Ordered on mon
Ordered on mon. Paid 2 day shipping for a gift. I wanted it to arrive by Monday for someone's anniversary. I checked FedEx fri, it was never shipped. I called Harry and David, they said they didn't know what happened & never notified me. If I had been notified I would have ordered elsewhere. Their response was to offer me a 20% off coupon as if I would order from them again.

Ordered a gift for Mother's day 2 weeks in advance, never even shipped, then I was told it would definitely be there 5/14, still no tracking and no shipping. No contact on a substitution, or any other solutions.

I ordered gift basket *******x as a birthday gift and expected it to ship complete. The recipient got 3 deliveries making it look very small and not like a bundle of goodies as advertised. Plus, the products are mediocre. The cake was just like you would bake at home. The package cost $159.00 before taxes. I will never order from them again, ever. They ruined my surprise for a family member on a very important day. I am heart broken.

I emailed customer service to ask about the ingredients of their Truffles so I could make sure a family member could eat them (two allergies) and they emailed me back that day. I ordered them for Mothers Day only a week in advance, but they were as good as their word. The items that I chose said they would be delivered by Mothers Day and they were, with a day to spare. I'm so glad they take the time to mark the date items will arrive when you are checking out. That makes all the difference.
Oh yeah, Mom LOVED the truffles.

This is the second time a parcel was late to my mom, an 83 year old lady who lives alone and honestly relies on special little gifts like this. I ordered this item well in advance and still they just could not deliver on time! I do not get it, and there is no excuse good enough! IT IS MOTHER'S DAY! AND WE HAVE ALL BEEN ISOLATED TOO TOO LONG! These little gestures of kindness go a long long way and as you can see I am highly irritated. I will be looking for a quality online service to send my mom loves and hugs when I cannot. Wish me luck and good-bye harry and david...

Disappointment
May 9, 2020

A package for Mother's Day was scheduled to be delivered May 7,2020. I placed the order two weeks in advance. I called the company three times to get my order status. All representatives told me it was in transit. I contact Fedex and they tell me it has been labeled for shipment by Harry and David, but Fedex has not received it. So, my mother-in-law has no present. Will never use this company again.

I have used Harry and David for years and generally been very happy with their service until now... when it is most needed! I have spent several hundred dollars to try and keep family members happy during this COVID period of time. We have recently lost one family member (not due to COVID) and another family member is currently dealing with cancer in addition to being quarantined from her family members. They are one of the few companies who still are operating, however they neglected to inform me when they could not fulfill my order in time and then did not even do their due diligence and inform me of the delay! When I called them on it, they apologized and then after some gentle harassment on my part offered me 20% off for shipping and an apology letter to my family. Oh... they also offered 20% off on my next purchase... (like that will happen)... You would think with the amount of money I have spent with them recently and in the past, that if they valued me as a customer, they would send this one for free. They obviously do not believe in loyalty or customer satisfaction... I guess they are greedy and need every last penny even when they make gross errors... Well with this most recent experience they will no longer be receiving any of my pennies or recommendations for gifts to other friends and family... you have been warned... I truly hope your experience is better than mine... And if they see this review, I truly hope Harry and David learn that common decency can go along way with customers...

Moldy Cake

My fiancee was so excited to receive a basket of Harry & David goodies for her Birthday. A few days later we found the pound cake included in the basket was moldy. Not sure if the covid-19 virus was at fault, but I'm certain that future gifts will not come from H&D.

The Rose Cake

We were so disappointed. We ordered the Rose Cake because we have had such great treats from Harry &
David in the past. The cake was lop sided, overly sweet, and overall, did not even come close to tasting as good as the $30 grocery store cakes we have purchased down the street. This cake was $80.00! Ouch! Don't order it.

Terrible service

Would give Harry & David a zero if I could. Have placed three separate orders with them in the last month for gifts for family, friends and ourselves. There was a delivery issue with each one. Customer service doesn't care. They gave me false information two days in a row by email, as I was trying to track down an order that should already have arrived. When I finally spoke with someone in customer service, he said he didn't know where the other representative got their information, nor could he tell me the status of my order. They've lost my trust and my business.

Cancelled Order

I placed an order (or so I thought) to be sent to a grieving employee who lost her mother. Next day, when I never received my confirmation email, I called to confirm my order that was not found. Turns out the incompetent H&D employee had deleted it. I was so furious about this that I placed an order with a competitor and will NEVER use Harry & David again. EVER
A different scenario would include sister company 1-800 baskets.com where I placed an order for Easter gift to grandkids. Showed up 3 days late. When I called to complain, they refunded the shipping charge but never sent the promised $20 voucher for new order. Again-never will I order from these companies.

