SCAMERS
February 19, 2022

So when I purchased my ticket I was talking to a call center apparently located in the Philippines, the next day we felt we had gotten scammed. So I had to go and cancel my card we kept checking on the bus ticket and they kept saying that it was legit with the confirmation number. Also telling us we could cancel with a small fee. Today I called to cancel and not only did they tell me that I can't cancel because it's nonrefundable but that my address doesn't match the credit card number I gave, in addition to that the receipt was for 128.78, $135 were taken out of my bank account and all the description said with service fee. The receipt that I received the next day said that I paid with a MasterCard and I paid one 2878 that's a bunch of crap I paid with a visa and I paid $135 today they're telling me that they cannot refund my money so basically I had to cancel my bank card and file a claim and I would never ever book a bus fare over the phone they are scammers and they are also very rude, these people actually called me back and called me a $#*!ing $#*!. Literally called my phone back and cussed me out. Somethings very seriously wrong with greyhound. Do not use them. Terrible customer service. And I will get my money back greyhound. And never use you again. Y'all are horrible. And you shouldn't be in business.

A Truly Uncomfortable Trip! NEVER AGAIN!
January 17, 2022

I recently took a trip from Dallas to San Antonio, the initial bus to San Antonio was fine BUT --- going back home to Dallas was terrible. I arrived 20 minutes early as recommended and was told I needed a bag tag by an employee so I got in line to get one, this line never moved! After that the same employee called me over and said that my bus was about to leave and that I need to hurry up in a rude tone. First off, I was only doing what I was told to do. After that, he gave me a bag tag which he had access to the whole time and I boarded an extremely overly packed bus where I could hardly move and was in actual physical pain when I finally arrived back in Dallas. This isn't even my worst experience with Greyhound. They once sold so many tickets that there was no room on the bus and they me left in the completely wrong state and city and didn't even offer me a refund. NEVER AGAIN! Next time I will be taking a flight even if it's for the same state. I wouldn't let my dog travel on this God awful bus service. 0 stars! Greyhound is a pathetic excuse for a business.

Take a plane. I was seven hours late the first driver was a nightmare! Treated like a prisoner not costomer! Then I had to find a ride for the last 79 miles or wait another 24 hours! I was supposed to be dropped off at the station 0.5 miles away from my house. They won't refund anything would have been better off walking! Worst experience of my life!

Buses kept dropping ppl off & didn't know anything about pick up services
Kept calling the bus number & nothing
They couldn't even say buses don't pick up@ the casinos, we must walk to the bus terminal. They need to be fired

Don't... just don't.

Ok, hang in there with me for a minute. Took a bus from Altoona PA to Lexington KY, not only was it a 16 hour ride but we also stopped at some of the shadiest parts of different towns I've ever been in. My bus smelled like piss and the floors were sticky, there were writings on the walls and the driver was just straight up rude to everyone. Once we hit Cincinnati Ohio, something happened during the driver change and we got delayed by 6 hours while being held up in another ghetto $#*! station filled with bums and "homies" being loud as $#*! and fighting with security (most entertaining part honestly). Speaking of, I had a return ride at 6am from the Lexington station and my Uber driver dropped me off around 5am. If you have bus services that early, HOW IS THE STATION CLOSED AND I HAVE TO STAND OUTSIDE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LEXINGTON GHETTO WITH CRACKHEADS TRYING TO STEAL MY $#*!. How are there not any cops parked in the lot of some kind of security walking around? Literally homeless dudes and beaten up smackheads coming out of the woods and walking to the wall I was leaning on getting closer and closer to me trying to bum smokes and money off me. Luckily I only had a brief exchange of words with the wonderful after hour residents of the closed Greyhound station. The on bus bathroom looked like a corpse exploded in there and the station bathrooms weren't any better. Wifi was basically non existent, just like the manners of any Greyhound employees I tried talking to about ticket info and bus times.

