I have ordered 4 items (as of today) and have loved everything... when you purchase an item, they show on the side of the order when it will be shipped (usually in a month or so) so it's not a quick turnaround but that's totally fine by me... I think the quality is definitely there and the prices are great... i have nothing bad to say and i actually really appreciate that they check this site and care about negative comments.

I have three problems with this site: you have to doublecheck order confirmation details the day you place the order, and no later; if there is an error in your order, you cannot change it (i. E., quantity of coupons in my case) after the date of the order, since Groupon says that the deal is only good for that one day. Since I was expecting to receive a confirmation email the *next* day based on what the site itself stated, I looked at my email account the next day and saw that my order quantity was not correct. I contacted Groupon, and though the rep, via email, was pleasant to me, she made it quite clear that there was nothing she could do.

Two, they keep your credit card number on file. This was absolutely not made clear at the time that I placed my first order, last year. Then, when I placed my second Groupon order yesterday, I discovered when I went to pay that they already had my credit card number! (This is shown in your account/profile info, but I had never had reason to look at it before today.) Very customer-unfriendly. I didn't see a place to opt out of having my credit card kept on file *anywhere* at the time of my first order, nor a notice that the card number would be kept on file, though if you notice the credit card info in your profile, you can delete the card (presumably).

Three, there appears to be no way to completely delete my profile! I deleted my name, but there is no way to delete my email address. I can add more addresses, but I can't delete them! And I can't delete my account - there may be a way to do that if I contact customer support *again* (after trying to get my coupon quantity changed), but they don't give a way on their site to delete/close the account. The best I could do was to unsubscribe from their emails, and the only way to do that was to click on the unsubscribe link on one of the emails; there was no way to unsubscribe from the account/profile area of the site.

Not the worst business I have dealt with, but some of what they do is pretty questionable, and I won't do business with them again.

Decent site, but flat $10 shipping fee, and an order placed on September 1st and I JUST received an email stating SOME of my items have shipped on Sept 15th WTF? I have never heard of anything this SLOW without advance notification. Will I ever see what I've ordered?

We feature an estimated shipping window on event pages, and order confirmation to give customers a preliminary timeline for shipments; however, if either shipment has fallen outside of that timeframe please email us at [email protected]. We get our apparel directly from the manufacturers in order to give our customers the best price possible, so while items may get ordered together they get delivered from the manufacturers on different dates. Our shipping rate is now a flat $9.95 all day, regardless of how many items you order; because of that, the shipping price isn't dependent on speed of shipment. The deals on quality merchandise are terrific. I was scared to buy there at first due to the negative comments, but I am glad I tried it. I have had 5 great transactions, and hope for more deals. II think the reason people have complained, is that they didn't read about delivery... Some manufactures take longer than other and it is clearly posted. Also not all items can be returned, that too is noted.

As a consumer I thought this website was great but as a business discovered that they will only let you on it if you do all the work and if they can ensure at least 50% off of something. We tried to do a groupon that would provide a customer $25 off a purchase that could vary from $100-200 based upon what product they chose and they wouldn't do it because the percentages wouldn't show high enough. We aren't a food place we can say $20 worth of food for $10 so 50% off but have quality items. They are really going to limit themselves to food and beauty salons and leave themselves wide open for some other coupon sight to steal their niche market.

Everything I have ordered came to me exactly when they said it would. I have ordered at least 20 times with them. All the dates have been spot-on. People, you don't get your stuff right away. Period. But you should already know that when you buy from them. But when you get soemthing that is 70%, it's worth the wait. As for their customer service, it is existing. No phone numbers, but every email I have written to them, they have responded immediately with an automatic-response email that says we will contact you in 24-48 hours and you guessed it, they did. They're a great website people, come on. Work with them a little. You're getting the best stuff at almost 70% off! And yes, everything I ordered was perfect. I loved it all. Thank you Ideeli. You are 4 stars with me!

I have purchased 2 deals and my co-workers have also gotten deals with no problems. I got a body wrap and dance classes. My only complait is the wrap didn't work, but at least I didn't pay full price!

I can see how the 50/50 model may not seem fare, but if you like the business you get the deal, I wouldn't mind going back and paying full price.

So far so good for me.

I bought a Groupon deal for a local business (a spa) and everything was fine but I could tell the business that did the deal really resented the discount they were giving us. On one hand I feel like business shouldn't have done the deal if they were going to be upset about it. But on the other hand I feel like Groupon might just be gouging the businesses. Either way I was not so happy.

I had a really bad experience with Groupon in my business. Having worked with many advertisers I am familiar with the mistakes they can make in preparing advertising text and graphics. When I signed up for Groupon, I specifically confirmed that I would be able to work with the copywriters on what we do best to portray our business positively and accurately. Groupon called me two days before they set the date for our ad to run, and running a restaurant, there is not much time for desk work in two days. I told them I had never even seen the copy. Once they finally got it to me I found many errors. They even tried to write about things we didn't have! They refused to change anything in the two day time period. I told them I needed to approve what they wrote about us in order to run the deal. They said if I didn't agree to run the deal as is and on the day they picked, they would never run it. So be it. I don't respond well to threats. They were pushy, pompous and could care less about the businesses they are advertising. All they want is their cut.

As a consumer, I think it's a useful site, and I've personally purchased 3 groupons. I, incidentally, have not used any of them so far. I wonder how many groupons are purchased and never actually redeemed.

As a small business owner, I think it's a ripoff. I was contacted originally back in 2009 before the Boston site launched. I negotiated a deal where they would take 10% of the groupon. It still seemed complex for the business I run, so I didn't do it at the time. Now I learned they take 50% of the groupon deal and I'm appalled. It's not even worth it to offer a deal anymore. It's a genius idea and I wish I had thought of it... but as previous posters have said, they take the money and run. They don't field complaints, they're hard to get in contact with, they are greedy (look to the recent GAP national groupon).

