I tried ordering a box last month and the website wasn't telling me if my card went through or when I would get my order so I thought it didn't work next thing I know I'm negative in my bank account and when I called to cancel my account she was rude and I had to be Stern to even get a partial refund. At least with hello fresh they tell you right away if your card went through and when you will be getting your order.
The first time I got bafd produce in my kit I thought maybe I hadn't stored it correctly but this has now happened more than once that I have had to throw ingredients away because they were no good - slimyand rotting red pepper and half frizen zucchini that went to mush and molded before I could use it. These kits are way too esp3ensive to put up that sao I've cancelled my subscription
The meals are good to mediocre but service was expensive, meat is not dated. When I called they said to use meat within 3 days ( I bought 4 meals). They said I should freeze. I cancelled because we couldn't cook them fast enough and were throwing meals away. I very carefully went through the cancellation process because it's boobytrapped to get you to stay. Saw cancelllation screens and checked account. It was cancelled. Next week more meals showed up and account was active again. They refunded $60 of 4 meals but I still have to use meals from last week. One customer lost.
I tried green chef. I Went through the dishes. The ones I bought were delicious. And food was very fresh. Note I did not see any meals under $7.00. The chef meals cost extra, as a recipe cost (approx $20+). I would of like to know about this added on cost ahead of time. I am disabled, I have a girl that comes by one day for 3 hours. She has time to cook 1 quick meal. So I like to order 4 servings for my husband and I. That way we have 2 meals. Green chef requires 2 separate meals. This I also would of liked to know ahead of time. This does not work for me. I when order 4 serving that should be a sufficient amount. Especially when I am paying an additional $20 plus for the recipe. I dropped them do to lack of convenience. But again meals are tasty.
Did you wonder why they have you pay first and choose meals AFTER confirming your payment? It's so that you hopefully don't notice that you've chosen a PREMIUM recipe which has an surcharge over what you thought you were paying. So, even though your email confirmation will indicate a certain price, if you chose that premium recipe but didn't notice the surcharge - expect to see a separate charge in your order history. They won't update the order total in an email, they'll just sliiiiiiide it right on that credit card bill. Oh, and then when you ask the customer service agent to refund the deceptive fee, they'll tell you "Sorry, I can't, the recipes are already shipped out!" Unless, that is, you threaten to cancel and they'll say "Ok ok, as a one time goodwill gesture, I will refund it but ONLY IF you agree not to cancel your membership." LOL. This was a real interaction with their 100% satisfaction guaranteed customer service agent. Sorry, I don't need a meal delivery service with deceptive practices such as this and customer service agents that play games. I haven't even received that first box but based on the reviews here, my expectations are very low. I might even be back for another review...
1st delivery, LATE. 2nd delivery, LATE. 3rd, LATE. 4TH on time but MISSING INGREDIENT. 5th, LATE. Called customer service and asked to speak to a supervisor to complaint b/c previous calls didn't resolve the issue. Was told they will call me back. Never did.
I have tried a lot of the meal plans & am generally satisfied for one reason or another but from time to time I like to switch it up. I went on the Green Chef website once before & didn't order because the pricing was high & the website was malfunctioning. I decided to look at it again through a link that had a discount for the first few weeks. I was moving between the 3 weeks selecting my menu & found the website to be malfunctioning again. I decided this was not a good sign so I canceled the subscription within 10 minutes of logging on & thought that was the end of it. However, today I noticed a charge on my credit card for the first week. I tried to log in & I couldn't even get in but kept getting a message there was a problem with the site. I even tried resetting my password & same message. I called customer service & a person with a very strong accent that was difficult to understand answered. His tone of voice sounded like he would rather be sleeping than assisting a customer (I'm in customer service so yes I critique others). He informed me that even though one cancels, the next subscription box still goes out even if you cancel before the cut off date. What the heck?! Anyway, he canceled it & said a refund is coming. All I can say is don't go there with Green Chef. There are a lot of choices out there & many are incredibly good & don't try to scam you with still shipping an order after you cancel in time.
We wanted to try out this service for a week and while the meals looked delicious online they did not taste very flavorful. The chicken breasts were sooo small my boyfriend and I ended up making more food after because we were still hungry. Then they pre selected three meals for me and I couldn't eat any of them due to food restrictions and they would not cancel or refund. Please don't waste your money -thought we would try something new but we are sticking with HomeChef which is amazing.
At least one meal a week (out of 4) was missing one or two ingredients. One week's box was 3 days late!
I was so excited about Green Chef at first and was willing to pay the premium. But they never delivered on their first order to me and customer service are horrible robotic workers that don't seem to care if customers get what they're supposed to.
