Bought a Groupon for a haircut at the beginning of April but neither I nor Groupon was able to reach the merchant and they offered me a refund after many calls back and forth trying to escalate the issue. The refund came one day and was taken back away from my account on the same day. I've been in contact with Groupon for months after this purchase trying to get my refund back and they still haven't done so. Not sure how many phone calls (back before they got rid of customer service on the phone), chats, and e-mails I've done these past few months to try and get a simple refund.
I bought a groupon for a local vendor for services. 5 days after purchase, I called to make my appointment... 10 weeks out! They were booking 10 weeks out! I didn't need the service 2 1/2 months from now and couldn't use it. I called Groupon to cancel... "too bad so sad." So now I am stuck w/ a $100 investment I can't use. Will never order another thing from Groupon!
Worst decision our business has ever done is Groupon. They do not support your business, they do not promote nor do anything but cut into profits by more than 80%! We watched as thousands of dollars went out the door. When we realized how bad we were in with them we immediately canceled our account with Groupon after waiting on the phone for hours, along with back and forth e-mails. We are about 8 months into it and still they will not cancel our accounts and invoice us. I promise if you are a vendor stay away!
Groupon totally rips off the vendors. Besides taking AT LEAST 40% of the cut, they take away another 4%, and then on top of that take the liberty of running sales promotions every single week, that COMES OUT OF THE VENDOR's hide, NOT GROUPON's, so after a vendor has reduced his price by 50%, groupon wipes out another 44%, plus promotion runs, so the vendor is essentially getting less than 20% of his original sell price. Groupon reps change so often, that you cannot ever get a response, and every new person changes the story, and says 'oh we never offerred this or that.' They also violate their own contractual agreements with vendors by holding back more than the 20% they say they will. Its really a very very very bad deal for vendors to do Groupon, bc they end up eroding their own price, and get very very little in return. Its never made up on "volume", and every deal a vendor would risk doing is way below their cost. Groupon buyers should just stay far far away from Groupon, and patronize the vendors directly, bypassing Groupon. Groupon does not give you a better deal. They are just scamming both you the buyer, and the vendor too. Only entity making out in this is the Groupon executives, who are taking 70% or more of the vendor cost, making the vendor have no margin, and forcing the vendor to make good on deals, that were never approved by the vendor. This company needs to be investigated by the FEDS for fraud, and corruption.
Nothing about my recent "getaway" purchase through Groupon was clear or easy. I purchased a hotel room, but the way Groupon does it it's unclear whether or not your purchase goes through, it simply takes your credit info and tells you to "sit back" and wait. Having never received a confirmation, i made another reservation in fear of losing the first one. Apparently, groupon just takes your money and then you have to wait for an unspecified amount of time for some kind of confirmation. Neither of the rooms were confirmed for DAYS, past the point of the 'cancellation window', so I didn't have the opportunity to cancel it until it was too late, and now my bank account was totally empty because of two expensive reservations charged at once.
It's impossible to get through to anyone on Groupon, they give you the completely run-around and live chatting with them is completely useless, they're just trained robots who have nothing more to say to you other than that they can't help you. It took a lot of different live chats, several phone calls, a call to the hotel manager in which she very reluctantly finally agreed to give me a refund, and even THEN groupon didn't want to give me a refund AFTER the hotel manager approved it. You have to be very, very persistent and annoy the bejeezus out of everyone there to get your own money back. And even after they agreed to refund me they tried to give me "Groupon bucks" instead of money. I demanded my money back because I would never use Groupon again, so no need for "groupon bucks."
I will NEVER EVER use Groupon again, that's 100% certain, i hope this business goes under eventually.
They don't help you when you ask for a refund.
Some Groupons have hidden information like the address of a business thats 3 hours away from City that the post has in the title of the groupon. In order to view address is to open voucher but once you open it they say you can't get a refund. They will tell you that its a final sale to keep your money when in fact a business says that its not a final sale. Groupon use to be good and went down hill. BEWARE THEY WILL DO EVERYTHING TO KEEP YOUR MONEY! STAY AWAY!
I purchased 3 wine tour groupons. We booked with the company, reserved a hotel room for the night and showed up early for our pick up (along with 25 other people). We waited for 3 hours for the tour bus, made multiple phone calls and never got a call back and our bus never showed up. The tour company finally got back to me through email with lame excuses and told me to contact groupon. It took me 4 weeks to get a call back from groupon. I asked for one multiple times (because there is no number to call) and was told I would get a call in the next 24 hours. After multiple attempts to speak to someone they called me back and told me there is nothing they can do for me and that they will not issue a refund for the voucher. Outrageous! I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told I would get a call back from them... I seriously doubt that. I will never purchase anything from groupon again.
