Several months ago I wrote an extremely critical review of GROUPON due to what appeared to be their insensitivity and failure to acknowledge that the BOBSWEEP robotic vac I bought thru GROUPON completely failed after 3 weeks of operation, thus required they reimburse me the money I paid for it. Initially, I was told that GROUPON only allowed 2 weeks for returns/reimbursements. I had several email exchanges with GROUPON, all of them led me to believe I was stuck with the dead BOBSWEEP vac. At that point, I posted on SiteJabber my crappy and frustrating GROUPON experience; I felt it was my duty to warn potential customers to beware of making any substantial purchases through GROUPON. Now, in all fairness, I feel it is my duty to report that GROUPON ultimately did the right thing and accepted a return of the dead BOBSWEEP vac, and issued me a full refund. Good for GROUPON! I just wish they had not made it so hard. The BOBSWEEP should not have died after 3 weeks... I wonder what I would have had to do if the thing had died after 3 months? I feel certain that I would have had to eat the loss. Unfortunately for GROUPON, I no longer have faith that they will back up what they sell - I hope they recalibrate and find a way to stand behind what they vend.
Groupon has some decent deals from time to time. And other times, not. I found a "deal" that was nothing close to a deal, wrote a review and then had it rejected. So be wary of the company's review system. 2 stars off for shady practices.
I've been a member of Groupon since they launched, and other than a few interesting offers here and there, it's pretty forgettable. The offers were so much the same that I stopped reading it altogether, so maybe it's changed in the past year? It was a great idea to start, but has declined to 'meh' status since then. Most of the offers they had were no better than the offers you could get on the advertising companies' own websites, so... what's the point?
We have been trying to come to a resolution for over a month now for tickets we purchased for flights to Iceland. We were NEVER given a promo code to use the groupon. Tuesday we were told that we should have contacted them sooner as there is nothing they can do now... what did the last month count for?! Today, the only response I have received in their "chat" is telling me that the expiration date is in the fine print. I realize that. I WAS NOT ABLE to use the Groupon within that time frame.
Great deals, but you have to watch some of their Goods. Not always as great as they sound.
I ordered 2 Serta mattress sets which was over $1200. I read on their site that delivery would be in process about 2 days after ordering. I contacted customer service and told them that I was moving on the 2nd of May and that I need to change my delivery address. They told me no and that the mattresses would just be returned and I would eventually get a refund. I sent 3 more emails asking why and got the same response. I called 3 times after delivery company said that my shipment was due to be delivered on the 5th, but that they needed to verify with Groupon my new address. Groupon refused to talk to delivery company and customer service rep would not let me talk to a supervisor. He said that he was on a call and did not know when he would be available. He even got rude and just repeated the same answer about returning the mattresses if they could not be delivered. I contacted the delivery company and have to go to Baltimore to pick them up myself! I will never order from them again.
I have been dealing with this bunch of disgusting, liars and good for nothing customer service representatives! They shorten my credit. I returned the poor quality items and they did not return the full amount owed to me. I have sent them so many emails only to have all these automated (it seems) emails saying that they had processed my refund. What they don't seem to get is that my complain is due to a shortage on my refund! I am furious with this company! Anyone has or wishes to file a formal complain let me know. *******@gmail.com
The Groupon for San Antonio Express-News is a farce! July 2016 purchased 52-week WED & SUN delivery. In early 2017, they started billing me. After lengthy effort (Groupon was of no help whatsoever), Express-News agreed that I had subscribed for a full year. In April (2016) Express-News started billing me again. In conversation they said they were billing me because they had a price increase. I threatened to report them the Texas AG for 'bait and switch' activity. They relented and agreed that my subscription should run through JUL 2016. This is a Groupon you should pull from your offering. Most of the on-line reviews are terrible. I would never subscribe to the Express-News.
Thank you Groupon for being a trustworthy site I have always gotten what I have paid for and what I haven't gotten was because I have taken to long and the groupon expired. Even when this happens they still try to make it right.
Bought an iphone then three days later i received an email: sorry, we're out of stock... you'll get a refund (that was before mother's day)... they kept me waiting and then refunded the money not in full... can you believe that? Why!? They told me may be it's currency conversion coz it was gonna be shipped from the US (i bought it at groupn Canada)... to make things short: they screwed my mother's day gift and ripped me off... now I'd rather pay more elsewhere than deal with Groupon
Superb Coupon site, always seems to be up to date.
Groupon is easy to use. I use it frequently. Fantastic savings from restaurants and purchasing concert tickets add as well.
I had $140 in store credits from Ideeli (which was overtaken by Groupon)
I have send 8 emails to customer service I got a response that my check will be send in 10 days. It is 30 days already I no check have arrived. Began to look like a scheam
(1) I did not receive the promised confirmation email, (2) I cannot edit the wrong shipping address, (3) my card was charged for the item, and (4) I will not receive the item I paid for.
I placed an order and noticed the shipping address was incorrect. I tried to change it by notifying Groupon. A customer rep told me that I WILL receive a confirmation email within two hours of placing my order and I will be able to edit my shipping address. Days later... no confirmation email BUT my card has been charged. When I contacted customer support again, they told me I couldn't change my shipping address because it was outside the two hour time frame. I was blatantly lied to.
Bought a deal for frozen yogurt. Went the next day, the business is closed. Right place, right location, etc, etc. Bldg is gutted, phn disc, website defunct. I tell Groupon. They refund me "because I'm within the 3-day grace window" and do nothing else. Um, no. You refund me because the business is a lie and you take the deal down. A WEEK later the deal is still up. I submitted the evidence to google and yelp. Both took less than 24hrs to verify my "claims" and post the business is closed. But a week later Groupon still has the deal live. I've written them three times. They won't take it down. Now that is STEALING. That is CRIMINAL. I will never bu from them again.
First I had ordered a handbag that is still missing. The problem seems to be that they use FedEx and then Fed Ex turns it over to the post office and the post office are idiots. It would be much better if they used FedEx the whole way I'd rather pay a little more money and get my product then have these idiots take it to the wrong place. And now they do not have that bag so I cannot get a replacement.
Also I ordered some very nice wide legged black and white striped pants I was really looking forward to them when they came in the mail. Unfortunately what I received was maroon and black. Which I do not like. The website still describes them is white so why wasn't I sent white. We are in the process of moving and unfortunately I do not have time to do a return. So far customer service has been very unsatisfactory.
I've ordered from groupon a few times. I never paid attention to the shipping stuff until recently. Says it ships within two days LIE then says will deliver within 4-7 days after shipping LIE! My last order took 4 days to ship and today is day 7 and it says it won't be here until next week now. RIDICULOUS! Don't know that I'll order from them again.
I've purchased a few services and items from Groupon and you just have to be sure to read the fine print. No issues there.
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
