This website is an absolute scam. I needed to change the dates of my trip due to my handicapped Dad not having enough medication to keep him alive during the trip. I called one week before the booking date, and they told me the hotels cancellation policy was a week and a half and they would not be able to refund me. So I call the hotel directly, that is absolutely not true, they have a 24 hour cancellation policy. The worst part about this - is they asked for my Dad's prescriptions as proof that he was indeed ill. This man has had two strokes and a heart attack. They still refused to refund me after lying about the hotels cancellation policy and basically refused to let me speak to anyone else. I'm not a Karen but this is probably the most asinine request I've ever heard of. On top of all that, they charge about $80 in random service fees that are complete BS. Save yourself time, money, and a headache and book with the hotel directly DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS SERVICE!
Unfortunately I wasn't paying attention when I made this booking, it looked like I was on the hotel website and it wasn't until I made the payment that I realised it was Guest Reservations (alias for GetaRoom)
Not only do they add charges when you book, in this particular case the website said it included a free breakfast but when I received my confirmation there was no mention of it. When I complained they just ignored the issue and just stated that I would have to pay extra at the hotel if I wanted breakfast.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, IT'S A COMPLETE DISGRACE THAT THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH THE WAY THEY REPRESENT THEIR RATE.
I recently made the mistake of booking through this site and paid $150 more than if I would have called the hotel directly. Not only was I charged by this "business" I was also charged by the hotel and now I am disputing both charges through my credit card company. This company is completely unethical, do not book through them or use any of their services.
The website flamenco.guestreservations.com pops up as the first ad when trying to find a legitimate hotel website for a direct booking.
The currency symbol used in the booking process is neither the one for the country of the hotel, nor the booking charge in dollars, which confuses the process. They charge more than USD100 in fees for themselves for a simple two night booking, and only offer a laughable "10 to 15% discount" when you call to cancel the reservation for a full refund.
I will repeat this warning on several anti-fraud websites and of course to my credit card provider.
I reserved an hotel in Vilnius today and after I payed I saw that they charged me 153,77 EUROS FOR FEES AND TAXES WITHOUT TELLING ME BEFORE!
There is a $60 service charge. I am very frustrated I did not see this in the fine print. That's on me, but I want to warn others before they pay for a hotel through their services. Oh, and they do not refund you if you want to cancel.
This Guest review charged me for a room, tried to get in early and wasn't able no rooms ready. Called them back for a refund before regular check in and they wouldn't refund it. Even when you explain everything to them and don't use there service they don't refund your money. Recommend calling the hotel direct and not using this company..
This place needs to be shut down. I was charged 197.00 for a room listed as 127.00, when I called customer service someone named Amanda told me there is nothing they can do for me! When I checked the told me on her side it shows that I only paid 132.00 for the room not 197.00 but they couldn't help me because I used a third party company. I'm not happy all the way around
They make you think is the hotel web,
They say they are gonna charge a price and once you give the card details and pay, they charge you about 100€ for nothing!
It says it's free cancelation and after a week I don't have any details about my reservation, they only thing they did it's take the money from my account.
I tried to call and also charges you a lot of money for 2 min and just to talk to a machine.
They take the money and then you don't know anything anymore about them
This company is nothing short of a criminal enterprise. I recently booked a hotel room advertised at $92 through what I thought was the hotel's direct website (they do their best to "impersonate" the actual brand in their urls). The site took me all the way through the checkout process and did not disclose anywhere visible to me the $56 dollars in "service fees" (yes…you heard me right…$56 for a $92 room!) they automatically applied until after the transaction was complete. Upon contact their "service" email, they tried to blame it on taxes. (Which is NOT true…the very same room through Priceline is $110 after fees and taxes - only about a $10 -$20fee). This is simple, obvious greed and deception. DO NOT book a hotel through guestreservations.com. If a service like this is something you want, there are so many others that are professional, honest and upfront with nothing to hide.
They overcharge you more than the listed rate. When you try to reach them it is impossible to contact them.
On July 6th I was in Salem, Oregon and beginning a drive to Medford 4 hours south. I googled the Hampton Inn Ashland, Oregon and the image for the advertisement below was what appeared WITH the map of Oregon just below. The image is for the Hampton Inn in Ashland OHIO. I clicked through on the image and made a reservation and when I went to text my daughter the address of the hotel I caught the mistake. I tried calling the hotel and NEITHER HOTEL would accept a cancelation. Next I tried contacting GUEST RESERVATIONS and they had only a voice mail message and NO WAY to correct this mistake. I left a text message on their form. I did stay at the Hampton in Oregon that night and I have been fighting with Citibank and Guest Reservations since JULY 6th to reverse the charge in Ohio. First of all, I have to wonder if this is a common mistake and if other people have not encountered this problem. Please notice this attached photo taken today, 8/19. The ad with the OREGON map is still up indicating that the hotel is actually the OR hotel but when you click through you are really making a res in OHIO. I informed all of the entities involved and each one blames the other. Still no satisfaction from GUEST RESERVATIONS in spite of the fact that the Hampton Inn Corp informed me that their charges were returned to Guest Reservations. Guest Reservations has sent no fewer than 3 requests for a review following one advice that their charges would be reversed on my Citibank card within 3-5 days. (Never happened.) Here's the review. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!
