Worst company ever.
January 31, 2020

They do not care for customer service. They dont help at all. Most buses and drivers for that company are horrible. Usually the bus leaves either too early or way too late. They are extremely unprofessional and you'd think once you contact their customer service on the phone it gets better- it only gets worse. 0/10. Even that is too nice.

They couldnt find a driver for 2 busses and ours was 1 of them in amarillo. There were busses there but no drivers causing a 2 hr delay so i missed my next connecting bus in tulsa and they acted like it was my fault that i didnt get there in time for my connecting bus. They rerouted me to go through indianapolis insted of chicago on a bus 5 hours later. The nis i had just got off of was also going to indianapolisright then and had empty seats nut they would let us ride that 1 we had to wait5 hours for the next 1 going the exact same route. They added 10 hours to my trip from this 1 screw up. Their customer service skills are horrible trying to boss everyone around like they have some authority over them. They forget that we are paying customers that have paid them for a service and in my opinion the sercive includes having a driver ready for the bus. I will never use greyhound again. Its back to renting cars for me.

If I could give them a zero I would
October 5, 2019

I would give the Colorado Springs Greyhound station a zero if I could.

Where do I begin. I dropped a car off for a friend in Colorado Springs and was told there was a Greyhound Bus that went to Union Station in Denver. There were two leaving Saturday, Oct 5. One at 9:30 am and one at 9:40 am.
1. The bus station in Colorado Springs should be in the third world. Think Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan. Dirty. Smelled like body odor. None of the vending machines worked. The gate agent was overly involved in her iphone and wore a tshirt that said, "People are annoying, especially you." I am not making this up.
2. The 9:30 am bus showed up at 9:26. I wanted to get on it and get out of there but she said the 9:40 bus was right behind her. Wrong.
3. We waited until 10:00. I went to the surly gate agent and she said she did not know where the 9:40 bus was. I said do you have a tracker or a phone number to the driver? She could not be bothered and said it would be late.
4. I called customer service. After a 12 minute wait on hold, I was told there was a problem with the 9:40 bus and the next bus would be at 5:22 pm. That is right, almost 8 hours later. I told the customer service rep that we could have gotten on the 9:30 bus as it was almost empty and she said the gate agent should have coordinated that. I said I want a refund, and she said I had to call another greyhound number. I did and was on hold another 15 minutes.
5. Meanwhile I went into the gate agent, politely asked her to put her phone down and to do something to help the stranded people. I asked her why she did not put us on the 9:30 bus if she knew the next bus would be 8 hours late. She said the bus left early (it didn't) and the driver left before she had a chance to stop her. Both lies. She never left her seat or stopped texting on her phone.
6. I finally got through to one helpful agent. He took my number but said I would have to wait 24 hours to get a refund.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER give these people your business. They deserve to go out of business. I fly a lot on United and thought they were bad but Greyhound set a new record for poor customer service.

DO NOT TRAVEL BY GREYHOUND LINES, INC. PO BOX *******, DALLAS, TX. *******.

Booked a bus for my mom today from Sunset Transit Center in Beaveton Oregon to Seaside Oregon. Upon paying for the ticket the confirmation ticket drop off location said Elsie Oregon. No address listed.

I called 5 minutes after booking and asked for an address for the drop off location. 3 separate Representatives just told me I could not change where she was being dropped off, and they did not have a record of the address on file. The pick up location was also switched to downtown portland (website error?). I asked for a solution, and was repetitively told they could only change the date and time but could not change anything else on the ticket, and it was non-refundable. I repeatedly asked for the address on where she was being dropped off and they did not know. It is INSANE that greyhound is going to be dropping someone off and CANNOT provide an address of where! They will not edit, exchange or refund.

I asked for them to help me set up a seperate ticket with the correct information and they REFUSED TO HELP ME!

Stay away from this Greyhound Lines, Inc.! They are frauds!

DO NOT travel Greyhound
July 6, 2019

Customer service sucks. The drivers (most of them) were EXTREMELY rude. Although I gotta give a shout-out to this one female who was training to drive. I wish I could remember her name because she was really nice. Anyway... The drivers RARELY make food stops. There was 1 food stop made at McDonalds my entire 2 day trip and the driver said he was only gonna be there for 10 minutes. He sat there for 30 minutes. Most of the bus stops only having vending machines to offer people for food and they are overpriced, like $1.75 for a pack of mms or $2.00 for a normal size candy bar. Some of them have over priced restaurants in them. I was starving to death and heading had a mean all day and it was well into the night so I payed $7.99 for 2 chili dogs. Had a 4 hour layover in New York. I asked the supervisor to give me a meal voucher and he asked me to wait for him. So I did. 30 minutes later he comes back and says he couldn't "find any". The whole damn trip I had to hear foreigners speaking a foreign language in my ear. I paid extra for priority boarding but NEVER boarded once the whole damn trip. An 18 hour drive took me 2 days. Yes they have cheaper prices but that is because they suck and their customer service is non existent. BUT if you MUST travel Greyhound because you have no other option then do yourself a favor and pack food that you don't have to cook and will last for the duration of your trip because Greyhound sure as hell doesn't care if you eat or not. Also all the bathrooms were dirty.

