I ordered a box of Riviera pears for myself and they arrived as hard as hockey pucks. I set them out at room temperature and waited for them to ripen, but instead--over THREE months's time--they went from rock-hard to rotten. I called H&D and they sent a replacement--which was just as bad--badly bruised pears with scratches on the skin like they had been used in a hockey game. Still... hopes springs eternal so I was anticipating that they would taste OK. Hard as rocks (again) at first, so I set them out to ripen. They never softened enough to be eaten, but finally turned to mush. Obviously had been picked WAY too early (which is good for shipping, I suppose.) I could have bought discounted, bruised pears at Aldi's for less money. I'm disappointed because the name H&D used to be synonymous with "quality". I will never order anything from H&D again. (I just wish you had a "no-star" rating that I could give this company.)

Just add me to the list of disappointed customers. The evening before Thanskgiving I receive an email that it will be delivered by Nov 30. They didnt even get that right. It showed on Dec2nd. I cancelled the order immediately. Who wants a Thanksgiving feast without family and guests that had to be sent away. They acknowledged the cancellation and said they would refund the money. None of this happened. Stay away from Harry and David. Totally embarassed.

I ordered 3 gift baskets for delivery to clients. The first item was $99.99 in their catalog, but the online order charged $104.99. The second and third items were the same basket. One charged me correctly at $69.99, the other one charged me $74.99. I called in to talk to customer service and had a 15 minute wait. When I asked the guy for help, he told me he had to get me to another person, and the call was so long I had to wait for a call back. The gal that called me back couldn't help me and only kept asking for my and the recipients information over and over. I asked for a supervisor, was put on hold, and then told I will get a call back later. I tried their online chat system and when it looked like I was finally chatting with a live rep, they disappeared on me and the process started all over. I will never order from this company again.

Unethical and underhanded pricing policies of H&D

Briefly, I ordered a gift box from H&D. I then immediately went back and tried to order another one. The price had gone UP $5. I tried on my phone... same thing (they have my number so they know it's me). I tried on a friend's computer, and the price was the original one. I have a receipt that shows that I paid $5 more for the exact same gift box ordered 3 minutes after the first one. Basically, they are adjusting their prices based on past customer purchases. If you buy something, there's a good chance that that product will have a higher price the next time you visit their website (in my case, it was literally just seconds later). I spent hours on the phone and chat talking to them, and they totally ignored my complaint, giving me the standard BS about how they "value my business". Finally, somebody responded to my concern and denied that they adjust prices. I have absolutely incontroveritible proof that they do raise prices based on your purchases, but only for you. The image is a cut/paste from my two orders, placed minutes apart.

$260 down the drain!

Thanksgiving meal never got delivered, asked for a refund twice waiting hours on the phone each time and customer service rep lied to me and I never got my refund for my Thanksgiving meal. What a waste of money and time. How can a company be so unreliable and straight up dishonest. Stay away from Harry and David at all cost

Order #: W*******1310. Plced Order 11/29. Got confirm email. Today tried to get order ststus online. Could not find order. Went to chat line. Spent over 40 minutes on hold, then got jesrked around by 3 separate reps. Called customer seervice. Ngot vm. No answer. I've had bad customer service before, but this is the worst ever. I will never use this horrible company again.

I was invited to a friends home with several members of my family for Thanksgiving dinner.
Once last year and again this year. 2020 the meal never came after countless calls from the host in previous days. Foolishly the host ordered again this year and again the dinner never came after ordering weeks in advance and countless assurances we would receive it. The hosts had to run to the supermarket the night before Thanksgiving and purchase and cook meal for several people. Terrible customer service. Never Never order from this company.

Besides not having the not getting thanksgiving dinner by the guaranteed date I cannot get anyone on phone for a refund. The emails seem to be automated and not answering my questions either. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Still don't have a refund trying to get an actual person on the phone or answer an email

Ruined Thanksgiving

I ordered a Thanksgiving dinner for 4. The night before at 7PM I received an email from them. It stated that our delivery would be delayed. When I called, I was told the turkey would arrive Friday and the sides would be shipped in 2 weeks?
So we enjoyed ham sandwiches and macaroni salad. We made the most of the day.
They supposedly will refund the money (fingers crossed). But would not recommend them

I ordered food for Thanksgiving plenty early enough and the order never came customer service kept giving me the wrong information kept saying it was on its way but then after days still had not received a confirmation email saying it was shipped. Once they did a signer to FedEx number it was not a real FedEx number so when I called FedEx they sent that shipment did not exist. Call to follow up texted also in their chat system and they were nice at times that were completely unhelpful. Said it was Fedex's fault, even though for the first two days they couldn't even tell me if it had shipped out of their own warehouse for sure. We didn't have our Thanksgiving meal. I would be refunded and still have not seen the refund (almost $300)

For anyone who is planning to order anything with Harry and David for anytime in the future, please, think twice and three times before you do it. We placed an order with them more than 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and the order was supposed to arrive on Nov. 23rd, 2 days before Thanksgiving. However, on Wed 11/24 at 5:30pm, which is one day before the holiday, this company sent an EMAIL to us said that our order will not be able to arrive until November 30th, which is next week. I mean, are you serious? This is how you run your business? It's one of the biggest holidays of the year and we count on you to bring us the food and joy, and we paid a pretty big money for it as well. That's how you treat your customers? Told us in the very last minute and left us absolutely no room to make it up ourselves? This incident completely ruin our family's thanksgiving and everybody's mood, they can't do anything to compensate that. Plus, up until this point, they have no intention to compensate customers like us in what so ever!

Thanksgiving Meal not Delivered in Time

Spent almost 7 hours trying to find out where the meal was... their website cannot be trusted to give accurate information about delivery. The company seems to have grown too big and can no longer offer the trust that is needed for something such as a Thanksgiving Dinner delivery. BIG RED FLAG... Do not trust them to deliver anything on time.

Placed order for Thanksgiving on Oct. 10 - this afternoon customer service ASSURED me order would be delivered today. It never arrived, FedEx has no record of tracking number. After waiting over 20 minutes on phone for customer service, she hung up on me before even taking my order number. My mom is 95 and this probably would be her last Thanksgiving, and thanks to Harry & David's horrible service, it has been ruined. I can never forgive them.

Sad Thanksgiving 2021

I placed an order for full turkey and side dishes to be delivered 11/24/21 for 12 people
For over $500. Today, 11/24/21 at 4:00pm I received a phone call from Harry & David that my order was not going to be shipped, due to shipping issues. I guess we can all eat pears for Thanksgiving.

I placed an order for a cherry pie for my parents for Thanksgiving. I received the confirmation on Saturday that contained a shipping number with FedEx but have learned within the past hour and 27 minutes that the pie has never been shipped. The customer service representative obviously has a language barrier and cannot address questions outside her scripted responses but has shared that the item has not been shipped as yet, Wednesday, 11/24 at 4:45 PM. Further, even a supervisor cannot issued more that a 10% refund on the $70 order because the current time is within the delivery window even though the item has not even been shipped yet. If you order from Harry and David, you might expect the best quality but you are definitely giving your wallet to an unreliable and unhelpful source that has disregard for maintaining the reputation that has been established in the past. Don't waste your money and frustrations here.
