I was delivered a meal June 13,2020. I put the meat in the freezer. I took it out June 19 and cooked it June 20,2020. I was tired from a full day of work and didn't notice there were worms in the meat. I cooked the meat and on my first bite I pulled a worm out of my mouth. My husband had already eaten 3 bites.
We both got super sick from looking at our plates covered in worm-infested meat, and skipped eating altogether that night.
I called GreenChef to complain and they were closed. I emailed their customer service and they responded with they hope "I don't hold it against them" and their rep acted like it wasn't a big deal at all. WHAT? I told them THIS IS A BIG DEAL and that other people will be getting this same worm-infested meat and could get really sick from it!
I asked them to have a manager call me. That was 5 days ago and nobody has called me back from GreenChef. I am registering a complaint with the USDA immediately since GreenChef isn't taking this serious. Needless to say, they and their owner, HelloFresh, have lost my business for life.
When my husband and I started with Green Chef over a year ago we were delighted. But then we started to have issues about 6 months ago. First food was not fresh, then food was left off, then the food shipped was not what the recipe called for in the box. Now, this week, our shipment did not even arrive, and after two days of checking they finally said the food was never shipped. We are cancelling our account.

I was able to try out a few of their kits and actually found the food to be really good. I would have stuck with them, but they are on the pricier side. It's almost cheaper to eat out at a healthy casual restaurant and without the cooking and cleaning.
The only thing that knows them down to four stars is their cancellation system. Not only can you not cancel online and must email them to do so, but you also have to cancel 7-days before your next order. Unfortunately, I was not aware of this policy and canceled too late. HOWEVER, they were prompt to cancel my subscription and offer me a discount.
Based on my experience, the negative reviews concerning their customer service seem are without merit. They were prompt and were able to help resolve my problem.
I'd definitely recommend to anyone that wants a keto meal kit and has the means to pay for it.
I attempted to cancel three different times before it was successful. Originally the canceling option was hidden in some small text on a far page. I thought I had clicked to cancel so I was shocked to see I was being charged for another week's meals. I went to the site again and found that in the lower text were actually instructions about how to email to cancel your account. I emailed the address and thought it had registered. 6 weeks later and I see I am being charged again. I checked the site which now says you have to call, which I do. The associate explains that you cant cancel your account any way other than calling in now. I am currently waiting for the confirmation email so I can finally be done with them. Considering the portion size and originality of the meals was terribly lacking for the cost (Paleo Diet), it seems like unethical business practices to make removing your account and more importantly their access to your credit card almost impossible.
Terrible. Spoiled produce, please see my pics for the moldy tomatoes etc. Weird tasting recipes including "Malaysian Pork", really? Malaysia is a Moslem country, can you be any more disrespectful to that religion? Called customer service, they refused to provide a refund, just a creditI really don't want more of this nasty product so the credit is of no value. I will contact my local TV stations consumer reporter on the refund issue, but my recommendation on this company is to stay far away
Hello fresh came to my office to talk to staff about their product. I was excited when I found they have a vegan option through Green Chef. The Representative Lauren told me that I would be getting a discount if I signed up that day and that when I were ready to order the food I would already be set up. I gave her my credit card and told her that I would review the meals to see what I liked and then eventually order. The very next day my card was charged almost $80! I hadn't picked any meals or anything! There was no discounts just lied. I called customer service and they informed me that I would be getting my box on Monday. I explained to them (all through enail) what happened and that I wanted to cancel because I was misled and how could they be delivering food that I did not order. I get another enail apologizing and saying that my order would be canceled along with the service. Her I am at day 5 no refund. If they ever want to come to your office to offer your employees anything DO NOT DO IT! The Reps that they have working for them are obviously desperate to make sales and will lie to do it. It is very disappointing.
I recieved my first order and it was not what i was expecting so I cancelled the day before the cancellation policy of 7 day and I noticed on my credit card statement, once I cancelled they hurried up and charged my card for $83.93 for the next weeks delivery and I didnt want it. So in my opinion they are not honest in that respect and I cant do business with a company like that. PLUS what they send you, you can ration for yourself and the taste was not worth the price of the first order which is why i was cancelling. I would not recommend this service. I usually dont leave reviews but the fact that they hurried and charged my card right when I cancelled was upsetting and bad business. BE CAREFUL...
Excellent, Organic food. The problem I did have with them is their delivery service, which reserves the right to deliver up until 8:00 PM, unlike UPS and FedEx which deliver by 5 or 6 PM. This is way too late to start dinner, and way too late to be accepting deliveries. Very pleasant customer service.
Green Chef offers customers a fully organic, diverse menu complete with specialized dietary options, that is filled with delicious and innovative meals.
Green Chef offers two types of plans:
2-person plan with 3 meals per week (total of 6 servings)
4-person family plan with 2 meals per week (total of 8 servings)

Unhappy! Poor customer service, really expensive and read the fine print! I wanted to give it a try, some of the ingredients were starting to wilt and go bad. When I called customer service to cancel, they already charged me (same day as my delivery date) for the following weeks delivery and I was stuck with the bill, she would not work with me at all. Hopefully I can get a less smashed/ruined delivery as my final delivery. Needless to say I will not be getting this again.