Never again

On April 2 iplaced an order which was to be delivered on April 8
It was not delivered so when I called I was told, oh someone should have notified you, it was out of stock
It was needed for Good Friday, so I asked to have another order overnighted to my daughter. I was guaranteed this would be done. I called the next morning to make sure it went out and was told it was out for delivery
When we could not track it on fed ex I called again and was told it had not gone out but would be overnighted for next day delivery. This did
Not help as it was a dinner for Good Friday so we could all have a seafood festival Virtually in This age of self isolation.
Now we have one family member with no seafood to join in the celebration and too late to order anything now. Three times the ball was dropped on this order. There is no excuse for that. And lobster dinners are not cheap.
Never again. Save yourself aggravation and order somewhere else.

Ordered Easter Dinners to be delivered to 3 different family members that was suppose to be delivered today 2 days before Easter. I just happened to look to check on the delivery to find out they were never shipped. I spent over $700.00 and Harry and David didn't even have the respect to notify me that they did not ship the order. So now I had to announce to the family members what a bunch of nitwits Harry and David are and how rude and unprofessionally and apologize now they have to go out last moment during a pandemic to get their own Easter dinner. Will never ever use them again and will scream from the rooftops about their incompetence.

Credit Card stolen
April 4, 2020

I tried to place an order online but the site wasn't working. I called to place an order on the phone. I gave my credit card information verbally. An hour after the call, my credit card company called me about a potentially fraudulent charge. It was! I have not made any other purchases with any other company for days, and I only use PayPal. So I honestly believe my card number was stolen during the phone call with Harry and David.

Spoiled Apple

Received a beautiful package from our daughter for Christmas. One of the boxes had 2 apples, one was perfect, the other was seriously spoiled. See Photo. Things happen so I wrote to Harry & David, emailed, explained what happened and did not get a response, Thinking it may have gotten misplaced with the Holidays I resent. Still have not received any reply nor did our daughter received an type of credit or refund.

Wedding bummer

Really want to give them 0 stars but no option for it. My husband and I ordered 5 cheesecakes for our wedding. I even called with questions before placing my online order. I set the desired date of delivery and placed the order. The money was drawn out of my account then was deposited back into my account. I logged in to Harry and David only to find my order was canceled. There was no email or phone call informing me of this at all! I called and was informed that due to the large size of my order my account was marked fraudulent and therefor had indeed been canceled. They apologized for their error and we proceeded to place the order again by phone this time. I was guaranteed over night delivery. The day before our wedding I find my bank account had again had the same withdrawal and deposit of my order. After 20 minutes on hold and a return phone call I was told they never took the code off my account from when it was flagged fraudulent. Again it was canceled and with no warning or communication! I was offered an apology yet again and a 20% off coupon. Needless to say we had to find our wedding cheesecakes elsewhere.
The only thing I can say nice is that the representatives I spoke to on the phone were at least polite but none the less I won't ever order from the company again.

I heard about Harry and David from a friend who praises these guys. So I thought I would give them a try and order my wife some chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day. I placed my order on the 11th and I noticed after placing the order it said they guarantee on time delivery. I felt relieved after making the order because I knew I wasn't going to make it home for valentines due to my job and my wife would be happy to get the strawberries. On Thursday I was looking for a email for tracking and because Valentine's Day was the following day. I called them and spoke with a very nice man that told me that they would be arriving on Monday. He apologized and said we will do whatever we need to do to make it right. I asked him could I call him back and he said yes so later that evening I sent a email because it was close to midnight when I finished work. The reply that I got back was that they could give me 20 percent back. I didn't reply back because I was going to wait until the strawberries arrived. They arrived today which is Monday and they looked like someone used the box as a kickball. She started to move them back in the right position and noticed they were molded! I called them and spoke with a supervisor and all she offered me was my money back or a new order. Well just to let you know you lost three customers over $60 strawberries!

Loooong delivery time

Wish I had read these reviews before I ordered. I thought Harry and Davis was trustworthy and one of the better companies for basket orders, seems that's not the case from the reviews. I was disappointed because of the delivery time, I ordered 10 days ago and still no order. Apparently have to wait another week, that's almost 3 weeks. Too long in my book, haven't they mastered delivery times yet?

Here I am writing a pan & the order hasn't even been confirmed to me in my email. I bought a food gift basket to send to a relative & it costs $45 to ship & takes over 2 weeks. So I sprung for expedited shipping which costs an additional $15 but at least gets it there faster ( I hope). The sales tax ( over $20) is predicated on the item cost plus the $60 of shipping. And when I asked the customer service person if that were the case, she had no idea & kept repeating the tax was based on what state I lived in. ( Duh).

I would have liked to enclose a card but that was another few dollars. No such thing as a plain white piece of paper within the package. If you don't pop for the bucks for a card ( described to me by customer service they all had flowers or butterflies on the front & not shown on website). They will write your note on the shipping label on the outside of the package. That is $#*!ed.

And the name of the gift recipients was too long to fit on their address form with the mr & mrs honorific.

The reviews of this basket & the company seem to be good on the net. But I am done with them after just this ordering, no matter how nice the product is.