Greyhound Bus Customer Service Sucks!
June 12, 2019

I purchased a ticket on-line from Binghamton, NY to Richmond, Va and the ticket confirmation was from Boston to NY, so I call customer service and explained that it must be a GLITCH in you all system because of the ticket being wrong. Customer Service advised that the ticket was nonrefundable and it was nothing that could be done by policy and I would have to buy another ticket... reluctantly I did buy another ticket from from Binghamton, NY to Richmond, Va and the ticket confirmation was wrong again... so I called customer service back again and explained the situation about the tickets being wrong and that there must be a GLICH in the system. The person that I spoke with in customer service this time could issue me a voucher for one of the tickets but stated that I would have to take a loss for the other ticket. So I posted on their Facebook page about my issue and a representative from the company replied asking me to message them back in private in which I did and we went back and forth about the situation for the person to reply with this--"Linda, we are not always able to provide a resolution the customer would like and we will not be able to honor your request. We wish our response could have been more favorable. -LR"... I was asking for my money back or another voucher because it wasn't my fault for the GLITCH and I should not have to take a loss for $146.90. After speaking with Greyhound customer service today and the rep. Telling me that they could not issue me another voucher bc one was already issed for one ticket already... Ok, but what about the second ticket that I purchased. As a paying customer, I'm not satisfied with this out come bc when is it ever the customer fault to pay for a problem that was created by the company's system. FROM NOW ON USE THE CHINESE BUS or AMTRAK... I KNOW THAT I WILL.

Pros and cons of riding Greyhound
April 11, 2019

It's fun to ride the bus across America with this service and it's a lot cheaper to travel this way than by airplane or train. Also, you can save 10 % on your rides by having an online membership through their website. Furthermore, it's easy to book a trip through their website and by calling them and free Wi-Fi service is offered on the buses and at the bus stations.

The cons of riding Greyhound are that there are often long delays due to bad weather, the driver not showing up, etc. The free internet service is spotty; on my most recent return trip, I was able to get online at the Cleveland station but unable to get online at the next stops despite having successfully connected to Greyhound's internet service portal. Finally, you still have to pay the customary $20 fee to change your schedule in the event of a death in the family; on top of that, the agent I just talked to made an error on my departure time and said I would have to pay another 20 bucks to change that (despite the fact this error occurred on their end).

Since I live in San Angelo which Greyhound is the only bus service company, I have been a frequent traveler with them for nearly 2 years (San Angelo - San Antonio - Houston) and 99% of them were terrible!

San Angelo Bus Station: The bus NEVER came on time, most of the time it 1:30-2 hours late! I called Greyhound customer service but the bus kept coming late. The first and last time it came on time is from November 2017! Also, the smell of cheap air freshener in the station makes me sick!

San Antonio Bus Station: When I came to Houston bus station, the bus arrived 1 and a half hour late. I didn't mind if it's late but I need to go to San Antonio on time for another bus to go back home. The staff talked to his boss and they promised I would be able to get on the other bus back home since people in San Antonio's gonna hold the bus to wait for us (me and another passenger). I believed them so I got on the Houston bus eventually. However, when I got to San Antonio, the other bus had already left! To solve the problem, they gave me new tickets for ANOTHER 20 HOURS TRIP which went to another 2-3 different cities in Texas before I could get home. I was suffering from a severe back pain so I couldn't sit that long. Also, it's the worst way to solve a problem which caused by their fault! I didn't agree so they gave me another aka last option which was that I had to wait until tomorrow afternoon for the next bus! I said I wouldn't be able to afford a hotel room. They said they would let me sit at the station (with the cheap air freshener and rough chairs) for another 24 hours! Are you kidding me? Again, I mentioned my back pain and requested them to take me back to Houston where I was be able to stay at my friend's house. Because I would be rather stay in Houston and wait until the next day if I had knew they would broke their promise to hold the bus for us and gave us a hard time. But they only gave me 2 options (between 20 hours trip and 24 hours waiting + another 5 hours on the bus). It was ridiculous! I spoke to the staffs, the manager and even called customer service but they insisted not taking me back to Houston. The manager even said: "what if you came back to Houston and the bus tomorrow is late again?" I said I've been traveled for the last 2 years and it's never been late. And if they'd let us know the bus's gonna be late, I'd have other options. He said it's been late for the last few days (?) Why they didn't even fix that problems. When will they stop letting their customers suffer from their bad services? However, when I searched on their website, the bus to Houston that day still have available seats. At that time, I was done talking to the people at San Antonio station since they were rude so I called customer service. And she said the same things like they said and suggested me to buy new ticket if I wanted to go back Houston. "So you won't let me to get on the bus back to Houston because of the money right?" I continued "why ya'll won't take me back to Houston while the seats were still available?" She said it wasn't about the money, it just because they just couldn't! They cheated me to get on that bus even though they knew it'd be late and didn't even keep their promise to hold the other bus for us. We were literally cheated by them! Eventually, I chose to go reschedule my ticket to tomorrow. I came back from Houston on a different bus company. Great service, new bus, smell good, cheaper, shorter travel time!

