We ordered a Fine Meat subscription for my dad in December that never arrived. I called in January and was told it was an oversight and would be shipped immediately. I've now been charged $129.97 twice with zero delivery to my dad and a February date for the next payment. Customer service was terrible, refused to reimburse me while admitting that no merchandise had ever been received. My bank is now disputing the charges. I really expected more from Harry & David.
For the past couple of years, Beaute Speciale has shown their appreciation to our partnered wedding vendors & very important clients with a special Christmas gift. In 2022 we decided on luxury Christmas gift baskets from Harry & David. We experienced minor delivery issues, but ultimately it was a success. Unfortunately, we are sad to report this past Christmas season was a horrible experience. On December 16th we discovered one of our clients received an incomplete basket with 6 rotten pears and a bag of chocolate candies. To say we were embarrassed is an understatement. These clients provide our company and team of artists with work. Each basket we selected was carefully thought out and specific to each recipient. Each basket also had a Christmas card which we paid extra for as well. For our clients to experience a token of our appreciation in such a horrible condition is simply unacceptable. That same weekend a couple of clients informed us they too did not receive complete gift baskets. One client received two gift baskets. This led us to look at shipping information (which we had to request and not automatically given a couple weeks earlier). Our next discovery was realizing 7 client gift baskets were never ordered or shipped after sending them a detailed document with addresses and item numbers as one does when ordering via a corporate account. After 2 days of calling with no return calls and emailing the corporate account representatives with picture & detailed lists, we sent an email to a manager in charge as a last ditch effort. Within 24 hours we received an email apologizing on behalf a representative we were working with. There was a glitch in the system which caused the issue of double baskets and missing orders. To rectify the issue they were personally submitting orders manually. They were going to resend baskets of recipients with incomplete baskets and send out the missing baskets before Christmas. However we were financially responsible for the missing baskets ( with free express shipping). We decided to avoid any hassles and pay the remaining balance even though we felt Harry and David should have paid for the bill since there were numerous errors. After Christmas, our clients who were promised to have baskets resent to them never received their new baskets. Two more clients received rotten pears and didn't receive a Christmas card in their baskets. This was the last straw for us. After spending over $3K and experiencing this service, we have made the decision that Harry & David will never receive business from us. This post is to solely express our personal experience with the corporate account team. We do understand not everyone may experience this with Harry and David.
My dad died in December & a couple of friends ordered me a basket in December 3 weeks ago. I just received the box on Sunday January 7. Upon opening the box the fruit was spoiled and leaky. Unacceptable! I called and tried to rectify the situation myself to avoid the sender from being embarrassed for the epic fail of Harry & David while doing a nice gesture. Unfortunately, they already knew the outcome and were given a full refund. I ended up trashing the entire box due to its spoiled oozing fruit and appearance of looking as if it went through war. Do Better Harry & David! You guys use to be so awesome. ~O. Damón

I ordered 9 separate gift boxes sent to 9 different addresses. It was 12/22 and i was offered $7 shipping and delivery on 12/23.
In the middle of the order, the promo quite working (Expired no notice) I was then promised delivery between December 28 and January 2 and the new shipping rate was $21.
Of the 9 boxes, 3 were delivered on 12/29... the rest? Delivered January 5th. Embarrassing and the chat reps were rude..
Extremely disappointed with delivery service and order confirmation misinformation. When I placed the order for the Christmas Brunch gift set, it stated delivery would be by January 8,2024. I spoke with customer service last night who informed me delivery is delayed until February 7th. The option offered by the customer service representative was to cancel my order. This is unacceptable because it was a thank you gift for a family member who provided tremendous help and support for our daughter's sudden passing in Florida. We live in Connecticut.
To begin with these baskets are not cheap, but they promise delivery dates. For the 2nd time in two years they have blown the delivery date by 8 days, which missed both Holidays. I will not ever order from them again.
Please beware of this company they are scammers and liars. They claim to be KOSHER which they are NOT!

Called today.Noone ever received gifts.
Called customer service again and was told they could not find my order number and therefore could not issue credit on charge card. They said a new order for CHRISTMAS COULD BE DELIVETED JANUARY 15.

