This company should be SUED! They took advantage of my special needs brother. He didn't understand the process or pricing. ANYONE "selling" to him should have been able to recognize this from the very being. However...they were only interested in the SALE. He is on disability income and the can not afford these $5000 hearing aids. They lied to him about the hearing aids. He bought hearing aids from Walmart for $100 THEY PREFORM BETTER then the 5k hearing aids. Also he had insurance that pays the total cost of hearing aids. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE! BASICALLY THIS COMPANY HUSTLED HIM. SHAME ON YOU HORRIBLE PEOPLE AND COMPANY. I intend to make this right one way or another.
Continuation of 1st review. Contacted Better Business Bureau who contacted Hearing Life who then sent a response saying they were researching the problem. They then sent me a letter saying they could no longer serve me as a customer. While I will be happy to find another reputable audiologist, this is a sad story of how they treat customers. I was in my busiest week at work and busiest week of volunteering. They gave me dead batteries. All I requested were working batteries. They cancelled me as a customer.
I was given a stack of batteries that were all dead. Next I was given a stack of batteries so heavily child-proofed that I could not open them. I brought them back and had the manager open them for me. And give them to me in an empty Tylenol bottle. Got that stack home - to find once again, they are dead batteries. None work. Called the office who was very rude and told me to stop complaining and hung up on me. I am now calling Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office.
Aids purchased OCT. 2025. Several issues with no satisfaction. July 1 2024 called for appointment for a simple speech booster adjustment, the receptionist said a $300.00 charge would apply. I went to different Hearing aid store for the service, I paid $30.00 for the service. My aids are under warranty but I will not return to hearing life on Douglas Bl in Roseville, Ca
Customer service lacking of a certified technician. Tech has a very sour disposition. Always seems that she doesnt want bothered with your problem. I have purchased new hearing aids in the past but dont think I will purchase from this center again.
I was a previous customer of HearingLife having decided last year to go elsewhere in the future due to lack of satisfaction with this Waynesville office. Out of the blue a couple weeks ago, I got a call to come in for a free hearing test, ear inspection and hearing aid adjustments. I explained that I was not interested, I was looking for an office with an AuD and that I would be looking elsewhere later this summer. The offer was repeated - no commitments from me needed. The offer was too good to be refused and after I was told several times it was inclusive and totally free with no insurance involvement. I accepted an appointment.
I showed up 15 minutes early "for paperwork" this morning as instructed. I was the first appointment of the day, the door was locked displaying a "closed" sign and the lights were off. I waited for 15 minutes, finally was admitted, and told the there was no paperwork. A bad start for sure.
When I was brought into the testing office, after the niceties, I was told that I was not eligible for "what Headquarters had offered me." I could however buy a multi-year service plan and we could move forward from there.
After I again described the unsolicited free offer, I was given, to no avail, I expressed my total dissatisfaction with this wasted visit. Then, I was offered a free hearing test BUT informed the results would not be used to adjust or tune my hearing aids - essentially a wasted hearing test with no purpose.
There was no arguing or discussion. This was a problem with "headquarters scheduling" resulting in the making of offers that could not be honored at the local office. I left the office as I heard for the umpteenth time that this was a "headquarters error / headquarters problem" and not the local office's fault. Nothing could be done - a wasted trip and wasted time.
I tried hearing aids from Hearing Life. They were rude and lied to me. The Oticon Brand partially own the company. I tried the Oticon brand and the sound was awfull. Shrill and tinny and music was unlistenable. When I asked about Phonac, the audiologist said they were $10,000 a pair and that was a lie. They tried to charge me $2000 more than the price advertised on their own website. Stay away from these people.
Hearinglife is the biggest scam ever. I admit I got taken. $7000 hearing aids. Horrible service after the initial sale. I would never recommend them for any hearing services whatsoever. DO your due dilligence and research. There are many reputable companies out there that are wonderful. Do not give Hearinglife any money. As I purchased them several years ago I do not have a receipt. I am a 60 year old man that was taken because I was not educated about hearing aids.
BEWARE you have to make appointments for everything, literally, a 30 second adjustment, you can't just walk in! I've been going to the Wilbraham MA office for 3 1/2 years, been through 4-5 receptionist, not one stayed long enough to know the job and now they removed that position all together so your left with an audiologist that thinks answering phones are beneath him, so he lets them go to VM, I know this because I was watching him from the window as I called 6 times. I'm receiving calls two three times a week from hearinglife telemarketers!? Why, I already have their hearing aids. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Great help with my hearing aids and adjustments but incredibly difficult to contact the company it's just pathetic trying to come and get this company they're not there or they don't return calls
We had a very excellent office visit with Audiologist Roger Theobald and assistant Lexi in Boise. Needed assistance while on vacation from Illinois. They exceeded our expectations!
And corrected previous mistakes made on my husbands aids!
Blissfully ignorant and bullying company.They never contacted NALC (my health insurer) directly/they botched using Amplifon-a third party billing service on 6/21/2021/ignored my frequent visits to their store to inquire WHY they hadn't provided a paid in full status in Nov.and Dec,2022 and a certified ltr in Feb.2022.and sent ME a billing that I owed them $2,000! I filed a complaint file #******* with the State of MI Department of Insurance and Financial services.
