Car was stuck on the ramp for 48hours (still on ramp now), the mechanic called Halfords, they said we have the correct ones in, he drove down on my time & expense & they tried to give him the same ones they had sold me, he had told them exactly what he needed, they still got it wrong. Make a complaint no facility, this has cost me £1000,s in wasted time, stress and additional costs. They told me to push car off the ramp (engine in pieces), down the hill, along the road & up another ramp, just zero value. DO NOT TRUST THESE FOOLS!
Absolute nightmare - keep away!
I was quoted a replacement Battery for for my car on-line by National Tyres (1st Battery - Napa StartStop AGM Battery) on 24th December
I was then told me by email (below) that I needed a different Battery (2nd Battery Halfords EFB100 StartStop Car Battery 5 Year Guarantee) and fitting was arranged for 30th December.
But the fitter who came to my house said the 2nd Battery did not fit and I needed an EFB027 Battery (3rd Battery also StopStart with a 5 year warranty) that is now scheduled for Thursday 2nd Jan
But Halfords have now cancelled this order (below - again) as they now claim to be unable to deliver any of the 3 Batteries their OWN COLLEAGUES/WEB SITES have recommended. They claim that...
"National tyres don't carry out a mobile battery service this would be carried out with one of our Halfords technicians, unfortunately, Halfords cannot supply the Battery you have requested as they are only supplied through National Tyres"... is just utter gibberish. National Tyres and Halfords are the same company and the 3rd battery was recommended by their fitter who came today.
The Halfords group are clearly unfit to be trading in this space

I was given a £100 parking fine for shopping in Halfords Coalville, reduced to £20 as a "goodwill gesture" after I produced a proof of receipt that I shopped there. Apparently you have to find a computer to type your registration in. If you don't you will get a £100 parking fine for shopping. So the Christmas message is "DON'T EVER SHOP AT HALFORDS"
Booked and paid for battery change, 13/12/24 to be fitted 14/12/24 between 8 and 8 check web site for timing on 14th nothing showing, phone customer services at 10-20 for information and was told no fitters available and the battery would not be fitted, but i could re schedule for another day. Not acceptable to be left without a car and not be notified. Sorry cant rate less than one if I could.
Bought a battery for my car from them.
Then they tell me they can not fit to my model, too complicated! So I paid a garage as i do not have the tool to program it.
3.5 years later it fails, i return it under its 5 year warranty.
They claim nothing wrong. Manager arrogant. Told me start stop not working because of a window module (without testing anything).
I have it tested elsewhere as they told me to (battery specialist). They tell me certain types of battery fail in a manner they will not fully charge either on or off the car.
However they tested alternator and wiring, its fine.
Halfords still don't believe it faulty, wont do anything.
Write to all 5 directors, no reply
Store at other end of the country call me but as I'm too far away just tell me to go back to the store I went to before.
Local battery specialist tell me Halfords have no idea with modern batteries.
I call Halfords customer services they say warranty does not cover it being used!
End up giving up!

Under no circumstances buy car secuity equipment from these people. Purchased a security system for my BMW and not only did it not function properly, but it interferred with the electrical systems. After a long battle they finally agreed to take the equipment back after refusing to remove it due to not having either fitters or the experience to remove it. They then offerend me compensation which they later retracted owing to not fitting/removing the device, even though they have no fitters and they one store that did was not capable of removing it after telling me they could and me booking a day off work. All this aside trying to get through to customer services is almost impossible and you will be met with a whole new level of incompetance. Then should you be lucky enough (for want of a better word) to get a claim handler they will ignore you, lie to you and then reject anything they offer you. I would have given 0 Stars were it an option. I advise you check Social Media, TikTok and Google to see a corollary of these type of complaints. It is no wonder the store is going under.

The worst place ever for mechanics. AVOID. They say you have free MOT with a membership and when you go there, they try create problems and silly things in your car and will charge you a fortune with stupid bills, so you end up paying so much more than if you didn't have a membership or went to a different mechanic, the store staff are ok, but The garage staff is really rude and without experience and they look as if they hate their own jobs for some reason. Go to any other mechanics other than Halfords

