Pears went soft very fast, olive spread and bruschetta and a small block of cheese were sealed up and stored in the fridge. Within 2 weeks all 3 had mold.
So I ordered something for a friend who recently got covid. I have a pending charge for almost $200 and nobody can explain why! I called and of course they have no record of it. The basket is supposed to be deliver today so we'll see how that goes.
This was a spur of the moment surprise purchase and I'm upset nobody can explain the pending charge. Customer service reps were friendly.
Lesson learned. Read the reviews before ordering from a new place.

Order from Harry and David if you don't care if the gift you order from them takes forever to show up.
This company was good once upon a time, but has sold out, outsourced, and no longer does good business. I cannot get a straight answer about a late item and will be looking elsewhere next time.
Every year my business buys gift baskets for about 50 customers. Harry & David told us to send us their names and addresses in excel and provide a credit card to begin the order. They then charged us without authorization nearly 7K. We were hoping to get a 20 percent discount or free shipping on the order but because it had a wine bottle they could not offer any discounts (not mentioned anywhere on their site so how could anyone know this). We knew there were shipping issues throughout the country due to Covid so we did not want to cancel the order. Then a customer called telling me his basket arrived today sending me photos of the meat in his basket. What kind of quality control didn't catch this?! This is day one of the delivery, and this meat isn't even close to fresh... I called Harry & David, they asked me to call all my customers and ask if anyone else's meat is moldy and they'd be happy to replace it... Are you serious?! "Hey customer, is your food rotten and disgusting like one of my other clients?" No resolution or money back from these guys. There customer service is a joke and we will not be using them ever again on future orders.
I ordered 2 items on Dec 10,2021 and was not sure I would get them by Christmas, so i opened a Chat with Harry/David's website and attempted to cancel my order on Dec 12, the agent told me I am not allowed to cancel my order.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
This is the second year in a row that my parents sent us a fruit basket from Harry & David. The quality of their pears is terrible. They are bruised and rotten. Don't waste your money on them.
Don't do business with this company. Product didn't show up and sat on hold with customer no service for over 40 mins… I would give no stars but that's not an option.
I ordered a gift basket for my customer on 12/16, the confirmed it would be delivered by 12/22. Then they sent me an email saying they have issues with carriers, which was completely false as the called me to tell me the item was sold out on 12/27, way past initial date of delivery. Post that I picked another item which was going to be delivered by 12/29. Today is 1/2/2022 and guess what item was sold out again. No follow up from them. Why would pick up orders if they didnt have items in stock, they could have just let customers go to other options instead of falsely advertising products which they dont have.
Ordered a specific meat and cheese basket for a Christmas delivery. Item was available and order approved with a note about possible slower shipping times. Was then supposed to be delivered 12/27, then 12/29. On 12/29, tracking information became unavailable. I called Harry and David on 12/30, who asked if I had received an email to call them. I had not, although I received plenty of requests to buy more product from them. I was told that the item was out of stock and would be available in February. I asked why the item had been oversold and did not get any answer. I was asked if I wanted my Christmas item delivered then. No! Horrible customer service and follow through from the company.
Extremely poor service. It took several hours on the phone in an attempt to sort out H &D's mistake with my order and shipping charges of over $179 while I had purchased "the passport" which guarantees no shipping charges. No agent was knowledgeable enough to follow through, and they all claimed that "managers were not available". My Orders where not delivered on time, even though I had paid an additional $33 for expedited delivery on a specific date (12/15). Another order arrived after the holidays, although the order was placed on December 11th and they guaranteed delivery before Christmas. Another order was entirely altered and other items were sent, without my k knowledge or consent. I still paid an arm and a leg for shipping charges. I have been ordering g from H & D for many years, but this year I have to say they win the most shameful service ever! I will never again use them to send gifts to my family and friends! Shame on you Harry & David for not training your staff, for not following through with orders, for not keeping your customers happy.
I received one of their very expensive cases with snacks and wine as a gift. The food products were overpackaged resulting in stingy portions, and much of it was stale and tasteless.
Ordered flowers on November 30th to be delivered on Xmas Eve. They took my money and my flowers were never delivered. I called and they said they would refund me and send the flowers. Three days later the flowers still aren't delivered and I called again and they said they were going to send the flowers even though I ordered them literally a month before Xmas eve to be delivered. Harry and David's used 1800 flowers.com to send the flowers. Will never order from either place again
We can overlook an order being late but to totally lose an order and have no record of it ever being placed is unforgiveable. Harry and David need to improve record keeping. H and D did not even offer to send a pear for their lousy service. One star is one star too many.
I ordered the Prime Rib for a first ever Christmas Dinner at my house 2021. I cooked it exactly as directed. I was so disappointed and embarrassed at the quality of beef. I cannot believe it was prime rib as it was so tough and overcooked. They didn't offer a refund and just said sometimes this happens. Well it shouldn't happen for $125.00! I will spread the word to family and friends.
I just wanted to put my experience with Harry & David out there. I ordered a very expensive food item that was opened in the cooler prior to arrival and therefore ruined. I needed it for our Christmas dinner and emailed them right away. I provided them with photos of the damage in my email and they completely rectified the situation by sending an email saying they would replace it in time for Christmas dinner. True to their word, I received it on Christmas Eve. I truly appreciated their customer service and willingness to make it right, especially with a time sensitive situation.
Placed 3 orders on December 19th totalling over $1000. I paid extra to ensure the orders were delivered by Thursday the 23rd. One was delivered when it was supposed to. With the other two, I received a Fedex tracking number on Wednesday which showed as scheduled for delivery next day. However, this is Sunday the 26th and my order still has not shipped. I call them and am told that the items I ordered are now unavailable until the end of January, and they can't get anything to the recipient before December 30th, and even this they can't guarantee. I understand that things happen, but I don't understand why I wasn't informed until AFTER the gift was meant to be there.
Two years in a row my family member has given us what he believes to be a great gift. What I received is these huge spoiled pears that I have had to throw away. Cheese and nuts were ok but unfortunately not the pears. This year I decided to call and let them know this was on the 18th. They said they will send out pears on the 29th they will be smaller pears. Why? That's not what they paid for! If that's the case, I would prefer they just refund the money to the buyer and then I wouldn't feel bad pretending I love the gift (trash) I received! So sad!
I ordered Christmas dinner on 12/12 with a delivery date of 12/23. I called them on 12/21 because I had not received a email about be shipped. The person I talked to said it shipped and was on schedule to arrive on time. I 12/23 I talked to them again because my food had not showed up, and after talking to 3 different people I found out that they had lied to me and had not shipped my food until 12/23. The didn't when of if my package was going to be delivered before Christmas. Now the person I talked to said I was going to have to wait until my package was either considered lost or showed up before I could get a refund. I will never shop at this place again.
I ordered a gift basket on December 16 and got a tracking number from Fed Ex. Then in December 23 rd I received an email stating my order wasn't available and wouldn't be delivered. This order had more than enough lead time for the shipping issues.

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.
Answer: Why do you think any of these reviews have anything to do with Politics? That's pretty crazy assumption. My basket was 2 weeks late and that is not Political. It's facts.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
