I lost my job due to coronavirus and they refuse to give refunds despite the fact that I cannot pay rent. Completely heartless. I will never use groupon again. They don't care about their customers at all and are very hard to even get a hold of. There is no phone to contact and their website is useless. The dumbass on the livechat was also useless. All they offered was groupon bucks as a "refund" what good is that? I cant pay rent with groupon bucks.

I had a scheduled trip for 3/27/20 to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and hotel stay at Snow King Mountain Resort. (Snow King Mountain Resort has been very professional and prompt in the responses.) I purchased the hotel stay via Groupon. Due to Corona virus outbreak all ski resorts are closed. As well authorities discourage non-essential travel because it is a health risk. I am trying to get a hold of someone for a refund. There is no customer support. You cannot call and speak to anyone if you call their number. You cannot email anyone at *******@groupon.com because they send you a return email directing you to their online support at groupon.com/support. At that page you will find the following message:

We're experiencing higher than normal wait times due to Coronavirus. You can reach us via email and chat. We appreciate your patience.

INSANITY

I am out $153.00 because I trusted to do business in good faith. UNPROFESSIONAL

I was told by one customer service rep that while they couldn't refund my card they could give me credit to a future service. Then I got a separate email essentially saying that my Groupon expired and thus it was my fault. Obviously I couldn't use my Groupon a week ago (one week before it expired) because I was in MANDATORY SHELTER IN PLACE. Come on really? You're now penalizing people during COVID-19? I bet you'll get a lot of legal action coming your way.

Please wake up and do what is right.
Either extend the vouchers or refund with Groupon Bucks.

Because of COVID-19 Coronavirus I cannot use my Vouchers and a few of them are expiring soon. I am a Senior person and I have advised by my Government to isolate myself so I can't use my vouchers & Groupon doesn't want to do anything to help me. Just big talk & using words like if eligible. If my situation is not eligible then what is. You will be losing a lot of good clients of yours. I have been using Groupon for the last at least 10 years. Hope Groupon will reconsider this before it is too late.

Well I must say I am very disappointed with the help I I received during these difficult days. I have been contacting Groupon for 3 days and I was promised service but I have been ignored. I will no longer be a customer. It is 30 minutes before my reservation and I will be staring at walls locked in a hotel room with no services and no where to go. Thank you for your time ignoring my requests. I will be sure to spread the word on social media. I wasted almost $200 canadian dollars on this Groupon but i can see you don't value your customers. Thanks for an extremely disappointing experience.

Covid19 who cares

If you have booked a hotel or a vacation with these people it does not matter if the hotels shut down, the towns shut down or even if CDC recommends you do not go there! You are out your money because Groupon has no heart and aims to keep you money if you go or not. There sticking to there NON refundable policy? Well they can stick that where the sun don't shine! Keep up your good business dealings! We will be spreading business plans with others, many others.

I recently paid for a voucher from Groupon which I used to fulfill a pesonalized order from a merchant who ignored the personalized instructions possibly conflating them with another order.

The merchant was unresponsive to requests to correctly fulfill the order- what I received was worthless to me. Since the merchant was not interested in having the order returned I prevailed upon Groupon to intervene.

Groupon refused. I would assume that when Groupon contracts with a merchant there is some agreement between the two to engage in sound business practices as, due the partnership of the two companies, the actions of one reflect upon the other.

The customer is not always right but when s/he is Groupon ought to be an advocate for the customer.

I have exchanged numerous e-mails with groupon support site, but couldn't print the pre-paid return label as their website to print this label did not work.
As a summary, they sell bad quality products which you can't return. They advertise % 80 cotton but this was made of totally synthetic material.

I received a notification of a 25% off discount for groupons bought that day. I got my order and when I checked out there was no discount. When inquired I was told that the discount not apply to that particular product (sorry). My card had declined the transaction anyway, so I thought it was over. A couple of days later I find that groupon ran my card until it was approved. When contacted support they tell me that the transaction is non-refundable. I have been going back and forth (no progress) with them about refunding this transaction. I will never purchase anything using Groupon and I urge you to do the same.

