A very good razor. It is not just about the razor itself but the support you will receive from the staff, knowledgeable and friendly.
I was really disappointed that I couldn't find any reviews for any of Harry's products on the website, now I know why. I searched Google for reviews and found mostly bad to awful. Thanks for your help reviewers! You really helped with my decision.
We don't have reviews set up on the site but if you check out our Facebook page there are quite a few reviews from our customers. That said, we hope you'll give us a shot and see for yourself.
I went back to Dorco as Harry's blades were a major disappointment. I would never go back to Harry's.
Brought one from Target and tried it out a couple times. It really not doing the job. Just feel like using those disposable razor at the dollars store. So disappointed. Lucky I was able to return for refund at target and brought another Gillett razor that work for me.
Sorry to hear that, John. Glad that you were able to get the refund, but bummed that you never got to continue using our razor. We have actually heard similar complaints like this from guys who didn't get a great first couple shaves, only to find that it can take 4-5 shaves to make the adjustment to a new system like ours. Our blades are set at just enough of a different angle that the amount of pressure you apply while shaving, and the angle you hold the razor at, can actually make a world of difference between the blade *seeming* dull vs. sharp. It's actually quite sharp, but if it doesn't glide across your face at the proper angle it won't be as effective. Hope you'll give us another try sometime in the future.
I got the trial set and I have to say I was disappointed the razor was OK but very cheap and had a weird pivot point that made it horrible. The shave gel is awesome though I am gonna keep buying it by itself
Severe laceration to chin has taken many months to heal. Left a significant permanent scar on my face. I filed an insurance claim which they denied of course. Will seek further action. Inferior and dangerous product. Hoping to contact attorney general.
Used to love Harry's razors - wouldn't use anything else. The new blades however, now pull badly, don't last long at all, and give a very uncomforable shave compared to the old blades. I contacted customer service and told them to BRING BACK THE OLD BLADES! All they wanted to do was send me more of the new blades to give them a second chance. No need, I have plenty that I'm throwing away. Once the last of my old blades are gone, I will stop using Harry's altogether. Such a shame, I really, really liked them until now.
Really sorry to hear that, Rory. Also, it's odd that you're finding such a difference in blade quality between old and new, because the actual blades themselves have no changed one iota. We changed 2 things on the cartridge itself (the rubber for the flex hinge and the addition of a trimmer blade on top), but the 5-blade system that does the majority of your shave has remained completely unchanged. It is possible, though, that the different level of flex in the new rubber we use has changed the overall experience enough that it could just take some adjusting. If you email [email protected] we will take care of you.
I've been using Harry's for over two years and love every chance I get to use them. I've given Harry's to my father, father in law, and brother for Christmas gifts and they all agree. One thing that puzzles me is why are people having trouble with their Harry's products. I shave my face and head with these amazing blades and have never had a bad experience once. If you are on the fence about Harry's I would advise trying the product. Remember you don't need to sign up for a subscription to get them, I order when I need to. The price is amazing and the shipping is always free and there when I need it. I have never needed customer support so I can't talk about that but in a way I think that too says it's a great product. So again give it a try, if you don't like it you're only out a few dollars, but I think you'll be surprised at the quality for the price.
I have been a customer of them since 1/2015. I have recommend you to everyone I know and have also sent a gift set to my brother in law to show how amazing your product is. However the new generation of blades are awful. The blades are rough and don't last at all. My husband loved how smooth the blades were and how after the shave his skin was soft. Now he shaves and the blade is rough and sometimes leaves a rash. They used to last over 3 weeks like new, now after 1-2 weeks I have to throw them out. They replaced the quality of the blades which lured us in to go costs effective and made the product suck. Sometime the quality is better than the quantity. They lost me as a customer.
Really sorry to hear this, Sandra. We actually haven't changed the blades themselves at all. The things that we changed with our new generation of cartridges were twofold: first, we added a trimmer blade to the top of the cartridge. Second, we changed the rubber that we use for the flex hinge, now using a more durable and flexible rubber than before. Both of those features we hoped would improve your shaving experience, and we're certainly sorry to hear the opposite seems to be the case. Please email [email protected] and we'll take care of you.
Cut myself pretty good on the back of my neck. Customer service stated that it's not for head shaving. They were nice enough to refund my $3.00. WOW. Sticking with the Fusion. Stay away from Harry.
Buyer beware. Website phishes your email address. Questionable practices. I've been a member, and although products are reasonably good, the questionable business practices can result in overcharging credit card or misusing it. Best to find someone else to buy from.
We definitely don't ever mean to charge more than what you expect to pay, and if you experienced otherwise please email us at [email protected] and we will gladly take care of you.
Do yourself a favor and grab a sack of BIC disposables at the checkout line. You'll get a better shave...
Very first shave with my very first Harry's razor pulled and grabbed. Dullest new razor I've ever bought.
Really sorry to hear that this was your experience with our blades, Carl. In fact, this is something we've heard before, but it's not generally the blades themselves, but rather the angle you hold them to your face and amount of pressure you use. As strange as it sounds, it's something that can take a few shaves to adjust, and if you change up both of those factors (angle/pressure) we think you'll soon find just how good of a shave you can get with us. If you email [email protected] we'd be glad to take care of you.
