I HAD TO CALL THREE DIFFRENT TIMES TODAY AND I WAS FINALLY TOLD I WOULD NOT BE RECEIVNG MY THANKSGIVING DINNER... I just canceled the last of my guest, I will be doing Chinese takeout really incredible... I had to give them one star or i could not post the review.
I ordered the Gourmet Ham Dinner, 2018 Pinot Reserve wine, a meat and cheese tray with wine, and a breakfast box. The ham dinner arrived with the wine frozen and bottle broken because dry ice was place on top of it during packing. A replacement was to be sent in two days. It did not arrive. It is 3 pm the day before Thanksgiving, and the meat and cheese tray and two bottles of wine have not been delivered. I will have to go out to the market to buy these items because I cannot risk the possibility of them not arriving by tomorrow. So, I'm out twice the money and inconvenienced! Wait times on the phone are 20-30 minutes. Ridiculous! I will NEVER purchase anything from them again. I absolutely cannot recommend their products or services in good conscience. Avoid them!
Told me I would be refunded for something that was never delivered, followed up, they never processed the refund. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. Basket was supposed to be delivered for my moms bday party for a dessert table but it never came for the date I scheduled for. HORRIBLE
Terrible company with terrible customer service. Purchased a Thanksgiving feast with premium shipping 3 months in advance. Day of delivery arrived and went, they just never shipped it. No email, no communication whatsoever. I called and they indicated that the warehouse was having issues. A courtesy email to let me know would have been appropriate. Avoid at all costs and purchase from a more reputable company. They are owned by 1800 flowers, which has terrible customer service as well.
Their products are good, but their customer service is horrible. If you have any questions, there is no way to get an answer. Basic question on what the shelf life was for their cookies. Called, on hold for an hour, rep could not find an answer and said she would call me back. (It's been 8 hours). Went online to their online chat. After an hour of chat (just me, because the response was always, "give me a moment", "sorry for the delay" and finally it was "I can't find that answer". And then I was disconnected. Come on Harry and David, You can do better than that. Very frustrating. Just hoping I am not eating expired food.
H&D is an awesome company. The team are always friendly and respectful. Customer service is top notch when dealing with concerns or delivery issues. I highly recommend H&D. This company is always reliable and strives for 100% customer satisfaction. Thank you.
I have been a Christmas customer of Harry & David for 21+ years. My Christmas orders this year were delivered one month early. Their products are not inexpensive and I think my order should be delivered when I REQUEST THEM TO BE DELIVERED. NOT WHEN HARRY & DAVID NEEDS TO POST THEIR REVENUES. Taking my future business elsewhere... with a company that can respect my ordering request.
I ordered a box of pears from Harry & David to be sent to my mother for her birthday. The box when received contained a note regarding this year's drought. The fruit were smaller than usual and blemished with black spots, still delicious though. My mother messaged me a thank you and included the condition of the fruit, the note about the drought and hopefully I got a discount. I reached out to Harry and David by email just to let them know about the situation. I even sent them my mother's message to me and advised them that it would have been nice to know of the drought situation during the time of the order. Not only did I receive an apology but a full refund including the additional rush shipping charge and 20% off my next order. Harry & David will always be my go to company for any mail order fruit or gift ideas. Thank you Harry & David!
Did not deliver on time. When called customer service, they assured that the gift would be delivered by the correct date, and it wasn't. Also, paid for and filled out a greeting card, so they would know who it was from and why, and there was no card!
I'll not use H&D again for any gift giving.
What the heck? Why would you want to send gifts going to the same person in separate shipping boxes arriving at different times? That makes absolutely no sense and completely ruins the gifting for the recipient!