I never received my first order, I then had to call Green Chef (3 days after it was supposed to be delivered) only to find out it was damaged in transit (I never received an email or anything for that matter from GC in regards to the damaged goods). The rep I spoke to said he would set another delivery date for me a week later, which AGAIN never arrived. When I called again, the next guy I spoke with stated it was never reordered and that I would be refunded within 7-10 business days. It has since been almost 3 weeks and I haven't received my refund for this order, nor have I received the $80 for my second order (which I canceled after my first one never arrived). TERRIBLE service.
I've tried Home Chef, Blue Apron, and Green Chef. Green Chef is by far the best in terms of quality, variety, nutrition, and portion size. They offer so many more ingredients and flavors mixed together in ways that would be more expensive to build from scratch. And they aren't tricking you with fatty "flavors" by drowning simple ingredients in cheap cheeses and creams. I tried Green Chef because they are the only self-cooking service with a gourmet vegan option that delivers to my zip code. I'm so glad, because the competitors now seem boring and overpriced in terms of quality/serving size. Yes, Green Chef is a little pricier per serving than the competitors, but take the time to research their ingredients versus the others. And they do nice things like pre-dice the onions. Whoever said their packaging is worse, it's so not. It's mostly biodegradable and color-coded. Plus when I cook I can say, "Hey honey, tonight we're having pineapple tofu kabobs dipped in teriyaki sauce over a bed of black Thai rice noodles, cashews, garlic, mushrooms, bok choy, onions and garlic, carrots, and cabbage topped with a pineapple Sriracha dressing." He's nearly a carnivore, but now says "I love tempeh!" and looks forward to Green Chef as much as I do. I feel like a gourmet chef, and my cooking skills have excelled. Thank you, Green Chef!
If you want to overpay for things you already have in your pantry and could easily make without much extra thought then Green Chef is the way to go. Their customer service is appallingly terrible also, offering only a $25 refund and no cancellations, even when the box hasn't even shipped yet. Order from somewhere else!
I ordered a trial box, went online and unscheduled several weeks in advance thinking that this would give me time to try the meals without pressure. Sent email to close my account. Received an email with a link to cancel the account and did so. Last night I looked at my bank account and saw that GreenChef had withdrawn funds for a food box. Wrote an email asking them to stop delivery and refund my money. No response. Called and was informed that the box had already left and all they could refund was $25.00. I will be out of town for a week when the box arrives. It was suggested that I ask a neighbor to retrieve the box. I live in the mountains and my nearest neighbor is over a mile away. Even if that were possible, whatever fresh product comes in the box will spoil by the time I return.
Horrible. Food average, no skills required, expensive. You will not be able to try the meal before you get to decide whether or not to cancel/ continue the subscription as they expect you to take a chance with them and modify your order at 12.00 noon 7 days before your next order. Which is before your first box is delivered to you.
We have tried Hello Fresh, Home Chef and Blue Apron and loved them all. Saw a good review of Green Chef and gave it a try. I am usually not inspired to write reviews about anything and don't like to complain, but wow. This food was barely edible. And yes, I followed all instructions to the letter (cannot tolerate people who "review" something and state they added this or that). I did everything right, the food was just almost disgusting. And to make matters worse, they were a crapload of trouble to make. To go to so much trouble for gross food just adds insult to injury. We've loved every one of our meal-delivery places except this one. As for faves, probably a tie between Hello Fresh and Home Chef. LOVE the packaging and organization of Hello Fresh and love being able to choose from so many meals at Home Chef. Try either or Blue Apron. Green Chef was a total waste of money, work and time.
I like the variety of options for various diets, but the only problem is you can't actually pick your meal. It's definitely worth it for busy weeks. I wouldn't use it every week but like to use it one or two weeks a month when we don't have time to shop! It's worth a try, use this coupon to check it out http://greenchef.com/invite/wdz66n
I signed up for a trial meal for 4 that sent me 2 pieces of chicken. I then cancelled. Got email saying next box was coming in March, I skipped entire month of March and April sending them another email to cancel. Went to pay bills in May to see they took $112 out of account. Have put a stop payment in but who knows if it was soon enough?
It was too much money and not enough food for my family of four. Schools out soon and I'm home in summers so we do not need any overpriced services!
They withdrew money from my account without permission after they sent an email saying unable to process due the info on my card not being correct. Like the expiration date. Almost put me in the negative. Their customer service sucks so badly i filed claim in with bbb... What a joke. The bbb tpok their side. Green chef is a rip off. Their customer service simply repeated their email a dz times never changing a word like an automatic response. Falsely drummed up confirmation emails saying they sent out my box. When the only email i got was cannot process at this time. They are rude disrespectful. I can go to the store and buy their meals 4xs over for the price of 2 they send. I will never use them again. And i am going to find every write a review and post this every where i can. What a crappy company. Wish i could cuss on these cuz thats how pissed i am right now.
Answer: Good luck cancelling. I tried to do so a week prior to scheduled delivery with no success.
Answer: Join the club. They are scam artists, who are not very artistic at that. Just scammers...
Answer: Green chef and Hello Fresh are the same company. There are many food delivery options available at varying price points. I plan to try a company called Trifecta next as they are advertised as higher quality and better options to customize meals, to avoid food allergens for example.
Fresh organic ingredients. Healthy, flavorful meals. Right at your doorstep.