I foresee the Groupon culture shifting largely toward medium and large businesses, because those are the businesses who can handle a large volume of groupons. The more groupons they can sell at a higher price per day, the higher the profit.

I ordered a Gap groupon last week, went to use it and it did not work. Talk about a waste of time. To drive down to the mall, brave the crazy back-to-school shoppers and get to the register to have the manager think you are trying to scam them with a used Groupon. I had just received it in my email and am an honest person. Groupon should either have their vendors better trained on how to handle problems with Groupons or "fix it" on the back end. When I emailed them to explain my situation, I just got a refund. No "sorry for the incovenience", no "it's our fault, not yours", nothing. Glad I at least got the refund- but be weary of this site!

Once you have an item that needs returning you find out that you get store credit only but worse: if the price of the item you purchase is not as high as the price of the returned merchandise, you loose the difference. They consider it redeemed. In my book that's called robbery.

I bought the CuisineArt knives from O Magazine's 31 August #. It arrived promptly BUT is obviously a returned item. The box was ripped and poorly "mended" w/ packing tape, the knife block is filthy including dirt inside the knife slots, several knives show evidence of previous use. (Etching, etc.) Adding insult to injury - 3 knives have bent tips. No way to reach them. The deal sounded great but... I wonder if Oprah has had complaints. Anyone else have problems w/ knife set?

Bought a dress

Bought a dress. Perfect transaction. Came in less than one week. Exactly as described. Site requires a mature person who has read the terms- no refunds, only credits given, range of delivery times, due to nature of site-fantastic deals on high end merchandise and designer clothing not normally available to average consumer- you have to have some flexibility. Know what you want, know your body type, do not try to return worn clothing. Keep all tags and packaging. Items are leftovers from shows etc. so sometimes they cannot get their hands on merchandise due to competing interests from other sites. You are going to have some disappointments due to competition for a limited resource. I know I will win some and lose some. Something else will come along if you miss out on a bargain and what bargains. LOVE THIS SITE. With two girls and myself, a great way to be on the runway at home for a fraction of the cost.

I just had my first experience with ideeli.com and I have nothing to complain about. I ordered a dress by Hype. The very next day (8/12) I received an emailing stating that my dress had shipped. I received the dress today (8/16) and it looks perfect! I ordered this dress for my honeymoon so I wasn't really on the "hunt" for that designer item that I've been longing for, like many people do on this site.
After I ordered the dress, I found the same one on overstock.com but it was $50 more on overstock! I'm definitely happy with my order and cannot way to look hot in my dress in St Lucia!

This company has a great idea with horrible I would even go as far to say unethical practices! I received my purchased items all except 3. All items were shipped in the same box. The box and contents were perfectly in tact. The packing tap was not disturbed at all and all products within the box were pleasantly packed. So the issue must be that the items were never packed in the first place. I told this to ideeli, but they disregarded the facts and took no reaponsiblity. They disregarded all the facts and pinned the mistake on UPS! So UPS took the blame and eats the cost of ideeli's problems. Ideeli gets off Scott free with out a hitch.

This website is clearly a scam. The business model relies on customers purchases expiring and just taking their money. Each groupon offer should clearly state when the purchase expires, in a way that can not be missed. Entirely dishonest business.

I see that all of my other reviews have been taken off. I wrote another on 21 August about an order being shipped that expired on 1 September 2010. I was wrong. Oops. It did not ship until today! MY bad. Who knows when I will get and again it expires in 9 days. How in the___ ( fill it in) am I going to use $50.00 worth of eat-out coupons in 9 days. That is assuming I receive these tomorrow. I do not have the inclination let alone the money to eat out every night for 9 days. Ideeli has out classed themselves. I am trying to cancel my order and get credit for it but I doubt that will happen. We will see.

My ideeli shipment order that I am waiting on, though technically processed today--really physically left UPS today. And when I checked on my Ideeli.com account on my order, I now have only *13* days left for returns!

That's VERY unethical. That means by the time I receive my order, in 6 days, I'll only have 6 days to send any returns back--not a full 14. Buyer Beware! They don't advertise this at all!

And they have the slowest processing and shipping dates of *ALL* the Budget Luxury shipping sites (Ruelala, Gilt, Hautelook, etc)! Keep that in mind before you buy!

I have no problem with their customer service... I bought one item and received it before the "expected shipping dates"... my problem is with some of the prices... DO YOUR RESEARCH ONLINE before you buy to make sure you're getting the lowest price. A couple of weeks ago they had a French Connection dress that was selling for a lower price on the French Connection website... and today they have a corso como sandal that is selling for a lower price on the corso como website (and the designers are offering free shipping)... I sent customer service a message about this, and they just thanked me for my thoughts! So, at random I decided to research another item on sale, Donna Karan black slide ons (on sale now)... and its selling at endless.com for about $35 lower + free shipping! All I'm saying is... do your research. I just saved about $15 by buying the sandals from corso como. Maybe with higher end products (e.g. Gucci, etc.) their deals are the best... I don't know.

Hi: Bringing you the best value we can is very important to us, and the vast majority of items we offer are by far the lowest prices to be found. Our merchant team researches a number of different sources for every event in order to give our members as much value as possible.

We’ve found that these misunderstandings usually occur due to various factors. The item that you’ve found for a lower price on another site may be from a different season, be made from different materials, or is in some subtle way a different style even though it is the same brand that ideeli is selling. In addition, in those rare cases, like French Connection, when we find out that our prices are not the best, we do everything we can to correct the issue. This means lowering the prices in a live sale and crediting members who may have bought an item at the higher price on our site.