This company is highly abusive and irresponsible, and needs someone to hold it accountable.
I purchased roundtrip tickets from Youngstown to Chicago. The bus left from Youngstown, but when we arrived at Cleveland, it turned out that there were no drivers assigned to continue the trip to Chicago. At the counter, they switched me -without asking beforehand- to the 4:50 am bus to Chicago, yet after hours of waiting, they reported there were no driver for that leg either.
Greyhound failed to provide the transportation that I had paid for. I was left stranded in a strange city at 2am, because of this I had no choice but to cancel my trip. It was by mere chance that I was able to have a friend come to pick me up at 2 am to drive me back.
After this I went online and filled in the form for requesting a refund. However, Greyhound denied my request for a full refund repeatedly without giving a reason why. The whole ordeal was incredibly stressful and I am bewildered by the evident abuse of their power as a company; beyond their failing to provide the service I had paid them for, they have obstructed in every way possible giving me my money back.
Greyhound is showing alarming rates of neglect and exploitation of their customer. No self-respecting bus company could possibly defend arbitrarily cancelling someone's trip *while it is in progress*, leaving that person in a perilous situation, stranded in a city they don't know in the middle of the night, and then claiming that no refund is owed. That response is shocking to everyone I've conferred with about this, and I really advice anyone to avoid travelling with them at all costs. They are not honorable, reasonable, nor trustworthy.

I took a bus from Penn station to North Carolina. It was the first time the driver driving that route. He was lost, I was given a piece of paper with the direction. A passenger have to use his phone navigator to help him. He pass one of the stop. Have to turn back over an hour to drop off passengers. I was two hours late for my connection at Hampton. Was at that station over four hours for a worker to call an Uber to take me home. Coming back to New York. The bus didn't turn up. No one contact me. All numbers I call was forward to ticketing. They are said I can only email customer service. I had to google the nearest departure location. Which was an hour and half away. I call back ticketing and ask if I can use the same ticket was told no, not even to paid the difference. I had to purchase two more tickets for me snd my minor child plus charter a taxi. The first two tickets $146.76 and I had to pay $376,76 and $70 for the taxi. The bus toilet was out of service and smell of piss. I was stop over for an hour to my surprise is the same bus come back to connect. For twelve hours. The bus smell of poop and piss, my child couldn't even eat and the driver still allow the passengers to use it and knowing that it was not flushing. I sit three seat behind the driver. The entire bus was contaminated. It take over a week for customer service to email me. Only want to give me a voucher for $146.76, which I have to use to travel. It was not my fault in the first place the bus didn't show up. The bus only leave that location once a day. I'm so disappointed. I wouldn't travel or recommend anyone to travel with greyhound.

Cancellation
August 8, 2021

I booked a trip to New York with my girlfriend from Wilmington and apparently it was cancelled, We didn't know this until we were at the port authority and I only knew of it by another bus driver. It's really infuriating because they didn't even send an email or a message about the bus trip cancelled and I have to call them for it to be refunded. I just wish they would give me a heads up and give me time to reschedule but no they didn't give me anything but extra work. Displeased with this experience please be better.

The bus did not show up! No refund!
July 19, 2021

My friend and I bought a ticket for today at 4.35 am. We were at the bus stop 1 hour before. We waited until 8.30 am but the bus never showed up. I called the numbers on the website and talked with two different people. They told me they couldn't see the bus status and didn't know if the bus would come back. The only thing they told me it is an economy ticket and no refund option. I could not believe how it is possible. If I was late, they would be right. I paid for a bus that has never existed. I lost both my money and time.

Lack of Covid safety, terrible response
July 14, 2021

I took a trip from Boston to Sturbridge and another from Sturbridge to Boston. If I had not gone to Sturbridge, I would inconvenienced my family and only Greyhound goes there.

The desk worker at South Station, Boston only intermittently wore her mask. The bus arrival time had also (as best I can tell) shifted back ten minutes. (It still arrived late.) On my return trip, the conductor wore no mask, even when taking our tickets. This broke federal law. He also did not make an announcement about mask-wearing and used the excuse that he had already done so in Albany, NY, before a number of us had even boarded the bus.

Out of around fifty people in a nearly full bus, at least six did not wear masks. When I complained about this, I got an e-mail about getting "inconvenienced" (not what happened) and a wheedling statement made about hoping I would continue to use Greyhound. The second e-mail said something similar. They said nothing about improving safety. They also wouldn't refund my tikcet.

