I have used Groupon for years! I have never had any issues until recently. I no longer trust Groupon or the businesses they associate with. Or would never want to experience their customer service the way I did today. Pretty safe to say I will not be using them again!
I made a hotel reservation with groupon for one night on the morning of. The transaction was decline due to my credit card fraud alert. I corrected the problem with the CC company right away and went to chat with groupon CS to get it fix since the reservation is for the same night. I asked the CS to reprocess my pending order, s/he told me instead to made a new reservation and s/he will remove the pending order. So I did just that. Few hours later, the "pending" order also went through. Now I have 2 charges. I immediately contact groupon CS again and once again, I was assured that they will fix the problem. The day after my stay at the hotel, the charges are still there. I contacted groupon CS again. This time they basically said too bad so sad, even though I showed them the chat record with their own CS. They still refused to give me my refund. They refused to own up to their mistake and misguided me when I needed them. I guess the only good thing about them is they sent you the chat record. I have enough evidences so I will open dispute with my CC company. Groupon used to be great start up company, but not they are just the same with all the corporations. Money and Greed.
Groupon seems like a great idea and a good way to save money-- in reality it is not worth it. If there is any issue whatsoever, there is NO ONE available to call to help! You have to use the app and instant message or email them. The companies that they use are unreliable and cheap. 2/3 of the only orders I've had on Groupon have been a horrible experience!
Since they write "no refund" in the fine print- they can screw you over! If the company does not follow through with their word, they direct you to Groupon and Groupon directs you back to them. NEVER USING GROUPON AGAIN. I'd rather pay full price and be treated with respect and use a reliable business!
I love how groupon helps you save some dollars for a lot of things. I usually get tickets here if I'm planning to visit a museum or parks with my friends. The bigger the group, usually, they have better offers. You just need to make sure that you read the fine print before purchasing or checking it first with the establishment.
Bought coupon for website (lego website Miniaturemegafigures.com, website required me to purchase above the coupon amount, then never received product, stopped receiving responses - don't see a way to recover lost money - will never use again.
I purchased tickets to a show and the show was canxld. No fault on my side. I sent email from ticket master that confirmed cancellation and was told some one will contact you within 478-72 hrs. It has been a week and i am yet to get a call or get my money back. Customer service is so scripted they only say when management gets a resolution then your money will be returned and now it could take up to 7 to 10 business days.The pretend as though no supervisor is available and if i want to talk to one call back thru service line. Horrible customer service and horrible way to handle business.
I got on groupon to order
Island Time Sailing. Groupon took the money right out of my account. Then canceled the order because they said it was to be refunded. That was 7 days ago. I still have not gotten the money back and they continue blaming everyone else for the reason why I don't have my money. They blame the merchant, and not they are blaming my bank. They are the worst people to deal with. The customer service tells you one thing and then another customer service tells you another thing. Really people. They are a joke. I will never deal with this group anymore and I will tell everyone I know about all this that Groupon is putting me through.Don't use them. If you want to buy something go to the merchant first. I wished I did.
I really have a bad experienced with Groupon Everytime I used it. I have purchased an order of 300$. I didn't got to use it or redeem it. Some order got redeem but I've Never even used it. They will let you trade in, only with a certain time frame. If you pass the time frame, they won't let you trade-in. It's says "it's refunded" but Where did my money go? Well, I don't have it in my Groupon's account, not even a $1 back. OMG!

