I bought a $24 Groupon this morning, supposedly good on Saturdays (today is Sat), for Benichopsticks restaurant in McMurray. Restaurant refused to honor it. I got home and got on Groupon's website, but there is no customer service on weekends apparently. After reading many other reviews of Groupon on other websites, I'm pretty sure they will never refund my money. If you give your money to Groupon, it is gone- you might as well answer one of those emails from "Nigerian government officials" who are offering to split $50 million with you if you only give them access to your savings account.
Loyal Groupon customer, purchased a local carpet cleaning service for $89. Took time off work for the appointment, carpet company never showed up and didn't return phone calls until the evening! Said they had their days mixed up and will come out the following day, took next day off work and they still didn't show up! Called Groupon to get refund, Groupon said since it was past 7 days of purchase they will not refund and maybe I can either give this company another chance OR I could gift this Groupon to someone else! Uh ok sure let me just give someone $89 carpet service as a gift. Still waiting on groupons manager to contact me, in the meantime I have told my cc company to cancel $89 from Groupon. No longer a Groupon customer.
I use Groupon all the time when trying to plan my weekends. I love the fact that I am able to do things that I wouldn't regularly be able to afford thanks to Groupon.
Didn't refund me for a vendor who screwed up. Won't be coming back. Bought a fishing trip and they had a bunch of additional fees and cost for my boyfriend and I. Would have been enjoyable without that.
No confirmation of successful order. Just an email that any reasonable person would infer means that the order was not yet complete. So I went to the site and ordered it. Still no confirming email. But my credit card has been charged twice. So far I have nothing. The reports that customer service will do nothing for you are absolutely accurate. The person wit whom I "chatted" indicated that supervisor would not refund either. But maybe I could gift the tickets. Or call Busch gardens Williamsburg so they would sort it to sort it out. So I am out either $80 or $160. I have nothing for that money - not two ticket vouchers, and not 4 ticket vouchers. Nothing.
"This Groupon misses you!
You left this item at checkout. Come back and get it!"
You should always check to see what the real price of the items are before buying a Groupon. Lot of their stuff is just regular price but with some gimmick added on. Other than that, usually they have good deals. I still buy from them often.
Out of five Groupons purchased, varying from beauty to sports bras I'm only satisfied with the laser hair removal at flawless advanced laser &a skin care clinic in Woodbridge, va. Wonderful technician and super nice environment. The rest were the most horrific to worthless money wasted (over $1000s)
I think Groupon should take on the businesses who do not deliver their goods and promised results for things like laser skin tightening or body contouring. Instead they say we have to fight the business, of course the business doesn't care if the customer is. It satisfied and only refunds a franction of the sum spent with them. I feel that Groupon is liable for passing on goods that are really just bogus.
Wow, I found this is very usefull, I have saved a lot of my money in just few weeks after I discovered groupon.
I purchased a refurbished Apple Watch from Groupon as a Christmas gift. The terms of the return policy said 60 days, but this was changed to 14 days AFTER the item was purchased. The watch is still activated by the original owner and can't be paired with any other IPhone. This is a security feature that is checked and cleared by reputable companies who sell refurbished watches that haven't been stolen. The supervisor I spoke with from Groupon demonstrated that she couln't care less about providing good customer service and refused to offer any remedy or even to provide the name/contact information of the merchant so I could work with them directly to fix the situation. The email that I sent to the CEO of Groupon also went unanswered and unacknowledged. Here's a free piece of advice that cost me $217 to learn: Stay FAR AWAY from ANYTHING that Groupon has to offer.
I purchased an expensive TV from Groupon--$1,300. It arrived in a plain cardboard box that clearly was not the manufacturer's box. It otherwise looked ok, and so I hung it up and plugged it in. It was defective. Horribly so. Weird bright lines and lights all over the left side of the screen.
I immediately called to return the item. After explaining that I couldn't just take this 70" TV to the post office to return and that it arrived via freight, the "customer service" rep said that the shipper will come to pick it up and that I will receive a refund 10 days later. Not ideal, but I waited.
A week later, I called to find out why the tv had not been picked up. The rep apologized and said that the shipper will contact me to schedule a pick up. That never happened, of course.
I called back a week later, and said that I was going to have to sue if the shipper did not contact me soon. The "customer service" rep said that he would "escalate" the matter, but he could not explain what that meant!
I then filed a complaint with AmericanExpress, hoping they can force a reverse charge, and I am also going to file a suit in small claims court if AmEx cannot resolve the issue for me.
Don't buy anything from this company--ever. Just don't.
I have received garbage from Groupon- didn't cost a lot, so I never returned them and they broke within a week (I'm talking about an alarm clock that projected stars on the ceiling.) It was tiny and a piece of crap.
Now I ordered joggers for my kids, the sizing was way off (and I used their size chart), they sent the wrong items after waiting a long time, and now they want to give me a prepaid label to ship back the items for a refund. Since when is the customer inconvenienced for a mistake that the business made?
I am deleting my app and never shopping here again. Horrendous.
I purchased a Groupon item and was told to redeem at the manufacturer. When I tried to the wanted to. Charge me an additional 40 dollars. This was an scam and all Groupon would do is offer me a credit.
Usually a good site to see some local good deals. Sometimes they aren't all that relevant, but the local stuff is often the best.
I've used them quite a few times and never had a problem. I've saved a lot of money and discovered some great businesses due to Groupon reviews. Of course, I always look at the reviews on the site before buying the Groupon.
This is not a good website. I thought they gave the cheapest price but turn out their price is higher than ebay for the same exact item.
I was charged twice for my purchase but Groupon would not refund because I discovered it outside the 3 day return window. Very frustrating. Abner F. From customer service kept quoting the refund policy. But he would never refund there double charge. Groupon is scammy.
Great discounts on products especially the food coupons are awesome! I use them almost every month. I also use their spa and gym coupons too.
I purchased a groupon for The Greenbriar with my sister. We had a family emergency and had to cancel the trip. My sister called and received a full refund and I have contacted Groupon four times with no resolution. The first three times they sent me through to a 'board' to hear my situation and was told that they would get back to me within 24-48 hours. I never heard from anyone so my fourth call I asked for a supervisor (Bree Grey). She was absolutely no help and told me there was nothing that she could do and I am not getting a penny back or even a credit through Groupon. She was actually rude and told me that I can call anyone at the company that I would like and would not get anywhere. Read the fine print and assume that if you have a problem they will not help once they have your money.
I've used Groupon for different items and have saving money doing it. I have gotten show tickets, oil changes, meal deals, plus deals on up coming events.
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.

Vouchers are purchased upfront and typically must be redeemed by a certain date, after which time Groupons expire. To businesses Groupon markets itself as a way to drive new customers.
