HORRIBLE!
April 4, 2023

They need a competitor that goes to ALL major cities. They us miss tryouts twice for being 5 hours late one day and 7 the next. NEVER using them again. I'd rather go to Grand Prairie and have the longer Lyft ride home than deal with them anymore!

So insane it has to be true.
April 3, 2023

I traveled on a greyhound between nyc and Raleigh. During the trip, I discovered a group of passengers were engaged in an organized robbery ring. I had stupidly mentioned the situation to the person sitting next to me, who was involved also, and informed the bus I know. From there he told me that someone on the bus had a gun and that it would be smart to get off the bus. When approaching the driver, on the floor next to him was an open tote bag with a pair of my shoes lying on top. The shoes were in my carryon suitcase that the driver insisted I placed in a compartment over my seat before boarding the bus. The driver acknowledged I knew and that he pleaded that he had a family to feed. I wanted to trouble and as the driver pulled off the highway, i jolted out the door, called 911, filed a report, then realized my bag was still onboard. Greyhound issued an email apologizing for my bad experience. Not once was a call given. Now if I ran a business and one of my employees was accused of committing a crime to my customer, I'd investigate and call the victim. My bag was still on board, so what happened to it? Why did the driver not report it lost? Why did the driver not report a passenger getting off their bus at an unscheduled bus stop? Why did the driver access a keypad box in an overhead compartment, what sounded like disarming a device, and returned to his seat? Greyhounds mistake is that the whole thing was recorded and safely in the hands of an attorney. But don't ride them or Amtrak, there is a very very organized group of individuals, all the way up to employees, who are involved with petty theivery. They even have cover stories and fake accents.

Worst experience ever
March 25, 2023

Worst experience ever. I was supposed to take a round trip bus from Oregon to Seattle. After the bus was 20 minutes late for my outgoing trip I looked up the status to find that my bus had been canceled. No email, No phone call, Nothing. Since I couldn't get to Seattle in the first place, I had to cancel my return trip from Seattle back to Oregon. Greyhound has refused to refund me my money for my return trip offering only a voucher after they took $20.00 cancellation fee from it. How am I supposed to take a return trip when they canceled my outgoing trip? They left me stranded, and now won't refund me my money. How is that in any way ethical? Avoid Greyhound at all costs!

WORST TRAVEL EVER!
March 5, 2023

I have no positive feedback for this trip! This was the absolute worst trip I have ever been on and I had been on a few from CT to NC and never was this bad! So now for the bad points on this trip: My first leg of the trip from CT to NYC was 15 min late which was nothing and didn't even worry about that. Once arrived at NYC is was a little confused on my next bus and there was nobody in the information booth. I did find an employee that said that I was in the correct terminal# 64 for my next bus. We left NYC already late and after getting on the highway, the bus started violently shaking and the driver said that we would have to go back to NYC for a different bus after only making it to the Newark bus stop which was another 20 min back. There were no issues until arriving at Washington DC where we were already late for the next transfer connection. We were told to wait in line outside and it was very cold out. Hours went by and nobody could get any information on when our next connection bus would be here continuing on from DC south to Atlanta. Finally, at 9:30 am on Saturday morning (almost 5 hours of waiting) we were told to board a bus that was continuing on south. The only information that we were given about the extreme delay is that a driver decided to show up for work! We continued on and made it to Charlotte. We were told that it was just a driver change but after 45 min of waiting we were told that there was another bus issue and we were switching busses yet again! I arrived in Atlanta at 7:45am and heard word that there was a bus leaving at 7:55am to go on south to Montgomery. Of course it was too late and full already to make that bus. I had to waste a whole day in Atlanta because the next bus was not until 4:20pm! I came back to the station well before that time to make sure I wouldn't miss this bus and I did and there were no major issues after that point. However, I arrived in Montgomery AL almost a full day later than advertised arrival time! THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! I WILL NEVER USE GREYHOUND AGAIN FOR ANY KIND OF TRAVEL WHATSOVER!

I didn't even mention the other issues that I had including a confrontation that happened right before me when I was sitting in my seat. A Greyhond employee and a customer were screaming and yelling at each other and threating each other! Apparently the bus driver caught the customer smoking weed and confronted him and it escalated outside in a brawl that other people recorded and posted online! There was also an issue with a different person that was caught shooting up dope and we had to pull over! THIS IS COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

Bus never came but yet I had to pay!
February 17, 2023

My wife and I were to catch a bus from Kalispell MT to Missoula MT, we had a plane to catch. Our bus never showed up. I think most folks would expect to get reimbursed, we did. However, Greyhound did not think so. We spend $56 and some change for nothing! You be the judge, did they do the right thing or wrong. We feel that they stole from us and they certainly have lost our trust. Greyhound was wrong for what they did to us.

PART 2: I am glad to report that Greyhound said that they would reimburse me for what I spent on tickets. Thank you for doing the right thing.

PART 3: It is now February 13,2023 and we were told that we would be reimbursed for the bus that never showed up. We have not been reimbursed. That hurts, we were told that we would be reimbursed on January 19,2023 and that it would take 7 to 14 business days.