I used greyhound to go to Altlantic city. I booked a ticket back and when I arrived to the station they left one hour before of the set time to board the bus. I got in contact with their customer service and they have no explanation about it. In addition it was no one in their location in the NJ transit, they didn't show up until almost 11am, I arrived to the station at 7am and my bus was supposed to leave at 7:59 am.
They change my ticket for 11am but I was there and again no bus showed up.
It's the Worst bus service I've ever used in my life, before I have never experience any spontaneous bus schedule change in any bus line.
I definitely would not recommend anyone to rely in such a unprofessional and bad service as a Greyhound.

I took a Greyhound bus from Milwaukee WI to Minneapolis MN, I was supposed to make to Minneapolis at 6:50am so I can make it to work by 9am. I didn't make it to Minneapolis until 2:30pm, why because a 20 year old bus broke down that had no business on the road in the first place. When I dared to complain they told me my ticket was non refundable and they considered a 8 hour delay a minor delay. This proves that Greyhound has no regard to their customers. Or was it because it was a bus full of black people. Yes I went there because it was a bus full of black people.

Comfort and Communication please.
January 20, 2021

I traveled from Cincinnati to Chicago 8 hr ride return Chicago to Cincinnati 12 hr ride. Exhausting, not comfortable, the workers are so rude and disrespectful to customers. I will never forget this lady in a wheelchair needed help with her bags. The bus driver said I drive I don't touch bags. That wasn't it one of the workers that do touch bags had the nerve to talk bad about this women to his co workers loudly. The Toxic environment is not needed. To add to this please make things more clearer which bus to get on and any updates without the attitude. Travelers go through enough trying to get home safe.

Terrible
February 13, 2020

DO NOT SHIP MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS WITH GREYHOUND. I am a musician currently living in Columbus, OH and had a concert with an orchestra in South-East Texas in mid January. Flying with a tuba is always a nightmare so my teacher recommended I ship via Greyhound. He had done it many times with Greyhound though decades ago. I had never tried it so I thought I might as well. I called about a week before I needed to ship to get a quote. I gave the exact dimensions and weight as well as the destination (Angleton, TX). I was told it would be $20-$30 and would take 1 to 2 days to ship. Sounded great to me! I got to the Columbus station to ship on MLK Day and the worker there told me it would be $100 and 3 to 10 days to ship. My first rehearsal was in 3 days so I was very wary about sending it. The worker assured me that it would get there in 3 days with no trouble. I wasn't confident but since it was so close to the performance I didn't have any other options. The online tracking was awful. For a full week it did not update, so I had no idea where my instrument was. The tuba arrived 10 days later in Houston (days after the performance) and they said that they actually don't ship freight down to Angleton. I ended up having to borrow a tuba for the concert. I had them ship the tuba back up Columbus. The tracking never updated for that but I was told it would take 7 to 10 days. Day 10 passes and no notification. I tried calling but the Columbus station disconnected their phone lines. I called corporate and they couldn't get in touch with them either. On Day 12 I decided to just go to the station in person and see if it had arrived. It did. No one told me. Somehow my tuba survived this cross-country 22-day pointless trip completely unharmed. Throughout the whole process I talked to many different Greyhound representatives over the phone. It was almost like each employee worked for a different company. Everyone seemed to have their own version on shipping policies, tracking, etc. I will never do business with Greyhound again. Absolutely ridiculous

Terrible bus service
February 11, 2020

I normally don't write reviews but this time I know I have no choice. It was the worst experience ever. I was supposed to take 5 buses to get from Florida to Seattle (3 days of transportation). Instead, after only 10 hours on the road, our TWO buses (/2) BROKE DOWN and we had to stay inside a cold bus all night (with smoke coming out of the motor) on the side of a dark highway. No one explained to us what was going on and all of the staff was mean and hostile. They kept us locked inside and said we were not allowed to get off. It was extremely dangerous. The next morning, once we got towed and a new bus came, at the next bus station, I paid an Uber and got to the nearest airport and paid 400$ US for the next flight to Seattle because I knew I would never get to Seattle alive with Greyhound. I'm extremely disappointed and hope you guys decide to take AMTRAK instead (or a flight).