Moreover, while I was arguing with the staffs, someone just stole my Anker power bank from my backpack I left nearby! (I wasn't be able to carry backpack long due to my back pain.) I didn't find out until I got on the bus (from different company) back to Houston!

Also, It's the cheap air freshener again. It's too strong you are not able to ignore it. But not like in San Angelo, you have to get in line an amount of time before it departs and you can't stay outside since those are busy streets. I always had to cover my nose with face mask or the upper part of my shirt. Some people stared at me, some shows their thumbs up to show their agreements.

Houston bus station: The air freshener is not too
Bad. No parking lot for picking up or dropping off. Too many homeless people disturb. The bus is not usually late but it was late one time which led to the worst experience in San Antonio.

Just say NO
March 31, 2019

First route was cancelled. They rescheduled for the next day. Major delay caused missing the connector route. Rescheduled. Bus driver never showed up to finish the connector route. Unaccompanied minor stranded half way between home and destination. Customer service tells you to call complaint department. Complaint depart tells you to call customer service. No one cares that this is a minor. Rescheduled the reschedule. That bus cancels. Rescheduled again. That bus is on a 2 hour delay. IF that bus shows, my son will have been at the Cincinnati depot for 14 hours by himself! This will be 29 hours later than he was suppose to arrive originally. There is no way to contact anyone higher up. They wouldn't issue him a ticket to just come home. They wanted his personal information to be able to help us. He is a minor. That is not legal. Yes, he's 17, but not legally an adult. They can only keep rescheduling his ticket. We are very irritated and angry. We have never had this problem before and we use Greyhound all the time. Never again! JUST DON'T DO IT!

Greyhound has very poor customer service, I pre-booked a ticket a few days ago going to Orlando from Ft. Lauderdale and I also booked my hotel and connecting Megabus from Orlando to Birmingham. I ended up at the bus station for 6 hours not knowing what was going on nor when or if I would get a bus to connect me to my bus in Orlando on time. My greyhound reservation was for 12:05am and it wasn't until 6:00 that someone tells us there is no drivers and the next bus available was at 8:00am which would not get me to my connecting bus in Orlando on time. My reservation was for 12:05am and I wouldn't get a bus until 8:00am. They act as if they didn't care, wasn't their problem and as if the inconvenience they caused us all was not their problem and no big deal. I plan to take this to the news station because this happens to much with greyhound and the supervisor over the phone was rude and even laughed in the background. Greyhound will fall and it needs to.

Their employees try to help you, but I firmly believe Corporate ties their hands. I have been trying to get a refund since July. Today is December 15. One customer rep said I would be getting a full refund on two tickets that were never used and I explained the situation. Someone over her denied it, so instead of sending me a partial refund with a letter explaining, they just ignore it. So I called again (one letter, numerous phone calls) and now, supposedly I'm getting 80% of the total cost in 14-21 business days. I will call again if I do not see that check. This is ridiculous and I will complain on every review site I can find. Do Not give this company your business. I cannot say it enough.

I copied and pasted this from my google review.

So RUDE! I haven't even left the GREYHOUND bus station in Pittsburgh to begin my trip and I felt like posting a review. Whoever is working ticketing at 6am on 5/27 screamed at 4 other customers and I to move behind a line that we didn't see. Then the lady running gate 8 seemed to busy to answer my question "is this gate 8?" so I walked past her to the bus. She then proceeded to run me down and scream at me for walking past her without her answering. Probably a dozen people were there watching. Congratulations, you guys earned my first ever google review. You are the UNITED of bus stations.

Update... she is operator Tracy. My bus driver

Can't even make a new post but here's another update. Tracy made an unscheduled stop 1.5 hours into hour trip at the somerset rest station. She states everyone be back on the bus at 8am. At 7:55am, myself and 2 other random customers were left behind as Tracy had taken off early.