Not worth one star. Awful place, no customer service, I asked for advice, didn't get it, just a shrug, as the bored Halfords person was keen to move on to next customers. Ended up wasting my money on something I couldn't use. Unable to even contact Halfords to discuss, no reply to emails... such a shame, as a cyclist (& motorist) I have always shopped there, will have to find somewhere else in future.(DUMFRIES STORE)
Not only this, they REMOVED my review from their website, rather than address the problems.
Halfords know I am autistic and have mental health struggles on top due to trauma, hence the reason a bicycle was so critical to my well being. However for more than one year they have left my complaints unresolved and it is still dragging on to this day. I first complained officially on 21 June 2022, it is now 25 September 2023 and still not resolved.
I purchased a bicycle from them and the moment I got it there was a weird clicking noise. I then kept having problems but their mechanical staff further messed it up with botched repairs 3 more times.
The manager of my now closed local store Dagenham Merrilands was terrible and declined to put it right, in which I asked for a refund. I was then fobbed off repeatedly by their complaints team that a regional manager would be in touch.
This went on all last year into this year. I had to scrap that bike in the end as it was unusable, I had to plod along for months upon months with that faulty bike. I have been robbed of money and use of bike and have no bike now.
To do this to a healthy customer is bad enough but to do it to an autistic person with health problems who cannot drive and relied on a bike for mental relief is truly cruel. What the hell is wrong with this company? I offered proof of everything including my disability, health problems and trauma events.
I have called customer services, tried online chat, sent numerous emails but still nothing. The customer services team pass internally to complaints but even they apparently cannot contact them direct other than internal message. The complaints team then fob off that regional manager will contact me, heard it more than a dozen times.
Disgusting company, you know who I am so do not bother with standard response to this that you are disappointed with my experience and to contact customer services as I have done this repeatedly. It is an unaccountable loop that openly robs and discriminates against disabled and vulnerable people. Maybe they think we cannot fight back that is why they try their luck? I gave them a chance for a long time to put this right before this review, should have done it last year. Crooks.

UPDATE 1: Ffion on Halfords Head Office review I left on Google claims I had contact 'last few days'. I did my upteenth call a week ago, was told I would get a call back 'within 24 hours'. Never happened. After few days I tried online chat, apparently they could do nothing. So I called customer services yet again, heard same crap I have for well over a year. Then get email, I respond, nothing since. Then we get Ffion wheeled out on reviews page to save face and appear concerned and that things are in motion. Ffion as a face of this robbing, disability discriminating company, why are you not in direct contact with the most senior people?

UPDATE 2: I have been offered a £30 voucher for a loss of hundreds of pounds, complaining since June 2022 and for contempt and dismissal of me as a disabled person! What planet are this company on? Utter disgrace. This needs to be put right or next stage will be 24 hour a day protest outside their UK head office and broadcast across all social media platforms. This is not just about me now but how they are clearly robbing and treating disabled people. I will have to become a voice for their disabled victims. Hopefully they will not under estimate me as I defeated a major public authority for the same. Up to you Halfords…..
I haven't had such a terrible experience in years. I had an issue with online order, they made me go to the physical store, where they were useless, ruined my day. On top of it when I wanted to submit a complaint they sent me some generic message with apologies which had nothing to do with what I complained about. I am glad I never made a purchase and never gave my hard-earned money to these unprofessional useless people.
I booked and paid for an MOT test months in advance. When I turned up for the test they told me they didn't have an MOT tester at that garage and hadn't had one for weeks. Left me with 24 hours to find another garage before my MOT expired. Customer service were full of bull and couldn't have cared less. Don't use these Shylock's.
Whilst fitting a shock absorber the Halfords garage broke my windscreen. They are offering to replace it with a generic rather than branded windscreen. Almost two weeks later and I can't get to speak with anyone senior to authorise a branded replacement, just keep getting stalled whilst the senior managers hide behind the unfortunate call centre staff.
Looks like we may be off to the County Court!
Car booked 1pm 11th Aug. Told to allow up to 1.5 hrs before collection. Returned at 2.30pm to collect car. They had not even looked at my car and told me it could take a further 1.5 hrs to complete. Ie 4pm.
This was Great Yarmouth Halfords. I reclaimed my keys and left totally disgusted. This is my first and last dealing s with Halfords Autocentre...Its a joke!
Bought a tyre repair kit in the store to find a vital part missing when I got it home. Tried to leave a negative review on their site but was rejected despite my being, factual, constructive and polite.
Partial delivery only and missing part now overdue by 7 days despite contacting customer service who don't appear to want to resolve or can't resolve the issue.