Do not use this reservation site. Unless you review the site carefully and read complete Terms of Service you will not see that you are paying an excessive "service fee" and that they will not allow cancelLations or changes after the reservation is made. They hide the service fee by listing (after the price of the room) a "Tax Recovery and Service Fee Charge". We booked a room through them on 17 August 2021 and after submitting the request noticed that the "Tax Recovery Service Fee Charge" for a $127 room was almost $50. The total hotel taxes in the location was 6.2%, so around $8, meaning their service charge was about $42 - ridiculously high when other do the service for no charge to the customer. Also the $127 rate was easily obtained directly from the hotel. Realizing we were being ripped off we tried to cancel the reservation and learned that well into the long "Terms of Services" it states they don't allow cancellations or changes even if the hotel will (in other words they get their service charge no matter what, even if the hotel is OK with the change or cancellation). There is no indication on their web site that there is no cancelation or change refund except buried in the Terms of Service. We called trying to cancel and after asking some polite questions were hung up on. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY THAT IS NOT UP FRONT ABOUT THEIR FEES OR CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY. This transaction was done by credit card so there are no photos
I was booking quickly on my phone and guest reservations presented as if it was the hotel site. Once I booked, I saw $68.05 in fees. The hotel told me if I could cancel with "guest reservations, " they had rooms available cheaper. Of course, guest reservations would not cancel the reservation so I ended up over paying for the same room I could have gotten directly from the hotel for less. I won't make the same mistake twice and hope this stops anyone else from doing so too!
It was not until I hit submit to make my hotel reservation a month ahead that I discovered any cancellation at any time resulted in no refund with this company. I tried to back out of this within 2 minutes of realizing I did not want this "independent" travel site to lock me in with no possible refund for cancellation, but they stubbornly refused, even saying it was the hotel's policy. No, the hotel policy is refund if cancelled up to 24 hours before check-in! I was hung up on one phone call, and now they won't answer the phone. My only hope is that our credit card company will rule in our favor when we dispute the charge. This is terrible customer service and courtesy. I can't recommend this reservation website because of their strict no refund policy and rude customer service.
This outfit populates the first page / top placements on-line thereby creating an impression that you are contacting the actual hotel. The agent acts like they are on-site employees when discussing facilities, room type, etc. I rejected the first price and was met with "let me see if I can apply a discount". The price he quoted the 2nd time was quite reasonable - he was quoting the actual hotel price. I said yes - not only did I get charged by these crooks but by the hotel itself. A transaction fee - okay say 25-30 bucks. The charges by GuestReservations equaled 100% of the nightly room rate.
After numerous failed attempts, I got through to a live person and was given a bunch of junk about "you agreed to".
Dates of Stay August 5 and 6,2021
Hampton Inn - Summersville, WV
2 Night Charge of hotel - $268.21 (includes taxes/breakfast/etc.)
GuestReservations Charges - $394.30
I objected and declined GR's stated charges of the $394.30 asking/stating "why are your rates so high", "that is almost $200.00 per night", "I knew your rates change but wow" I asked him, "have you remodeled the rooms" and other similar verbiage. The agent said let me see if there is a discount/apply a discount.
He quoted what turned out to be the actual room rental rate and I agreed. Then I see both charges on my credit card.
I booked a room at Fairmont using Guest Reservations, but made an honest mistake by booking a different Fairmont than the one that I wanted. I immediately (less than 5 minutes) called Guest Reservations and asked the agent to modify my booking to the other Fairmont hotel. The agent simply said it's impossible! She said that I need to cancel my existing booking with no refund, and then book a new room at the other hotel. So basically they earned more than 400$ in few minutes due to an honest mistake. Terrible customer service!
Added on fake fees after I gave credit info. I didn't confirm the reservation but it went through anyway. SCAM!
Do not book through this company, they hide fees under the confirm reservation button. I'm going to end up paying about $200 more than I should. These people are worse than scum and should be ashamed of themselves. Shady business practicesj*
I had reserved a room with a whirl pool and a balcony for my birthday and also it's the first time me and my wife spent a couple days from our kids. I did not get that room that came with a $200 service fee. Then I spent a hour on the phone with them to tell me the manager was going to come up and give the room I had reserved. I had talked to them already and they did not have a room to move me to. So they lied to me on that. Now I just was on the phone with them for another 38mins. Guess what they gave me 10% back and that's it. That doesn't cover the difference between the room that I reserved and the one that I was given. And apparently I was the second one this week to have this happen to them at this hotel with the same company. I do not recommend using this company.