The front office person can be rude & does not accept any responsibility. Obviously poor communication between provider & front desk. I spoke with provider on Thursday regarding lost hear aid. She said it would be available the next day or Monday. When I called Monday the person at the desk knew nothing about it & accused me of not ordering & not paying., which I had done. She later called & said provider had sent an email which she said she hadn't received & said "it's not my fault " & never apologized for the way she had treated me. I only went there initially because my previous provider was no longer available but would NEVER recommend Hearing Life to anyone
I want to thank Anthony Nash of the Rockledge, FL office for changing my life. I knew for years that I needed an earing aid but didn't want to deal with it. When I received the flyer in the mail I took it as an omen that it was time, plus all my friend were tired of repeating them selves. I found both Anthony and Dorrie to be very attentive and caring. Thanks to to you I have a whole new world of hearing. Bea Kim
I purchased hearing aids from the Roanoke Rapids, NC office for my mother and they were wonderful. David was so patient with her and took lots of time getting things just right so she could hear better. Also I have had 3 other family members purchase from this office. They are always available when we need help or supplies. We are so happy.
Advised to buy hearing aids in 2021 to avoid price hike. Was told Hearing life had an agreement with insurance company so that if we bought our hearing aid before the end of the year that we would owe nothing. Over 18 months later we started receiving bills for combined total of over $3000.00 for the hearing aids my wife & I bought.
Talked to district manager and he said he would get it resolved as he was familiar with the issue. Never heard from him again. His telephone number is always busy - called over a dozen times. Customer service is difficult to get through to and of no help when you do get through. One exception is the last call made where the representative said she could not help, but she promised to bring it up to her supervisor and I will be contacted.
Pretty much very frustrating trying to get issue resolved. Next step if supervisor doesn't have valid answers is to forward everything to an attorney.
I have had trpuble since i got my hearing aids. I saw an audiologist at our winter home. My hearings aids did nothing for my hearing. Not the right technology. Not properly fit, speakers would not stay in my ears. They would not send my charts to my audiologist. I spent thousands to get the correct hearibg aids.
Hearing Life Aids are not reliable long term they work initially but falter quickly there service is there they are polite saying that the service is not quick and excuses are inconsistent they are price point in the high area not the most expensive but far from the least.
I am on my 2nd set of Hearing Aids with this company the first set was battery operated and performed better than my 2nd set that is battery charged. When at peak I have no complaints however they do not stay at peak performance and have to be returned to be tuned up or replaced. The technicians do not stay making one work with a new techie from time to time. Draw your own conclusion this is not meant to persuade anyone to not use them it is only my experience over 6.5 years dealing with the same location
First Fran who works as a receptionist, at the Brea office, stay away from her, she is a liar telling people she is the manager. Fran is NOT a manager! Secondly Fran committed Fraud by writing on Elleke Humphreys paper work to finance the hearing aids, she has a $48,000 income a year, that is a lie.
Fran never asked Elleke how much money she has. Fran did this with intent so Elleke could qualify for the financing. However...
What Elleke did to me after I went out of my way helping her with so many things and driving her all over town asking for nothing in return. Elleke goes down to Brea police and lies to them of how I stole her hearing aid money. That old $#*! is in serious financial debt.
Elleke lives on her social security which is less than $1500 and her mortgage is over $1300 so she can't pay all her bills, she has no money left and her son is a loser! Who doesn't help at all and lives with her!
Elleke sold 5 burial plots back to Brea cemetery, she was given $6000 in a check, I advised her to pay off the hearing aid, she did over the phone herself when we were at the bank, after she deposited the check.
So if I had to guess, she spent the money and didn't allow the payments to clear and now she is in the negative on her checking account. This is why she is blaming me to hopes to use it as an excuse with the bank, they know. I told them everything so fu***c***k you both.
Fran stay the f***u***ck out of other peoples business $#*!, you should be fired! This company is corrupt anyway taking advantage of seniors, the cost of those aides are ridiculous! $2700 dollars! Affordable my A***S**S! This company sells aids at $5000 even more, they refuse to use MEDICARE, but Fran lies so the 3rd party credit company will automatically approve the line of credit these old seniors need. Hearing Life is a SCAM, it is NOT AFFORADABLE as they target people at the BREA SENIOR CENTER, this is how Elleke knew about them.
I am the one who helped her with the deposit of $200 dollars, so fu***ck the both of you CU****NTS! FRAN THE RECEPTIONIST SHOULD BE FIRED FOR LYING ON PAPER WORK!
Edwin knows Elleke all of his life, when I went back to have a conversation with him, that FAT FU***C**K WAS gone from the company.
Brian has called no less than 10 tens from a different number in the past 2 weeks. He starts out saying he wants to schedule an appointment with my doctor. I have never been to Hearing Life. Actually I am an attorney and he is calling my office number asking for my client! Such a scam. My client is 92. I have advised him to stop calling, gave him a formal warning to remove my number and her name from his list of leads. TODAY, I advised him that this was call number 10 and the police were being called to report harassing phone callas and elderly abuse. He got mad, said he was not harassing me - was not calling from different numbers etc! I have 3 vm messages on my service from him calling from different numbers! ALL OF THIS ALONE SCREAMS DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
My partner has been struggling with hearing loss for the past year.He has resisted hearing aids due to cost, self consciousness,fear of the unknown. A friend referred us to Hearinglife. I made the appointment the next day.He was thoroughly tested and found to have significant loss. The audiologist was well versed with hearing loss, as he wore hearing aids himself. He was absolutely professional, caring, and knowledgeable, and afforded us all the time we needed to make an informed decision.After wearing the hearing aids for two weeks, my partner has adjusted to them extremely well. It has changed our home life dramatically! We should have gone a year ago. We highly recommend Hearinglife. We cannot put a price on our health and the quality of our life.