After using the Harry's system for half a year... it's "meh"
Cool concept, but bad design on the rubber hinge that breaks way too often leaving your shaving cartridge useless.
FIX THE HINGE AND I'M BACK USING HARRY'S
Gillette is a 1000% better but costs way more, but lasts way way waaaaaay longer...
We actually released new blades a few months ago that have a stronger and more flexible rubber hinge, so the issue you had with them breaking should be a thing of the past. We hope you'll give us another try!
I bought 16 blades and they give me the worst shave I ever got. These blades are so bad. I can only get 1 shave with these inferior blades. So disappointed
Well that's not what you want! If you email [email protected] we'll be glad to sort this out for you. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
After two or three shaves there done. Time to replace. I wont order any more. Plus shipping is out of control.
So sorry to hear that, Dennis. Most guys get a good 6-8 shaves per blade, so we can imagine your disappointment when you only got a few shaves. We think our Customer Experience team will have some helpful tips for how to get the best use out of our blades, though, so we hope you'll send us an email at [email protected]. Thanks so much for your patience and understanding.
Purchased my first Harry's razor and I love it. First and foremost it's much cheaper than Gillette's razor and the replacement blades. Now to the important statement - the shave is GREAT! I use the razor to primarily shave my head and it feels like the razor is gripping my head like rubber on the road, creating a very clean and smooth shave.
It's only been a few weeks, but I will say, this razor is something I wish I would have known about years ago.
I only need to determine the best time to replace the blade. (Ex. Does the strip change colors, should I change after 7 shaves etc.)
I loved Harrys when they used paper containers for their blades and they were clearly better made. I even told several friends and family about them. They went to plastic which still goes to landfills even if they are recyclable and now the new blades are simply terrible. They lost a big supporter while trying to chase the latest trends instead of focusing on a simple, well made product. I'm out.
Well that's certainly not what we were aiming for! We did recently change our cartridges, though the blades themselves remain unchanged. And, the only changes we made to the cartridges were in the hopes of improving the overall shaving experience, as we added a precision trimmer blade for those hard-to-reach areas and made the rubber flex hinge both more flexible and more durable for a smoother shave. There's a possibility, though, that the new flex hinge is different enough that it could take a few shaves to re-adjust to the amount of pressure you use (an amount of pressure that worked like a charm before the rubber changed, that is). We hope you'll give it a few more tries and see if you find the magic again, and we're sorry that you've had this change of heart over our products.
I gave Harry's a ring since we were playing email tag. A lady rep returned my call to tell me they would refund my money and let me keep the razors. Hows that for CUSTOMER SERVICE?!?! They were true; I have the money back in my account. I'm going to try real hard to like the razors if my hubby decides after a few shave he still doesn't like them, cuz I have been inspired! Thanks Harry!
Bummer! While we have heard from lots of people that it can take a few shaves to adjust to a new system, we certainly understand the disappointment from having a poor first experience like that. We hope you and your husband will give it a few more tries, but we understand if not. Either way, please feel free to reach out to our CX team ([email protected]) and we'll take care of you.
I tried Harry's shaver I purchased at Target in Vacaville, CA. It was just OK. Then they stuck a little plastic card in the offering Four free blades, so I tried the internet to redeem it, NO LUCK! Then I went back to Target and talked to two brain dead employee's regarding how to redeem my free four blades and they looked at me like my hunting dog, the glazed over eye's without a clue of what I was saying to them and so much for organization and management. So I am about ready to throw your shaver in the trash, either you made no provision for redeeming the blades or you don't know what your doing. Larry Williams, 112 Broadview Lane, Winters Ca. Really sorry for this poor experience, Larry. If you email us at [email protected] we'd be glad to take care of all this for you.
After trying Harry's I decided to grow a beard.
Face always felt irritated...
Gave it a 2 because wife likes the scent of the gel
Well hey at least something worked out for you, right? Thanks for giving us a shot and sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the shave.
Answer: Great question, Tony! Blade lifespan will definitely vary a bit based on your particular hair type, shave schedule, and blade care habits. While there's no exact standard for how long a cartridge will last you, we find that the average person likes to replace blades every 6-8 shaves. The idea is that our blades are durable and will last a long time, at a great price.
Answer: The new blades are not as smooth as the old ones and you cannot buy the old ones anymore.
Answer: Absolutely! There are lots of women who use our razors so we'd definitely encourage you to give them a try.
Answer: I had a problem with that when I first got them and found out that I wasn't pusing them on the handle far enough. Also if you hold too close to the blade and choke up on the handle too much your fingers tend to push the blades off. When I held back further on the handles... no worries. Since I changed those two things, I don't have that problem.
Answer: Because when they changed the design of the blade by adding the trimmer, the blade lost its smooth shaving quality, life of the blade and no burn feeling. Now it burns after the shave, blade does not last that long and all you are left with is a cheap blade. If they bring back there 1st generation blades back, I will be the first one to buy them and give back my business to Harry's for LIFE!