Sometimes you can get a good deal, others not so much. If you're buying local deals read the fine print, not the print that's on the screen before you buy, but the print on the voucher after you have already paid for it. If there are distance, time or day limitations you don't know until after purchase. Read it immediately. Apparently there's also limitations with Groupon for you to exchange it or get a refund (48-72 hours). After that, you'll be told to give away whatever you bought because they won't help you and God knows we all have extra money lying around to give away. I mean that's why we are using Groupon, right? SMH so if there are restrictions, like distance, that isn't you from using the voucher for the services you bought it for, you are completely out of luck. Your only option is a dispute through your CC company.
Seriously the BEST Customer Service. Went on-line to FaceBook and they immediately took charge of our issue and made all issues disappear. GREAT JOB Customer Service Advocate. Thank you.
Careful purchasing from Groupon. Groupon does NOT verify whether a business is legitimate before advertising and marketing the business. I purchased a Groupon for a massage, went to the stated location, and learned that there was no such Massage business there. The address was owned by a Democratic Political party. I informed Groupon of this and also said the business had 3 other people come the week before on a Saturday looking for the same massage business. Groupon knew the business was possibly non-existent and complaints were coming in yet Groupon continued to advertise for them for a whole week at the very least (maybe more). When I told Groupon the address belonged to a Democratic Political office they asked if I wanted to still use my voucher. They said the merchant had confirmed 6 days earlier that they were in business. Groupon also gave me the same address that I went to and was fraudulent. I'm so disappointed in Groupon and the lack of customer service. I Asked to speak to a supervisor who said the same thing that the first rep said. The surpervisor tried to assure me the business had verified they are accepting the Groupon and then gave me the same fraudulent address. I asked are you not listening to me? I'm here for my appointment and I'm telling you this is not an address belonging to Green Land Spa (massage place). Worse customer service ever! Groupon doesn't care.
I tried to purchase my deal and groupon's site told me my phone number was not valid and to try a different number. I typed in my number a couple more times and then tried another number. No purchase showing up on my account, no text or email. A couple of hours later I have FIVE purchases on my account and groupon would not refund at the time (the sale has not officially gone through) and would not refund after the fact because the sale was final. It was a website glitch and I am out a lot of money. I will not be using them again. Very dishonest, unfair, and unwilling to work with you.
Tried using your useless chat feature with Gourav b and it was super frustrating. I'm using my phone to chat with support about a deal that I put in my cart to get. I had signed up for the groupon select and was under the impression that I would get an added discount at checkout. I did not so I wanted to see what the restrictions were and why I wasn't getting the discount. Your chat team is useless. I could not get links as he kept requesting or the chat would close out. I told him the exact deal name and he would not assist. Apparently, unless they get a link from me, they are unable to help me. I am very frustrated and have no answers.
This is the worst company I had to deal with so far. Cheaters in a very cunning way. When I tried to place my order, their website gave me a message saying, error occurred, cannot process your order. So I tried again 3 more times and the only message I received was the same error message. A day later they charged 4 orders (same stuff) on my credit card. My credit card company disputed the charges per my complaint. NOW GET THIS! The very next day they split the charges and charged 4 times, and again they charged 4 more times for the other half! HOW SNEAKY! I called the customer service and including the supervisor was NOT very helpful. There are thousands of companies out there that I could have ordered the things I wanted. First time I tried and NEVER again!

Will never recommend and no matter how cheap they are compared to others. It is better to deal with companies who has good customer service and honest.
I went to company that I thought the groupon was for. They redeemed it, then said that it was the wrong company and that I had to contact groupon to get money back. Then I had to pay full price instead of a discounted price.
Now Groupon will not refund money because i bought the voucher a week before we went.
The owner of the company also send them an email and still no refund. Never use this service again. If you see a coupon you want, call the place and tell them you saw them on groupon and most will give you the discounted rate because they don't want to deal with Groupon either.
Unreasonable. My friends and I tried to buy tickets for a dinner cruise at the same time. I was the only one able to get our first choice timeslot which became unavailable immediately for my friends. Even though later spots were available GroupON refused to change my ticket time or give a refund because there was 'no cooling off period' on the ticket. They said I could transfer to friend or family member - Saturday night dinner for one anybody?
Groupon allowed a fake vendor to list with them. I bought the deal. When I was unable to redeem it, Groupon deactivated MY account while they "looked into it". Seriously? Is that not something you do BEFORE listing a deal? So while I'm waiting for them to get back to me and give me access to the hundreds of dollars I have spent and would like to use prior to their expiration dates, I had appointments set up that I have to cancel due to their error. I will NEVER use Groupon again!
Groupon is a 3rd party vendor and if you want to dispute anything you purchased with your bank you can't! Since Groupon gave you what you purchased... the ticket the bank will deny your claim. So if Groupon won't give you your money back and the company won't give you your money you are stuck with the bill! Skip Groupon and go directly to the company and ask for them to honor the Groupon rate. Trust me they will and that allows you to put a dispute in with your bank if you are not satisfied.
Terrible Customer Service. Chat line with Maria Camila R and she basically lied to me concerning the refund policy. If Voucher expires, normally 1 year the value is only what you pay for it. If merchant refuses to honor (out of business, etc) they will refund initial amount.
She said no if voucher expires you cannot receive a refund but I am looking at my Voucher as she is chatting and it was not what she was typing. These guys give legitimate online sellers a bad reputation. Stay away... stay far away.
Groupon seems to attract a lot of terrible companies peddling junk. There may be occasional good merchant/product but more than big majority of the stuff is just junk.
And, when they give refunds, they never return money back - they give some stupid credit that can be used for other Groupon junk. Basically, this company is a scam, IMO
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?

Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.

Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!

I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
