Terrible service!
July 18, 2022

My son and I were traveling from Birmingham to Wichita. We arrived two hours early for a 5:35 bus. At 5:40, we asked the attendant if the bus was late. He said the driver was having trouble getting through road blocks. So we waited some more. At 6, I called customer service and was told the bus already left. I told the agent that the bus never came! There is a room full of people waiting for this bus! She said the bus came and left. I put her on speaker and went to the attendant. He verified the bus never showed up so called the driver. The driver apparently just SKIPPED Birmingham because of the road blocks. And rather than telling us and making arrangements, we customers were left waiting for this bus that wasn't coming! The attendant offered us a different route on a later bus, with FIVE stops that would get us home over three hours late. I said not acceptable. My son was returning from military training camp and a party was planned to welcome him home. I ended up having to book a flight for the next morning and get a hotel for the night just to get home in time. Terrible!

Mental Health and Disability Abuse
July 17, 2022

My daughter was almost four hours away from home in the hospital for treatment and needed a way home. She was ordered a bus ticket and keep in mind she is on a limited income. The hospital did not ensure she caught her bus and now she cannot get a refund. They even stated they will use this documentation against me. I reminded I have documentation as well so. I can report this to all appropriate authorities

Customers don't matter!
July 3, 2022

The bus stations are a joke. No food, no water, metal benches with no backs. Porta-potties in Columbus Ohio that don't look like they've ever been cleaned.
People sitting for hours and hours at these places waiting for replacements for their broken down busses.
Years ago, this was a respectable travel option! Now it's horse n buggy with stops at smelly stables!

DON'T DO IT. WALK INSTEAD
June 28, 2022

We left Charlotte, NC on April 1,2022 at 2:45 am. The driver drove 1-1/2 hours in the wrong direction. He pulled over on the side of the expressway to figure out where he was. Then started going in the correct direction. We got off at the next major stop and drove the rest of the way home. Did not feel safe and/or confident wtih the bus driver. Reached out numerous times to Greyhoud for a refund. No dice. They could care less about your safety.

Zero stars

Don't do it. If you have the option take an Amtrak train instead! My daughter was scheduled to take a bus from Harrisburg to Washington DC Thurs morning. I got up at 2 am to take her to the bus station. We arrived at 3am. Her bus was supposed to depart at 3:50 am. We waited until 5:30 am. The bus never arrived. Customer service was of absolutely no help and couldn't even tell us if the bus was still planning to arrive. Customer service also refuses to issue a refund. Horrible experience.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!
June 22, 2022

We took our son to NYC for his 6th birthday, which was the dreamiest time ever... UNTIL we were trying to get home... We purchased 3 tickets to return back to Providence, RI from Manhattan, NYC on June 20,2022 for a departure time of 6:40pm.
We arrived at Port Authority and to our gate waiting on our bus to board. At 6:30pm, a random Greyhound employee who was outside on the dock informed us that our bus was canceled. We went to the information center to ask about this and they advised us to go to Greyhound customer service.
At around 6:34pm the overhead announcement stated that our bus was boarding.
We arrived to Greyhound customer service and waited in line for about 20 minutes to speak with a representative. When we spoke to the representative at about 6:50pm, she confirmed that our bus had been canceled and when we asked why it was canceled and why we weren't notified, the representative responded with "I don't know why it was canceled. Why didn't you know it was canceled? I knew at 5:30 that it was canceled."
I reiterated that we didn't know and we weren't informed as such. When I asked what we were supposed to do; what accommodations they were going to offer us since we hadn't planned for spending another night in NYC and couldn't afford to, the representative informed me that no accommodations would be made for us but we could get a refund or reschedule our trip for 7am the following morning to Boston and that we were "allowed" to spend the night in the bus terminal. I requested to speak with a supervisor and was told that there was no supervisor available to speak with.
We called Greyhound customer service and spoke with someone who was NOT AT ALL helpful. She basically gave us a hard time and the runaround the entire conversation, finally saying she was sorry, but there was nothing she could do because she wasn't located in the U.S. I asked to speak with her supervisor, but again, I was told there was no supervisor available to speak to. I asked if we could have a supervisor call us back when one did become available, but I was told no, that was not possible and I was advised to speak with a supervisor at the bus terminal or to call back later and try to soak to a supervisor then, but was told one may still not be available.
At around 7pm, we were finally able to speak to a supervisor who kindly listened to us, but only offered us the same response as the previous representative, and that he knows that no accommodations will be made and proceeded to tell us that a driver called out and that's why the bus was canceled and that they're having trouble with the drivers; that lots of people have gotten sick and died from the pandemic and they don't have enough drivers.
We received NO notice of this bus being canceled - no email, no text or anything until a random employee told us 10 minutes prior to boarding. As such, we were unable to get another bus on another
Bus line (Peter Pan said they stop selling tickets 10 minutes prior to departure time and it was past that), and we were unable to afford another night's stay and there weren't any other busses going to Providence until the next morning - not only was my family not only forced, but expected, and with zero compassion, to sleep in a strange, cold, very loud, uncomfortable and bright bus terminal over 150 miles away from our home, I also missed an entire day of work, incurred damages to my home from my dog because our dog sitter was unable to stay home with him longer and he was left alone for over 17 hours, I need to make an appointment to see my chiropractor due to the horrid conditions of our sleeping arrangement and the toll it took on my previously injured neck and back - ALL because of the MASSIVE and SEVERE lack of communication and compassion or even an ounce of any professionalism
On Greyhound's part.
This was, without a doubt, the single worst experience I've EVER had with any company and one of the absolute worst experiences of my entire life.