I feel compelled to share my recent disappointing experience with Harry & David's service, hoping that it will shed light on the challenges I faced and serve as a cautionary tale for others.
This holiday season marked the second consecutive year in which Harry & David failed to deliver on its guaranteed Christmas delivery date. Despite placing my order well in advance and receiving assurances of timely delivery, the promised packages arrived late on both occasions.
What has compounded this frustration is the series of disjointed responses from the customer service team. I've interacted with four different representatives, each seemingly unaware of the specifics of my situation. This lack of continuity has made it exceedingly difficult to address my concerns and seek resolution.
After my initial contact, where I was promised a 20% refund for the inconvenience, subsequent responses have been a perplexing mix of claims that the refund was processed and vague references to delivery confirmations. As of my last check, the promised refund has not materialized, and the company has yet to provide any verification or receipt of the transaction.
This experience has been disheartening, to say the least, and I find it concerning that a company known for its reputation has fallen short in both delivering on its promises and providing effective customer service. I genuinely hope that Harry & David takes this feedback seriously and undertakes measures to improve its customer service processes.
In the interest of transparency and accountability, I share my experience here, cautioning others to be wary of potential delivery issues and the challenges in seeking resolution. I sincerely hope that my concerns are addressed and that future customers have a more positive experience.
What a waste of calories! I received a tray of sweet baked goods as a gift and was unpleasantly surprised by the quality. I wouldn't have known that the shortbread cookies were shortbread cookies without a label, since they weren't buttery or crumbly and were kind of soft.
Likewise the other cookies I sampled weren't up to par, out of three types I tried only the macaroon was good. The wooden tray is stupid and who is going to serve guests prepackaged cakes and cookies on a wooden tray? I had to call to complain, there's no place to do that on their website, and the first phone call was "disconnected" and I had to try again. I am getting a refund for the person who ordered it.
I was very disappointed to hear from my mother that the pears in their Chrismas gift from H&D were bruised in several places. These pears are the only reason I purchase these gift baskets. My mom always raved about them. Not anymore.
Our gift my daughter and her husband ordered was going to be late arriving and would not make it by Christmas. Harry & David sent us cookies and pears so we would have something by Christmas, I don't know of any other company that would have done that, great customer service. I will use the from now on.

I order over $1500 in gifts for the holidays. I sent 2 orders to the same location. One customer got it and the other didn't. I followed up with customer services who is not knowledgeable or forthcoming. The first rep said they didn't know what to do. The 2nd rep lied to me and said they didn't know why the order wasn't sent but the recipient would receive it, today's rep said they were out of stock when the order was placed but never contacted me to let me know. I will never use H&D again. Their customer service is terrible.
I give them ZERO stars folks. I've been a customer for years, not anymore. I placed my usual Christmas order, and a week later I get a very suspicious call and email stating there was an issue with my card. Red flags all over, improper English, asking for credit info, phone numbers don't match website. So I call web number, got a good CS rep, she verified my info and insured me that there was nothing wrong with my order or card. Fast forward to Christmas, No cookies. I check to see if they were delivered, nope, CANCELLED! No email or call, they just up and cancelled the order, so my 98 yo grandmother got nothing. I sent them an email, and the response was pitiful. No apology, no explanation, nada. They were a good company, once. Not anymore. Stay away, order something from Amazon.
Received a fruit arrangement 2 days before Christmas. Rotten grapefruits & oranges. Pear with black fuz. Fruit & candies not packaged as shown on website. Company did not want to refund money. Offered back 20% of $99 back to purchaser! What has happened to Harry & David?

I ordered 3side dishes for Christmas dinner.
They were terrible, runny sweet potatoes casserole, bland dried out green beans and tasteless stuffing. For $121 I was shocked

Item was supposed to be delivered before Christmas. I paid extra for shipping. Item is now showing to arrive more than a week after Christmas. Since the item has not shipped, I requested a cancelation and refund. They refused.
Look I am a sonoma County girl. H & D takes advantage of people who don't know wine to buy their overpriced sucky wine and a do it yourself paint set for $79... yuck. There are much better wines under $25... and not H and D... I stopped buying their products years ago. So disappointed..
Harry and David sent me a Hemplers ham which is fine but it's a $50 ham and I paid $180 for. Their service was horrible, completely incompetent. I ordered Sharis berries from them and they were disgusting. A brand that has lost its luster. DO NOT ORDER. Total garbage

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.
Answer: Why do you think any of these reviews have anything to do with Politics? That's pretty crazy assumption. My basket was 2 weeks late and that is not Political. It's facts.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
