Very surprised to find out that Ameriherb was no more. I got used to their ordering process. This seems a bit harder. I would have hoped that my account information from them would have passed over. It will take time to get used to this.
Updated from 3 stars to 5: I should have remember to check that spam email folder as this where the promotion discount code went. Customer service over the phone is great, promised to fix it and to send the first order discount even after the completed delivery. Everything delivered as advertised.

It was rather time-consuming. How the heck does one know what tea it is under? You have to press each and every button to find the darn thing. It took me 3 days and/or 20 plus hours.
REVISED. Here is the response I received. "That tea would be found under black tea as mentioned in the name BLACK currant tea. Ya think. My original comment was in regards to tea that one would not know if it was an herbal, green, or under other departments. Sigh...
Enjoyed the updated website with pictures and information. Prices have gone up significantly on some items. Also quite a few items are now no longer available or out of stock. Company did reach out to me later and noted that because of the merge, they've gone through these changes.
Great catalogue. Except for the oils. Also, strange way to go back to the order confirmation after payment has been made to validate the order. Hoping I will receive shipment rapidly and without any problem.

I wish I would've read these reviews prior to spending 3 hours diligently reviewing pricing for bulk items & navigating through a large amount of discontinued & sold out items. I was finally ready to checkout & to my dismay, the shipping costs on 5lbs was over $100! Prior to shopping, I read on their site that they use the least expensive shipping method available for the area it was being delivered to & that they keep the product prices low instead of transferring shipping costs to the product itself. I then, out of curiosity, tried to ship only 2 lbs & it was $60 for shipping, holy cow! I'm in Cleveland Ohio, I thought it was a glitch on their site.
I emailed the company & explained that I read the shipping area of their website prior to shopping & appreciated the fact that they go in detail to explain that their products don't have inflated prices due to compensating for shipping, like most companies, so they have to charge the customer actual shipping costs they incur. I was definitely willing to pay standard usps or ups prices but was thoroughly confused as to why it would cost more than 6x the amount that ups ground actually charges. I'm familiar with shipping costs, for the most part, & this amount isn't even in the same vicinity as standard shipping costs. They do ship free on a >$300 order so I explained that I was a new customer & would like to try a few of the products prior to making a $300 order & was happy to pay actual shipping costs.
The response I received didn't address my concerns or questions. It was a generic response that I'm sure she's sent many times prior. She confirmed that the shipping costs were not a glitch in the system & insincerely apologized for the problems this has caused. She also claimed they were diligently working on reducing their shipping costs.
When I looked up these reviews, I realized that my complaint about their site not allowing customers to view shipping costs prior to checking out & inflating their shipping fees to compensate for the lower prices has been a common complaint for a couple years now. The generic lie of an explanation I was given along with the fact that they make it a point to explain the opposite of what they do with these additional costs on their website is, in my opinion, deceptive at very best. The fact that they have been hearing this same complaint for years now confirms to me that they are intentionally misleading their customers. I will definitely not be a customer.
Found the website somewhat difficult to place an order - too much searching
I like cooking and when it comes to cooking, as usual, I'm run out of particular herbs which i need in order to create a new masterpiece. I started to search for various herbs deliveries in order to get the herbs and spices which i need right away. Moreover, usually it happens when I have already started cooking and detected that I'm run out of particular herbs and spices. Recently i faced this company and decided to order here some spices and herbs beforehand. Basically, I have never met something like that before. There is quite a big assortment of herbs and I ordered here many of them with pleasure.

I love the products, but I had a 2 day devil of a time ordering. First it was my login, which continued over the last of the day before and most of my time this evening. I had to leave the PC for a little bit, and when I returned my entire order over which I had labored had disappeared. I had to scour the site 4 times due to lost input not retained. It is a good thing I only do this once every 18-24 months.

I have been a customer of Monterey Bay Herb Co. For several years and have never had a problem. However, the valerian I ordered is not good quality. It has a rancid, vinegar-like smell instead of the usual "dirty sock" smell and I am unable to use it. There aren't any refunds allowed so there is no point in contacting them. Like I said, I have never had a problem before and the prices are excellent but I have had to re-order valerian from another company to replace the one I received from Monterey Bay. I will most likely still order from them in the future.