When are you going to stop sending me useless emails and help resolve my issue? Your last email said the vendor would contact me in 3 business days. That has come and gone.
I ordered a Groupon for a massage that the provider made impossible to redeem. After speaking with Groupon, they agreed to give me an exchange credit. Unfortunately, I had to use it within 24 hours and there was NOTHING I could find that was a decent deal for the same price. So now I'm just out the money.
Just don't waste your time or money with these people.
My credit card did the refund. Groupon only wanted to give me groupon bucks though this vendor was not available. My advise: before buying, research the vendor, make appointments ahead etc. Always pay with credit card or paypal. Complain to Groupon about their refund policy and don't use Groupon until they clean up their act, have a US phone number and US customer service!
Beware and don't use them because after 3 days they do not want to refund even though they sell items that don't exist. Pay with paypal and/or bank card and do a dispute. I will stop using Groupon. If more of you do, they will change.
We have enjoyed many massages at Healing Hands,
Rick and Barbara are very accommodating
They always have wine and pretzels in the waiting area, we have enjoyed getting massages before a Friday night dinner in Sandy Springs. We have not had a bad massage yet.

My mother purchased a voucher for a boiler service which did not cover the south east. Instead of contacting my mother to make her aware of her error both the company and Groupon kept her money. This is deceitful tactics. Shame on Groupon
Purchased a Groupon for Jiffy Lube and there was nothing stating that the Groupon was at only one location, one and a half hours away from my home. Groupon wouldn't refund me because I tried to use it 2 days after their 'refund only after 3 days policy'. NOT TO MENTION, they sent me a impersonal response from who the hell knows where.
Lame. Lazy. Lacking.
They gave refund for the product which I sent back. Actually I ordered for 32 size 2 pants they sent me 34 size and they refunded me individually after a week. I ordered shoes and the tracking shows it is delivered but I did not receive the package, I contacted them they were rude and claiming that you alredy got one exception refund we are not giving any refund again and canceled my groupon account. It has low shipping services and too worst customer services
They accept all sorts of con artists and scammers they don't even check the groupons that they offer
I bought something a while back no problem. Today I purchased the Google Express offer. What a nightmare! They claim free shipping if you use the free trial offer, BEWARE. After you purchase there's no option to select or unselect the shipping offer. If you don't cancel they'll charge you $10 a month or $95 per year after a few months. I tried to call every number Groupon had and guess what?... the first number is a never ending recording of 25 - 30 offers then it ends. The next number says they're not using that number anymore and they refer you back to the number that has all those offers, a LOOP. Soooo I contacted Paypal and started a dispute, they gave me the number to contact Groupon which happens to be the SAME number that has all those offers. Basically you can not call and speak to anyone. If you feel adventurous you could pretend to be a seller wanting to use their service, I'm sure someone will pick up that line but they'll simply refer you back to the loop number. If you feel the need to use Groupon I highly recommend you do NOT use a bank card! Paypal or credit card only. BEWARE
Although they say they have some, like $10 off, or free shipping, you have to perform some other action, sell an item in 15 days or join a paid site before you get coupon. Waste of time.
After being barraged with emails from this company, from what source I don't know, I finally stopped and read it and saw a good rate for Mackinac Island. I clicked, got in, they decided to wait until I discussed it with husband. So I signed out with out accepting. We decided against it, so that was it. My statement came from the bank and they charged me anyway. After an investigation, the bank refunded me the money, saying they were not an acceptable company to deal with.
I was shopping for Whale Watching tour in Victoria BC Canada on Groupon. When I searched the item, I did specifically indicate I was searching for tours in Victoria. I also set the region preference as in Victoria BC in my profile with Groupon. I did find the items, 5 whale watching tour tickets, but through out their whole website and the whole purchasing process they did not even mention once that the Canadian tour was quoted in US$. Why would somebody do that? I didn't realize the currency issue until the transaction came to my credit card as pending. Later, they even charged a service fee on that. Eventually, I paid C$100 more than what I would pay if I purchased directly from the tour company. Tried to solve the issue with Groupon, and in total talked to about 20 customer services. Every time they asked me to provide the full detail of my purchase like they couldn't find my order. They only used template answer to tell me that there was nothing they could help. It is a complete SCAM website. I would give 0 star if I have the option. Stay away from it by all means!
Since Group On customer service has been outsourced to India, their customer service is terrible. I bought a salon service for $69.00 and have called the salon and left voice mail messages, emailed them with no response since february. I even drove to the salon only to find they had moved and their website was taken down. I was told by Group On that there was nothing they could do after contacting them 3 times.
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