I signed up for this service over a month and a half ago, never receiced. Got charged every week. Called 5 times for refunds and to cancel my account. They keep saying that it's been cancelled but I keep getting charged. This is a SCAM, DO NOT BUY from them
Because I am on a special diet, someone recommended Green Chef as they offer options in their menu. I was scheduled to receive my first delivery and remained home throughout the day because I live in a climate that is hot and wanted to bring the delivery inside as soon as it arrived. It never arrived. I called the company and not only was it not on a delivery schedule for the day in question, they didn't see that it would be delivered at all. I cancelled immediately without ever having a single service from them. It doesn't surprise me that their reviews are so poor.
First delivery and first meal prep from Green Chef. Packaging was good. But missing 2 items. This is why I pay for this service, so I don't have to make a trip to the store. Did have the missing items on hand. Meal looks good, haven't tasted yet because I'm still irritated. Missing items were vegetable stock concentrate and the peas.
6 months of Green Chef has ended with 3 of the last 4 weeks not being delivered. My money was taken a week in advance but then I have to call to inform them that no one delivered. They will say something about the box being damaged snd so they did not deliver it. I have to fight to get my money back and it can take many calls. Good bye green chef. Good riddance
My family has been using Green Chef for several months. Unfortunately, the customer service has not been good. Green Chef does offer great food and recipes; however, there were several times when my order has arrived with open packages. I have always notified the company of this, and they have each time promised a credit on my account. This has never happened. Last week my order never showed. This was the final straw. I have since then cancelled my order and am trying a different company.
When you sign up for a food service, you require a delivery company. After a successful but carb heavy experience with Hello Fresh, the parent company of Green Chef where all boxes are delivered on Monday thru UPS, Green Chef cannot seem to get us our food in a reasonable manner. This is after talking with 6 customer reps, a supervisor and more customer reps again today. Plus, they have charged my card again for next week before I got my box for this week? When I asked the supervisor to change my delivery company, she said she was writing a report... nothing has happened. Not even a call telling me how this delivery situation would be changed. So does anyone have the CEO's contact information? He is next on my call list. Missing dinner at my home makes people "hangry".
GreenChef overcharged me. I cancelled the subscription because of the significantly higher price for each recurring box. The first box was $125.88, the second box was $206.36, with an additional unauthorized charge of $53.94, after I cancelled the subscription. GreenChef is a scam! When I called, the representative "David" said he can not issue me a refund for the unauthorized charge. Then he had me holding about 5 different times during the 30 minutes call, he offered $27, then $30 partial refund, and now I am waiting for a callback which will be a 24 hours long wait. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. They are a complete and utter scam to take money over and over without any authorization. I requested my full refund and I was not able to get my money back.
I ordered four weeks' worth of meals 7 days ago. The first was to arrive tonight. By 8 pm. (That is the only choice... 8 a.m.-8 p.m.) at 8:10 nothing had arrived. In fact, according to the website, only the label had been prepared for the meals- they had not been packaged or sent. I got through to customer service- but they hire local delivery companies in each city, and they don't have a phone number for the local company. So- they send an e mail... No way of speaking to a real person to find out where the package is or what the problem is. The solution from Customer Service: "If you don't receive the meal by TOMORROW night at 8 pn we won't charge you. What a scam
I Cancled with plenty of time before the cut off. They billed me via PayPal for the initial $36 charge as a friend gifted us a week with them. Their food is vastly overpriced. I can fill a grocery cart at any Krogers, Meijers, Publix, even half a cart at a Whole Foods, or you can get one box from this supremely dishonest organization. The representatives can't do anything but offer a refund that will take up to 2 weeks. Why are you so dishonest GreenChef? If someone canceled they obviously want to break up with you; that means STOP BILLING US, not steal money out of our account like a thief at night. Your system sucks. Your business model sucks. Your 1st level reps and their supervisors suck. I will be leaving bad reviews on any and all platform and filing a better business beureu complaint as well as filing a fraudulent transaction report with both PayPal and my bank that they billed through. You let your cancelation process take longer like Bank of America is known to do where if you deposit a check they'll run all the transactions first to make sure to trigger overdrafts. This is how bad businesses operate; ones that don't care about their customers.
I canceled my subscription 3 weeks ago. Today I received a box and they charged my account $95 for three meals. I can not recommend this company. Their subscription is not that great. All food is cooked in the same manner and my boxes always arrived luke warm.

Answer: Join the club. They are scam artists, who are not very artistic at that. Just scammers...
Answer: Green chef and Hello Fresh are the same company. There are many food delivery options available at varying price points. I plan to try a company called Trifecta next as they are advertised as higher quality and better options to customize meals, to avoid food allergens for example.