From there it took 1.5 hrs on the phone to reach customer service supervisor after employees could not do anything to help. They couldn't even guarantee the next bus coming 4.5 hours later could let me on the bus but I'd have to ask. Don't ask for a refund because it takes 48 hours for them to tell you if you can receive anything. Well here's to hoping they let us all on the next bus, and that my luggage did get unloaded at my stop since it is now with Tracy.

By far the poorest customer service I've ever experienced (in person and on phone). I don't understand how companies like this can operate. Use megabus next time. Then you won't have a 4 hour trip turn into 9.

Never again will we even consider traveling or have anyone else on greyhound. They leave passengers stranded, then make you pay extra to continue on the next bus, lose your stuff, and the ticket agents in Los Angeles are rude & make fun of the persons hardship. Tried to call customer service, for 3 hours to just get the run around.

OUR HORRIBLE GREYHOUND EXPERIENCE - My 21 year old daughter purchased a ticket on December 5th 2016, to travel from Binghamton NY to New York City on December 27. She was going to Port Authority to make a connectioon to JFK Airpot for a 10AM flight. The bus was to pick her up at 11:45PM in Binghamton. The bus never even showed up. When she called her freind who was on the bus(friend was picked up in Syracuse), we were told that the bus driver said that the bus was now filled & there were no seats left, so he didn't even stop in Binghamton. (My daughter purchased this ticket on Dec. 5th!) It was then my responsibility to drive her to JFK in the middle of the night. She had to catch her flight, so we left at 1:30AM & I drove 3 1/2 hours one way, & then attempted to drive 3 1/2 hours back. I had to stop twice at rest areas to sleep as I could not stay awake. I finally arrived home at 11:30AM the next morning. I missed a whole day of work, paid $42. In bridge tolls, and approximately $40. In gas money for the trip. I called & filed a complaint (#*******) & I was told by complaint department that this is common practice of their company. They continue receive this type of complaint, & to turn these complaints into corporate headquarters, but nothing changes. He said he was sorry, but the only thing that could be done was to file a claim for the ticket and a refund would be issued. (Isn't that nice of Greyhound) Needless to say, my family will NEVER attempt to use Greyhound again, & I have relayed this story to as many people as I can. From these conversations I have had with others, this policy has been in place for quite some time, so they really don't care how their customer's feel, or what type of hardship the customer has to deal with. They will just sell the ticket to another unsuspecting customer. Hopefully, this policy will one day catch up with the company. But until then, BUYER BEWARE!

Some folks are stuck with public transit, and that's not a good thing, especially when the fiends at Greyhound Bus can victimize you. Greyhound Bus was once an excellent company who ensured their drivers were safe, trained, screened, supervised and honest. Any sex offender would have been kicked out immediately. The Greyhound Bus stations once had lockers that worked, and were safe to use. Greyhound Bus stations once had employees on duty who served the bus customers. No longer. Greyhound Bus moved from Phoenix, Arizona to a seedy part of Texas, and their last concern are customers. They stopped hiring attendants and started hiring men in uniforms carrying guns who abuse bus customers for fun. None of the lockers work, and since there are no attendants on duty, you have to lug your goods around, sleeping on your suitcases when the buses fail to show up. Worst, Greyhound could care less if your bus driver is a hustler, sex offender or worse. Since no one answers the phone, it isn't possible to get assistance when bus drivers refuse to go to Required Stops, stops that were advertised as stops. Your children are not safe alone on a Greyhound Bus. I assure you that their drivers will do all they can to get control of your child, including refusing to stop at a required stop, taking your child to a place where your child is handed to a sex trafficker and kidnapped. The state and federal transportation agencies set up to protect bus customers will do nothing. Greyhound Bus is USDOT ## *******, and the size and weight of the complaints against them would collapse your house. You cannot trust Greyhound. I wish their filthy, stinky buses was all there was to complain about. They deliberately hire sex offenders and sex traffickers. Unless you have no other choice, do not use Greyhound Bus.

Why can't Greyhound management do something serious about their surly, rude counter people and bus drivers. There is nowhere on their website to call them or e-mail them.
The Mount Laurel station is the worst. Three women in there who don't know the printed ticket rules, are rude to just about every customer and will not help you with simple problems. Coming back from NY, there were problems with two bus drivers. One at the Port Authority, who would not give a young woman who was trying to get to Philly to visit her sick mother in hospital (even though I had given up my seat). He drove off without her even though I banged on the door to tell him that he had forgotten her. Then the driver who drove us to Mount Laurel, after driving much too fast down the Turnpike, was rude and surly to passengers in Mount Laurel. He would not open the door on the driver's side for us to pull out luggage. Then he would not help old people get their cases out. We do not need this type of treatment. Get it together Greyhound, or go out of business. Renee Jones