Stranded
February 17, 2023

I'm taking bus from Kansas to st Louis and they literally have me transferring in abeline ks with a layover of an 1 hour and a half on a Saturday night in the middle of the night at 320 am until 445 am on a curb outside in the middle of winter. No shelter just on a curb for hour and half. Sitting with all my possessions freezing in middle of night fir anyone to come take my suitcase and run with it. I'm appalled. I can't even get how this is legal for greyhound to do. Dropping me off on a curb making me sit freezing with no shelter for an hour and half freezing to death at 55 years old with 2 suitcases that any hooligan can grab and I can do nothing about it. Greyhound should be ashamed of themselves treating people this way. Can you imagine if this was an older woman, your mother or gma.? They don't even care or take any responsibility for this travesty. Do not travel greyhound cause they will leave you, your mom or gma for dead freezing and vulnerable to the weather conditions and criminal activities after purchasing your ticket. They should be sued for this. They make me sick. I mean not even a bus stop with a bench and shelter. They just leave you at a curb with nothing no matter the weather. Basically your lives mean $#*! to them.

FIND OUT FIRST BEFORE YOU BOOK!
December 11, 2022

I am a bit dismayed at the outcome experience I had with my Greyhound ride. I took a bus ride from Las Vegas to Los Angeles Union Station (Schedule 6414). This was not my final stop but it turned out to be this night. When I arrived in L.A. My bus that was to arrive at 10:30pm never showed up. By midnight, I personally went to the Union Station counter to find out WHAT was going on. My Greyhound App NEVER even updated a missed bus or a canceled bus for the night. Turns out, I was given a new ticked for the NEXT DAY at 5:30AM! What is a woman to do in downtown L.A. Who knows no one? Many of the patrons ended up sleeping overnight on a cold bench at the station! This is not safe for anyone let alone a female! Additional fees were added in order to not sit on a cold bench for the next FIVE hours! This experience was unsafe, unprofessional, zero communication, no apology or explanation to the customers, and left to defend themselves to their own devices! Some customers had no charge to their phones, and could not call for Uber. I am requesting for my reimbursement! Should you decide to take a Greyhound bus, ask ALL these questions of outcomes, and what your rights are as a customer, should this happen to you?

Hello, I'm the mom of 2 college students in Washington. My sons were supposed to home this Thanksgiving from their 1st quarter of college. Due to the lack of customer service, communication and staff my sons' tickets were messed up. We bought the tickets 3 months prior to Thanksgiving to ensure they had transportation home. The mountain passes can be unpredictable and we didn't want to risk them driving. When they went to pull up their e-ticket it wouldn't pull up. Per the instructions, we called customer service. We talked to 3 different representatives and could not understand any of them well. Finally, it was determined that the ticket had a "change" and this is why it wouldn't pull up. Since we had not requested a change nor been informed of one... I questioned what had happened. Turned out their original return trip did not exist anymore and that bus was now rerouted through another state, getting them back to school at 2am in the morning the next day (so a 6 hour drive became a 17 hour drive). Given the lack of safety at the station in Spokane... this wasn't an option. 3 months... no email, call or text to let us know there was an issue with the return ticket. I was instructed to call the Spokane station directly by one agent, which made no sense, but I called. No answer and never got a call back. But I thought "we will figure out the return later", let's just get them on the bus in Spokane. While my boys waited for an 11:10am bus... a fight broke out in the station which a security guard had to break up. This security officer then proceeded to smoke INSIDE THE STATION (which is illegal in WA). The bus was late, so the agent there told the passengers a bus was coming from Spokane Valley (maybe 20 minutes away) and there would be a 45 minute delay. An hour an a half later... still no bus. AND no agents. That's right, they don't staff the counter from 12 - 3pm. So the agents LIED about the delay and then left. How do we know this? My boys looked it up and the bus was now scheduled at 4:45pm. NO notification from anyone of the change. So now my boys are stranded in Spokane in a creepy bus station and no return bus. Quite frankly didn't even trust that their bus was going to show up nor did I feel safe putting them on the bus at that time of day and driving over the mountain pass so late at night. As a result, we made the difficult decision to not have them come. I had to pay for an Uber to get them back to their dorms, where they had no food or meal options due to the holiday. Had to spend $100+ to get them something to eat for the weekend and manage their (and my) emotions over the disappointment of not making it home. This level of incompetence, lack of concern for safety and customer service that is no help is completely unacceptable. Thank you Greyhound for ruining our holiday. I cannot recommend their service to anyone for their own safety and lack of reliability.