Don't do it! Hitchhiking will get you there faster. Their busses are unreliable, service is horrible and the company totally irresponsible in meeting quality transportation standards. My bus threw rubber off of a cheap retread and stranded us for over 9 hours, in a capital city! The driver had to get his own repair person! He kept waiting for one tire man and then another and then another...

Greyhound is still not accepting responsibility for my lost property, whether misplaced or stolen, that was in their possession the entire time. On June 5,2022, my things were gone when I got off the bus to claim them.

I have asked Greyhound several times to check the security cameras and see what happened to my property. They still have not done so or are choosing not to share the information with me. The response given here is again a generic response. Greyhound as a corporation doesn't care about its customers or their things. They collect their money and if something happens "tough luck."

I don't own a lot. I wasn't making a leisure trip. I came to care for my ill mother. Now the clothes I owned are gone! They are gone because Greyhound failed to do their job. They failed to make sure the unloading and loading process for suitcases was safe. I will continue to fight to hold them accountable. This is an injustice and cheats the people like me that pay to keep their business running. Compensation for my stolen belongings should not have to be debated. The ethical thing would be for Greyhound to attempt to reimburse me for the lost. What a horrible irresponsible corporation!

Worst experience Ever.
May 6, 2022

I have a trip booked from Albany OR, to St Cloud MN. I am writing this at 3am, where we had to sit outside in the cold for 5 HOURS. 7 of us needed a hotel due to then canceling our bus, the terminal guy in boise Idaho? Doesnt know a horses face from its $#*!. We only started getting people into rooms after he left. He was Very Rude to everyone who needed new tickets. There is pretty much 0 communication and 4 of the 7 that needed rooms still have no where to sleep. We sat outside for 5 hours before we were allowed to sit on the bus. You absolutely cannot get ahold of customer service for $#*! as it only brings you to the scheduling and ticket people.

DO NOT USE GREYHOUND!

Don't ride greyhound
April 24, 2022

If there was an option 0 stars I would choose that one. Not only have we been left behind while waiting in the parking lot of a bus that left 20 minutes early but now we are dealing with a bus that just can't leave because there's no gas! Unbelievable! They recommended, rescheduling to get on the next bus and but also having to pay $20 to reschedule a trip that was canceled due to greyhounds fault (no gasoline in the bus). We have now been waiting 5 hours to get in the next bus but now we are told that one is late and we will have to wait 4 more hours. The service is awful there's no one to talk to except customer service on the phone who have no idea and really can't help. I feel this happen only to the less fortunate those that don't have the means for another source of transportation. It is disrespectful and outright wrong.

I was coming from Cedar Rapids and stopped in Indianapolis en route to DC and was forced to give give up my seat to six white people and wait another 6 hours. Police were called and Marion County Sheriff Anthony Bell came to their rescue. I spent the night in jail and had to wait in Indianapolis for my arraignment a few days, later. Luggage was lost and took 8 months to recover. Blacks lives don't matter to Greyhound.

This company acts like it's in the stone age. I book a ticket and get an email back saying "something's been changed" but they won't way what and instead leave a number to call. I call this number several times with no answer or even an answering machine. So I try to cancel my ticket. I send in an official request form and follow up several times and never hear back from them. I call two separate customer service lines both of which say "I can't help you, you must email us" even though I have and am getting no response. Both agents were entirely clueless. I then try to find a different email to send a note to and then their website says I need to send a complaint BY MAIL to Texas. This company should be banished from the earth.

ESA is not viable
March 22, 2022

Are y'all $#*!ing for real! Can someone please tell me how an emotional support animal is not a service animal? So basically what Greyhound is saying is my emotions are not a viable reason to be able to bring a esa onboard. So my emotions due to PTSD is not a viable reason to bring me esa on board with me? So you guys basically really don't care if somebody snaps. You guys are basically saying that you guys don't give a flying f*** if somebody snaps and beats the f*** out of somebody maybe another passenger or maybe your driver. But yet that could be all avoided if you just let people bring their esa a board. I truly 100% hope one day you guys deny somebody and they just beat the f*** out of y'all and then you can tell people it's not a viable thing when you're f****** face is smashed in. Just a garbage company.

Never ever again!
March 22, 2022

I purchased a ticket leaving from Durham, NC at 11:40pm on 3/16. I optioned to receive an e-ticket which allows to have an access 2 hours prior to departure (3/16 after 9:40pm). I waited for a bus at the station about an hour. When the delayed bus arrived (now it's 3/17 at 12:40am), I pulled up my e-ticket to get on. The bus driver refused it very rudely because my e-ticket showed a 3/16 12:10am departure which was almost a day ago. I tried to explain that must be an ticketing error, but he didn't care and just drove off. I contacted customer service via e-mail ( only option that I was given). After a few days later I got a response stating that I don't even get a refund for it! They completely dismissed their error! It's so unreal this company still exist.