My order was supposed to have been delivered by yesterday 11/11 but the tracking continues to say confirmed. When I called customer service, I was first advised that it will be delivered on 11/11 of this year (well I hope so!). I replied today is 11/11 ( she didn't know what day it was!) I then asked but there is no tracking number and it doesn't state shipped, I was then placed on hold for over 15 minutes for her to come back and state "oh it looks like it hasn't shipped yet. I will expedite a replacement and it will be delivered tomorrow 11/12. You will receive an email with a new tracking number ". So here we are it is 11/12 and it still has not been delivered, never received the email but they charged my card again without permission, and I called customer service to only be transferred then on hold for 1.5 hours for H&D to hang up the call. So when I called back again, I was told it would be delivered today, I then requested the tracking number, her reply " I don't see a tracking number but you cannot just rely on the tracking number ". Then she said the "requested date" is today 11/12. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was then advised there was not a supervisor available to speak to. Then when I asked why my card was charged again yesterday after I spoke with the customer service rep, she placed me on hold…came back and said it was a credit, no mam it was a charge on my card as I am looking at the list of charges on the account. Worst customer service ever. Did not offer to correct their errors and said I should just wait to see if it gets delivered. I will be disputing all charges and reporting the fraudulent charges I did not authorize as well.
Received H&D chicken pot pie as a gift. Baked as instructed. Looked great until I cut into it. Collapsed. I counted 2 hunks of chicken and very few peas and carrots. Mostly potatoes. Doughy as it cooled. Gravy dried up. Very disappointed for a $44.00 pot pie.
Need a refund asap. The basket that was sent looks like crap. Had to go total wine and get another $100 gift basket for a colleague. Awful Awful. Total wine basket on left hand side. Harry & David basket on the right hand side. Same price but what a difference. Need to ship H&D back asap.
I ORDERED A WINE & CHOCOLATES GIFT FOR MY IN-LAWS IN NM. HARRY & DAVID never SENT ME A CONFIRMATION EMAIL. BUT, THAT SAME DAY THEY TOOK $140.89 OUT OF MY ACCOUNT. WHEN I WENT TO TRACK MY ORDER-THEY SAID I DIDN'T PLACE AN ORDER! I GAVE MY EMAIL ADDRESS- THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING FITTING THAT ADDRESS. I WAS ON HOLD FOR 45 MINUTES. I TRIED THE ONLINE CHAT-THAT WAS USELESS. THEY ARE AWFUL! AFTER READING SO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE PRODUCTS THAT MAYBE i WILL JUST ALSO FILE A DISPUTE WITH THE BANK & GET MY $ BACK. IF YOU HAD A ZERO RATING-I WOULD DO THAT! I SEE THE PARENT COMPANY IS 1800 FLOWERS.COM. I HAD BAD DEALINGSWITH THEM IN THE PAST AS WELL SO THAT EXPLAINS A LOT! THE WORST!
I placed several Christmas box orders 3 days ago. I understood gifts would arrive with Merry Christmas card in the 2-3 weeks before Christmas. Today I got email saying my gifts had shipped and would arrive 11/11/21. WTF. A week before Thanksgiving! I called customer service and got young agent in Costa Rica with 1-800-Flowers, the sister company. No speak English well. Got transferred to agent in Philappines. Long story short. Gifts are on the way now but another box will be sent before Christmas.
We received a H&D welcome basket from our neice. We were so excited because I had never been gifted one before. But to our disappointment, we found 2 of the cheeses moldy & it was obvious the the rest of the cheeses in the basket were old & tasteless. We thought, all is not lost we have a bag of mixed nuts. Upon opening, we found a dusty, salty mess. Totally inedible. We did not report to our neice as we did not want her to feel she had provided anything but a delicious, thoughtful gesture. Shame!
So disappointed with this company. They never give you an accurate delivery date anymore. I know times are difficult now, but just be honest if you can't do it, and please don't just add to the cost. Adding an additional delivery fee and then still not meeting your end of the bargain is so upsetting.
I was charged $30 for 2 day shipping.
Then received an email saying my item would not be delivered for 10 days.
I didn't FORTY MINUTES on the phone with customer service which was clearly outsourced to India.
The woman barely spoke English and did not one thing to help me and then hung up on me!

I have used Harry and David's for years and have always been very pleased with the quality of their products and customer service. However, I recently ordered a Halloween gift for my granddaughter from one of their sister companies "Cheryl's Cookies." The order was scheduled to be delivered on Friday, October 29th. The gift was not received so I checked the status of the order on the Harry and David website. It stated that the order had been cancelled. I had not cancelled the order, nor was I notified of its cancellation. After chatting with an online agent, I was told that they were sorry that the product was out of stock. I would receive a refund within 30 days.
I have been a Harry and David satisfied customer for decades, but the last few years of service are a disappointment. Orders are unreliable, go missing after confirmed... tracking system is unreliable. Item numbers for some gifts are changed AFTER you order the item, which confuses their system and botches the order. Shipments arrive after the confirmed date... or never. Fresh fruit is of variable quality... not up to par for the premium price paid. I have always received refund when H&D botch an order, so that is not the problem. But if you want a nice gift shipped on time with no headaches... Harry & David fail ~50% of the time.

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.
Answer: Why do you think any of these reviews have anything to do with Politics? That's pretty crazy assumption. My basket was 2 weeks late and that is not Political. It's facts.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