Lousy Service
November 10, 2022

Bought ticket on 9/2/22 St Petersburg to Ft Myers Round trip for 39.98 discount price due to advance purchase. Wasn't notified until 2 hours prior to my departure from St Petersburg that the Ft Myers station was closed due to Hurricane Ian and that my ticket had been cancelled, This station also serves as hub for Lee Tran Contacted Lee Tran and found the station was open and in perfect working order. I had to buy a new ticket for $99.98 to Naples FL station which is an hour south of my destination. Asked if I could go to Pt Charlotte as it be closer to my destination and for my ride to come pick me up. I was advised that the Pt Charlotte station was also closed. Upon boarding the driver told me they would stopping at Pt Charlotte then going on to Naples. I went ahead and exited the bus in Pt Charlotte in a location that had received excessive Hurricane Damage and should have been closed. After my friend picked me up in Pt Charlotte we drove by the Ft Myers Bus Station (Rosa Parks Bus Depot) and found it in excellent condition with no damage and busses coming and going. I contacted Greyhound to see about an adjustment to my pricing as I had bought my previous ticket well in advance as I had a concert in Ft Lauderdale that I already had tickets for, and a hotel that was booked and paid for that I was going to with my friend from Ft Myers. For my return trip I contacted Greyhound & asked them to switch my Naples pickup to Pt Charlotte as it was closer. They advised me again that it was closed. I boarded in Naples and found once again they stopped in Pt Charlotte. This would have made my ticket cheaper and less of a drive and gas for my friend. I did get a refund of $39.98 however I think they should honor my original agreement. Due to their errors. They still owe me 20.02 however I feel as a should get a full refund due to stress, customer service, bus conditions, and a fight that happened at the Sarasota station. Horrible service

Where do I BEGIN! F$&cking Greyhound should be called Prison hound. Nasty bus never cleaned, Covid passengers traveling with everyone else coughing with no mask. I boarded the bus healthy and ended up with severe allergic reaction to the dirt and muck! I also contracted Covid from the other nasty passengers who were allowed to board. Bus stunk of piss and $#*! mixed with bleach. Don't get me started on the bus stations. Atlanta stop is right across from a damn prison! Fist fights, a homeless encampment INSIDE the ATL bus station. It smells worse than a garbage bin. NEVER AGAIN! Random weirdo on the bus tried to run his nasty hands up my leg and nothing was done. Just avoid greyhound. If you want diseases and being a victim of every crime possible book Greyhound.

Horrible company
November 3, 2022

The worst bus company to book with. We were traveling from Boston to NYC and booked a round trip with greyhound buses company. We were delayed 3 hours+ because of some issue with the vehicle. Both trips were horrible. We spent over 7 hrs on the bus just for a 4 hour trip. The wifi was a joke there was no witi throughout the trip. Toilet and seats smelled and are outdated. I don't advise anyone to go with this company specially if you were a tourist. Absolutely horrible experience.

Smelly, greasy, and unprofessional scammers
October 29, 2022

I wish I would give this establishment zero stars. They first of all they have no way to contact customer service except through a web form that they don't even respond to. The only way to contact a corporate location is through snail mail.

This business is designed to exploit and rip people off.

I had the worst experience of my life. The bus was first of all not clean and smelled horrible. Then the bus broke down, I had to wait in the bus for 6 hours. I spent 10 hour total on the bus and only got half way to my destination. I had to get someone to pick me up and drive a total of 6 hours to get me. The mechanics were delayed and the alternate bus had still not arrived when I was picked up. The bus driver was not knowledgeable on what was going on and we were all notified when a bus was on the way after 2 hours in. I am disappointed in the professionalism in this situation. It was incredibly frustrating as we were told one thing and then it was not delivered in a timely manner.

I would like to be refunded not only for my bus fair but the additional cost to get to my final location. A trip that was supposed to be 8.5 hours was elongated to a 13 hour trip with no help from greyhound.

Literally dangerous
September 15, 2022

I've used grey hound 5 times now, and not a single bus has ever been on time. The stations are usually poorly maintained, and the only thing worse than the nasty bathrooms are the nast attitudes of the employees.
I would advice when ever possible that people consider thanking the flix bus, or mega bus.
There's also the train or just renting a car.
The last time I was on board on of these things 2 people were arrested for having alcohol on board and one ended up having a firearm.

Please do not use this service. It isn't safe.

Terrible Experience
August 13, 2022

My bus left 25 minutes early without letting anyone know. They left 6 separate parties behind. I called and they moved my ticket to the next bus coming 8 hours later. That bus never arrived. I spoke with 4 different "customer service" reps and no one could even locate the bus or give me a direct answer if it was even coming or not. I waited 4 hours hoping it would arrive and ended up using a different bus company so I wouldn't be stranded. This company is clearly outsourced so they don't really care about helping you and keep telling you to call a different terminal for an answer. But when you call that terminal or location, it gets outsourced again. I requested a refund because the bus never showed up and was refused. I will NEVER use greyhound.

Bus CANCELED without any notice
August 10, 2022

My daughter went through the absurdity of having her bus CANCELED without any prior notice, we waited 1 hour to find out that it had been cancelled, the only option was the next day, which didn't work for us. And it caused us a terrible inconvenience, because I had to drive all the way to Dallas to pick it up, because we weren't even sure the bus was going to be there the next day. Please think ******* times before using this company, worst of all we are not refunded when we contact you to ask for a refund. I'd like to give Reliability Zero, but I need to put a star for the Review to work. You spend your money for a ticket they don't refund. This is TOTAL ABSURD, BECAUSE THEY CANCELED IT!