Hi everyone, just to give you heads up. NEVER ORDER FROM HALFORD'S ONLINE! Because they have the worst customer service I have ever come across. I ordered a scooter £38 online I never received it because the delivery driver delivered to the wrong address which you can see on the map. I called them up numerous of time and told them what happened they put me through the enquiry team who told me to wait 48h for an answer but NO ANSWER. I had to call and email them again and told me the same thing to wait 48h and this happened many time during 3 weeks but still NO ANSWER and today I called them 5 times and I got cut off 5 times I managed to get 3 of the customer service ladies names who are Pumza, Sandra, and Surprise who told me to wait and eventually cut me off. This is unacceptable from a well recognised company to have such a poor customer service. I haven't received my scooter and I've been ROBBED from HALFORD. NEVER ORDER FROM HALFORD ONLINE OTHERWISE YOU'RE GOING TO BE SPEAKING TO SOMEONE FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD WHO DOESNT HAVE A CLUE WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT AND YOU'LL END UP LOSING YOUR MONEY.

I bought an electric coolbox and mains adaptor from Halfords website on 1st June. It wasn't going to be in stock till 8th June which was after we left home to go on holiday, so I asked to collect it from Carlisle store on 8th June. However, when I got there I realised it would not be suitable for our car, so the Carlisle store cancelled the order, and said I would receive an email from Halfords confirming that the order had been cancelled, and I would receive the refund to PayPal as that was how I had originally paid. But no email or refund has arrived.
On 25th June we were passing through Carlisle again on or way home, so we called in and I spoke with them again. They were very concerned to hear I had not received the refund or an email. They checked the store records which said the refund had been made. As there was nothing else they could do, they said I should phone customer service and gave me the number.
I phoned, but the person who took the call was unable to put me through to the refund department because they wouldn't answer the phone. So I tried the chat line instead. But the chat person said they'd ask the Carlisle store to phone me, and there was nothing else they could do. They gave me an "action" number: *******. Then they disappeared.
I emailed the customer service department, but have not received even an automatic acknowledgement. I sent a message via Messenger, which has been seen, but not acknowledged or replied to
I'm really concerned about this, Halfords customer service have my money, and I want it back! I'm wondering if you have sent it to someone else by mistake? I have been a loyal Halfords customer for many years, their products and shops are excellent, but their customer service department is abysmal.
I pre-booked in advance a health check service for our bikes.
When I arrived I was welcomed very nice and the gentleman Rob listened to my problem in a very professional manner.
Without any further questions he asked me to leave my bicycle and he will call me later to pick it up.
Turned around my check and repair same day and bike was ready to go, even though the shop is heaving with bikes.
The team Levi, Rob and Mo are brilliant - helped me sort out a lot of my questions and bike's issues. On top, you get advice how to maintain your bike the best way possible. I've been extremely satisfied with each service I booked starting with checking our new family's bikes
There is professional, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Outstanding customer service.
If you want the best for your bicycle this is the place. I'm feeling very lucky to have this shop next to me.
I couldn't ask for more and I completely trust team expertise based on my experience of the last bike service checks.
Highly recommend and definitely will come back.
I have booked and obviously paid for a cam BlackVue installation in Ashbourne using the online service on 4th of June for a specific slot on a certain day or 13th of June
On 7th of June, I've received an email with an update that everything is ready and I am " good to go " on my chosen date …fair play
On 10th of June Saturday late afternoon, another mail was received stating that my booking was changed and moved to Derby on 15th or 2 days after …?
Yep, they did not even bother to call or politely ask me if the rescheduled appointment is good enough and I am available in that day, presume now their thoughts are everyone works 8-5 with 1h break and everyone is obliged to go and do whatever they instantly decide to do so …total nonsense! I guess near the time I was going to receive another email changing the date again to December 15th for instance ( say Fort Williams) and that's how the life goes on with them….
And that unfortunately was not the end as I rang " Customer Service Halfords " and yet again receive one of the most vague, ridiculous and unprofessional excuses ( lies) such as "online service should not been available, there was error in the system etc.", absolute lack of transparency and customers respect and loyalty
Hold on….I have got it now, you're too, too big, arrogant and possibly ignorant for my pity £600 so you could easily wave it on go without them? No problem, solution found and problem solved!
One thing, how on the earth do you still manage to operate, how?

While in for new tyres and wheel alignment (NTS Stirling) noticed two staff driving my car around town.and only one returned. When questioned told that it was for mandatory test drive! Later, having got no documentation re wheel alignment and no evidence of tool marks on track rods I had suspicion that wheel alignment had not been done at all. My complaint to Halfords was completely ignored and after two propts they told me case was closed - Manager had apologied for MY confusion! My only confusion was that I did NOT receive any apology or explanation from Halfords at all. Needless to say I will not be back - thankfully there is a lot of competitors out there. Appalling service
