was excited to have a new show to watch, but barely made it through the first two episodes... I will definitely not watch this one again.
Please get rid of this show and put something interesting on. The people are poor actors and very lame and there jokes are not funny. There is only one Joanna and Chip Gaines and these home town people are not them!
I'm an instant fan! My husband even watches with me. That is saying something! After the first show, I wanted to move to that beautiful city. Love it!
There is definitely room for another home renovation show - I never get tired of these. But there can only be one Fixer Upper, and that belongs to Chip and Joanna. Please, Home Town, come up with something and make it your own. I was sickened to watch your show and see that it was such a rip-off of Fixer Upper. It is ridiculous... the same format, same buzz words and phrases, same everything. It was hard to watch without me constantly rolling my eyeballs and thinking "you've got to be kidding". I've never seen such copycatting in my life. Try again.
I wanted to like this show, I really did. I like the premise, the hosts seems likable enough, the house they were remodeling had oodles of potential, but unfortunately, this show is not Fixer Upper. It seemed to drag, some of their design choices were *interesting*, and I didn't feel like I learned anything as I do with Chip and Joanna. Maybe it's not fair to compare the two shows, but since their basic storyline is so similar, it's hard not to. It might play better as a half hour show.
This is nothing more than a Chip and Joanna knock off, and a very bad one at that. This couple are not charming. Bad jokes, and they give the feeling that they don't know much about rehabbing homes. They look as if they are learning as they go. I will not be watching.
Show title Run-Down Tiny House was amazing. I love everything Joanna and Chip. Do. But this one was off the chain.
How long do the loyal viewers of HGTV have to be bored by Flip or Flop or by Christina and /Or Tarek?
Their drama and their dull formula for flipping houses has run its course.
Please replace them with shows and hosts that are inspiring and talented.
These two-together or separate- have truly run their course.
Most of your longtime viewers have skills in remodeling and decorating equal or better then the el Moussa's.
HGTV is better than what these two hosts have to offer which is mediocre even on their very best episode.
I totally agree with the other review. Show is AWFUL! Quit trying to be Chip and Joanna. Do something different. They are so boring I had to turn it off. Any attempt at humor was a big flop. And to NAME the houses? Come on now; that is from the Chip and Joanna show. Be yourselves if you are to stay on TV, but I doubt that you will have anyone watching for long.
Home Town just aired one episode and I already feel that it should stop airing more. These people are awful, the show is terrible, the couple tries way too hard to be like Chip & Joanna Gaines from Fixer Upper. WAY too hard. They repeat things Chip & Jo say, take their ideas (even like the most recent using a bowling alley floor as the island countertop). I feel their work quality is not good, they are not good at designing and fixing the space, and I feel like the husband knows nothing about construction! He can barely demo. I will never watch this show and do not want it taking time away from the shows that do deserve to be on HGTV
Enjoy the destination property shows especially the warm beaches... Makes us dream of escaping the Canadian winters and wish for a walk on the beach...
Please stop, I am not interested in these couples lives. Please bring back more shows that are informative and tell where the properties are on all shows. You have been our go to Chanel. But you are losing our interest
Flea market flip is the best it should be on every weekend. Real people reinventing is the best and Laura is a great hostess and the shop workers show real ways to complete the project. Just wanted to share.
I am from Iowa and work everyday so this show shows such imagination and creativity.
I wish ther was a show to show women how to use power tools my husband has no patience and works all the time and I have so many projects that need to get done that I believe I could do if I knew how.
Chip and Joanna are the next best show in my opinion.
Just wanted to share. Thank you
Please stop showing that Fixer Upper show all weekend long! Enough is enough! That couple is too handy for public TV, sick of seeing them groping each other all the time! Worst show and you show rerun after rerun.
Fixer Upper is the best show on HGTV. They should have more decorating and less real-estate shows. Bring back Decorating Cents, Genevene.
Re: Fixer Upper - Basically enjoy the program, Joanna is great, she is a lovely lady & love her work but how she puts up with Chip I don't know. He's rude, always interrupting, is so childish, acts ignorant and disgusting. I don't want to see him drink muddy water from filthy boots, eat roaches, or take off his clothes. He's disgusting, not funny, it's getting old & I will have to stop watching if you can't get him under control.
Answer: There are SO many commercials for Hometown ( more than 6 per hour), I won't be watching it because I am sick of the couple posing and posing. So many commercials mean something is wrong with the show. HELP PLEASE!
Answer: I agree! Landscapes, gardening... something that blends in vegetation to give a nice break from home remodels.
