Unfortunately wasn't given the opportunity to receive more service, which after this bad review am grateful. I went in after waiting 3 weeks for my hearing test, was called to confirmed apt. I went in to get my hearing test, additional test that required a family member to come all g. After testing this person says to me he would contact me in regards to what hearing aides I qualified for, without getting the molding impression as I've always had gotten before not to waste time. He wouldn't do them nor did he showed me what hearing aides they provided. It upset me as my daughter had missed work for nothing, because nothing was done. I contacted my insurance to get information they told be they had already faxed the referral 3 weeks prior and again when I called about the issue. Hearing life ( Victor) never contacted me as to what the insurance would cover for me. They waste your time, they provided nothing.
I purchased hearing aids from what was then, Total Hearing and they lasted a very short time and were in for repair more times than not. They agreed to extend my insurance coverage and now that the coverage is expired I need to pay $275 to repair and its only covered for 6 months. WHY DO THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ESPECIALLY SENIORS?
I initially paid $3000. And cannot afford to purchase another pair or take a chance repairing them. I'm having difficulty hearing and it's very stressful especially when with a group.
In the beginning the audiologist was constantly being changed. Most of the time the office was closed until they could find another worker. How is this good business?!
Their sales scripts are old fashioned and inappropriate. I would not recommend to buy devices here nor would I recommend to work there.
My wife and I went there because they offered a oven toaster which I could use. We both went through their exam but I never got specifically what they offered. The other thing that occurred to us is that anyone's hearing would improve with amplification. It is a come on marketing ploy.
My husband went to the Corpus Christi Tx location to be fitted for hearing aids. They overcharged him for his portion of the insurance amount. The Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from our insurance company stated the portion he was responsible for. We thought when we brought this discrepancy to Hearing Life's attention they would credit our credit for the overcharge, but THAT WAS NOT THE CASE! We were told they don't handle insurance! The corporate office handles that! We asked for the number for the corporate office & we were told they could not give the number out! We are still fighting with HearingLife to get our refund. We have made numerous phone calls & talked to different people every time with a different excuse. They say they have to talk to a supervisor and will call you back, but they dont! Hearing Life is a scam & needs to be shut down. Check out the complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I wish we had, because we wouldn't be in this situation now!
Hearing life's corporate insurance department is horrible. They keep giving me the runaround about reimbursing a patient the $ her insurance company paid them for her hearing aids. They are trying to double dip because she paid in full and then her insurance sent them a check as well and they keep giving me the runaround instead of just cutting her a reimbursement check. DON"T PAY THEM IN FULL!

They are not interested in the person getting what is best for their loss Just want to make a sale, Michael and his boss Greg, I think, what you to spend money my understanding is that Greg does not have a license and does not know ANYTHING about hearing.
Stay away from Hearing life also they have a sign that they are recording everything
Hearing Life called my 89 year old father to set up an appointment to do a checkup on his 6 month old hearing aids. He was skeptical and he asked me call and find out more. The person I talked with on the phone knew my fathers medical history (relating to his hearing loss), his address, phone number (obviously) and other private medical information. I was even more skeptical they knew so much, but daddy wanted to have his ears adjusted so we kept the appointment.
I wasnt impressed with the cheap furniture in the waiting room, the lack of space in the patient rooms and generally was not comfortable with anything happening in the 2 hours we were there. The first person we saw did a hearing test. He was pleasant. This man looked at how daddys hearing aids were sitting on his ears and offered to shave them down to fit better. Up until this point we were not feeling anything shady or unprofessional was going on, I was more or uncomfortable with the lack of any kind of medical office feel to this store front suite.
When the first man took daddys hearing aids to complete the adjustments he suggested, another man in a long white coat (aka, doctors coat) came in to get us to go over the hearing test results. My BS alarm lit right up. First of all, the guy was NOT old enough to be an actual doctor, there were no college or accreditation documents anywhere in sight and he just had a general salesman type vibe. Daddy and I sat down on the side of the desk opposite the hearing aid specialist. This H. A. S. Suggested that while daddys hearing aids were being adjusted he wanted to make sure daddy could hear everything that was going on, so the H. A. S. Had an extra set of hearing aids for daddy to borrow. Long story short, this guy tried really really hard to sell us his $7,000 hearing aids. I asked him about his accreditations / education, etc. He responded with I am a licensed hearing aid specialist. I am not personally familiar with this kind of license, so I kept the conversation going. He is not an audiologist or an ENT doctor, or anything medically licensed at all. He didnt even know the difference between an audiologist and an ENT doctor. (I am fully aware of the difference as I have several children who have seen both kinds of doctors during their lives. In addition, I have a bachelors degree in sociology with an emphasis on the elderly, more specifically issues pertaining to elderly women, being fully aware of elder scams is my thing). Basically this guy puts on a white coat, giving an unsuspecting elder the illusion of being a medical professional. The current elder population generally does what a doctor asks them to do, because the doctor knows best. Hearing Life is taking this almost guaranteed response of an elder and ran with it. Luckily daddy had me with him and I called BS pretty quickly, saving him a LOT of money. I wish I had been able to help the other woman in the office while we were there. This nimrod convinced her to get the $7,000 pair of hearing aids, to be financed by care credit, a medical use credit card. I was sick when I heard how this H. A. S. Preyed on this woman. I will continue telling this story to anyone who will listen to hopefully shut these jokers down, or at the very least give a potential patient a heads up about what to expect. Their pretend license should be taken away, indeed!