Groupon is the worst!

Groupon is a scam! I reported them to the BBB and their responses are the same BS over and over..."Groupon stated, "we have offered a solution which isn't satisfactory to your needs so we consider the matter closed." They didn't offer me anything but the same useless words you can find on their website. My complain to the BBB is listed below:
I have several Groupon vouchers, I didn't use and I want to trade them in for Groupon Bucks. This will allow me to use the money I paid on something else. Groupon's so called customer service is a joke, l've emailed, tried to call and get a recording with no option to talk to a live person. Groupon has marked several vouchers used which I never used and some say they were refunded which never happened. I feel they are keeping my money for services I didn't use or have expired. Groupon states you can redeem expired vouchers for what you paid to buy something else. They make it virtually impossible for me to get my money credited to my account. I am sure many people just give up trying, Groupon wins and scams you out of your money.

1) They hide behind chat to behave capriciously. Live agents steadfastly deny correction for even the most egregious situations.

2) Recently their backend database crashed. Save the paper use their app defaulted to a snapshot data a few weeks old - old used groupons were available again, new unused groupons vanished. I couldn't use my $15 groupon when the lunch bill came had to pay $15 out of pocket. Later that evening, the current data was restored. Rep refused any credit or compensation for the failure of their IT back end - apparently that burden is pushed on to the customer.

Groupon snapshot attached - attempted use Last Thursday Mar 5,2020@ ~12:30-1:00 PM CST (should fall in the time period of their tech crash). During the pendency of tech crash system message paraphrasing "We are having tech issue and customer service is unavailable" was displayed in app (No phne nbr readily available. Chat and callback optons were unavailable/grayed out. Cost me an extra 45 minutes trying to figure out how to settle bill and probing tech issues to figure out a way. Ruined the experience - otherwise the food and service by the merchant were good.

This deteriorating trend has occurred personally several times in the last 12-18 months. GroupOn seems to have lost its initial launch moxie which is replaced by a mercenary money making above all else pervasive attitude.

Buyer Beware!

I will never do business with Groupon again. Took $800 of my money and did nothing to help resolve a situation. Only would keep saying that Sorry, you should have read the fine print which is very vague with most of their offers and deals. Stay far, far away. Horrible customer service, impossible to speak to anyone and the customer service reps appear to be located outside of the US.

I bought a Groupon to learn American Sign Language. Every time (Like 7-8 times) I tried to use it, it sent me in circles and wouldn't let me use it. Tried contacting Groupon and couldn't and tried contacting the International Open Academy where I supposedly purchased the ASL class and I get no answer or the run around of where/who to contact. I am done buying from Groupon.

After receiving several Groupon mailings for refurbished iPhones, I bit... what a mistake. I was sent a fedex tracking, and the number tracked, literally all over the us. I never received, could not contact Groupon. Do yourself a big favor and NEVER, EVER ORDER FROM GROUPON

My product never delivered. I asked Groupon to provide either shipment confirmation OR send a replacement. See the answer below. Apparently not only they did NOT deliver the product, but I have to follow up with USPS. I'm sorry whaaat?
Groupon team, Learn from Amazon.com. Have a look at their stock price exploding. There is a reason for that. May be referred to their processes. It's not only about grabbing payments. It's about delivering.

Vouchers wont work

I bought 2 for £10 Odeon vouchers. Odeon would not accept the codes. I used live chat. Groupon sympathized and said they would fix it. They didnt. I was sen t3 emails saying hold on there we are on to it. I bought them on 21. 1. 20 and by 24. 2. 20 they had not fixed it. Back to live chat. They wouldn't refund just sent me a credit voucher. It hasn't arrived yet and when it does, i only hope it works. What a waste of time and energy. DON'T BUY

Additional charges

I bought tickets for a show $28 a piece after I attended show my credit card was charged additional $21 for the company not Groupon no where did it state this. Lately I have purchased serval things that needed to be personalized when you go to the web site to put info in the confirmation number Groupon gives you doesn't work this happened with several purchases very frustrating now Groupon did refund my money but it was extremely frustrating BEWARE
