I think these are very good recipes! Me and my family love them! Me and my family just started being vegetarian and I don't know what type of dinners to make so these meals are perfect!
Order was late... called to ask about it. Said no worries it'll be here by 8 pm today. It wasn't... was told the UPS website was wrong on tracking info... geez. Lies lies lies
I had to give my credit card information and join to even view menu items and ingredient content. Upon my review 1) I had to pay extra for organic
2) the sodium content is almost a full day's worth for serving, as with someone who suffers from high blood pressure that one meal puts me OVER for the day
3) immediately canceled
4) got a notification this morning that my 1st box is to be delivered today
5) customer service insisted I must pay for this even though I canceled within minutes of joining and will have to give the food away
I feel it's deceptive marketing but I have learned an important lesson: if I have to give my credit card info just to see what the product is then they are probably hiding something! Never again!
Green Chef STOLE my money. I prepaid on Groupon for two weeks of Green Chef food. The first week I received the box and everything was fine, the second week I skipped (as I was not needing food that week) and the third week I chose to have my second and final order sent to me that I had already paid for on Groupon.
At first, Green Chef tried to charge my card $370, but my card stopped it as the charge was supposed to be waived as I brought two weeks of food.
I called GC and asked why were they trying to charge me $370 for my second week of delivery and they said it was a mistake and that because I skipped a week of delivery, it invalidates my Groupon. Nowhere on the Groupon does it say that if you skip a week, it counts as a delivery even if you do not receive any food. The customer service rep assured me the policy was not listed on the Groupon, he would waive the issue, let his managers know and that he fixed the issue and I would receive my box that I pre-paid for (which was not cheap). I downloaded this online chat conversation to my laptop as proof as well.
I called a second time that day to talk to a different rep to make sure the problem was fixed and they told me I would receive my box I paid for. The second rep assured me I would.
The next day I received an email about my box saying I would not receive it after talking to TWO reps who assured me I would receive it. I called Green Chef again today and another rep said that I would not be receiving my box because I brought it through a Groupon and they "do not have to honor that." He also told me I wouldn't be receiving the second box I paid for and couldn't tell me why, but just said there is nothing he can do about it. I asked to speak to a manager and he hung up on me.
The meals are not as good as I've had with other companies. They sent me 2 boxes the first week and neither of them made it to me. They were supposed to comp both but only comped 1. Then I tried to cancel twice, thought it was taken care of but it wasn't. Now I'm getting another box that I can't eat because none of the meals are vegetarian. And I've got to pay $80 for something I can't even use.
I had them charge me for food I didn't order, 3 different times. On their app, they give you the option of skipping meals for a week. I skipped several weeks in a row because I would be traveling and busy overall. They still kept sending food and/or charging me a delivery fee without the food. The same thing happened with my father, as Green Chef gives you credits for free meals that you can gift to others. I did this with my father, as my mother has recently died and he doesn't know how to cook very well, and money was tight. I made sure to cancel the service for him directly after using his gifted boxes but he was still charged repeatedly. I had to spend hours on the phone with Green Chef to get refunds they promised and never sent. Ultimately I used my credit card service for a charge back.
Really stinks, because beyond that problem, I had been enjoying the service and meal quality. Fix this issue Green Chef,
The package was a day late. The vegetables and meat were horrible quality. Vegetables were wilted mushy and slimy. The chicken breast were juice but extremely rubbery. The quality of food is not good. The amount of plastic and paper waist is ridiculous. Contacted green chef about it and was only refused $25.
Received the wrong meals after the app showed me the right ones the day before, customer service wouldn't help and told me to make sure that I saved it properly in the app next time but that this is what I ordered... Well, no next time for me.
Our first order cost $55 and was small portions of poor quality food, a few days later they charged our credit card $94 for the second order even after we had cancelled the previous day, l called and they said the cut off date had passed, they cannot be trusted, do not use this company
The food looks & sounds good, but it is a real hit & miss. Especially since the service is much higher then other services. I went into the app & cancelled my service. I called to confirm it was cancelled. I still got charged for meals I Do Not Want! I called & was told I had two accounts & one was cancelled & one wasn't. Therefore, No credit & food I don't want is being sent. They truly just want your $$ & really don't care what their customers.
The worst customer service of any meal service. My account magically "reactivated" after canceling and I can't delete my card from the profile.
I never order anything from Green Chef but received a bill of $202.86 below. I don't even know this company. How did they get my email?
I skipped 2 weeks and they sent out meals anyway. Said I didn't skip. Can't eat anything in the 3 meals they are sending out. $98 for 2 soup meals and one meal of shellfish which I do not eat. The company said they couldn't cancel or refund. I am so aggravated! I really believe it is a scam company. The one meal I've eaten from the first shipment was ranch steak and it was full of gristle. I would never recommend green chef. Please do yourself a favor and do not sign up.
I was so upset last time because we travel frequently and I missed texts that I am used to receiving. The food all went bad because we were out of town. I told them I was not receiving texts and was interested in canceling. I was assured several times that I would be given the text before I was charged so I could adjust the food to be gluten free and so that I could ensure we are in town. I'm requesting a full refund and cancellation of this shipment as well as my subscription. This is the third time that I have wasted food and the second time I've been assured that I was signed up for the warning text so that I can adjust when my shipment is sent.
I have received zero communication from this company and just a charge just went through. We are out of state for another week. I called customer service twice today to try and cancel my delivery/fix this issue and was HUNG UP ON or DISCONNECTED TWICE in a row! I was very polite, but obviously upset. This company is sort of a nightmare.
Oh also I signed up for a Gluten Free plan and found out I have been receiving keto meals instead. That was a big one for me. It is straight up dangerous.
Highly recommend you go with another meal delivery service.
TERRIBLE AND RUDE customer service. No solution. Request to speak with supervisor was denied. Unreasonable policies.
I have so many photos to show the poor quality of ingredients and won't even begin to explain how many brown bags were missing ingredients. The first meal I was to prep has only 3 of 10 ingredients By day 3 after canceling of course I opened a bag to find disgusting rotted kale and mushed artichokes. It's just awful and I have used two other services and did not experience anything this disappointing. Called customer service and he was very apologetic polite and gave me a whopping $40 credit for future purchases of course and I had ordered 6 meals for this first delivery. The very last photo shows ingredients for the Salmon Red Peppers and Olives recipe which had only 3 of the 10 ingredients but they kindly substituted a potato, 2 radishes, a bag of mushy peas and some honey mustard dressing which would not produce this recipe. I had to laugh after I was so furious. A Kindergartener could likely sort and compile the ingredients for each meal and wouldn't include molded onion, brown artichokes, rotten kale with slime etc. need I say more
I got a certain amount of "free" meals from a friend; coupon promotional. They charged upward for $500 before I realized not one of the meals came to us free. They charge you in spite of their claim for free food in their promotion. I should have done my homework. Hopefully you won't be scammed too.
I would love to say the food was good, however, based on the condition of the packaging for the raw chicken and turkey meat the food would not be edible by anyone. The ice packs were completely melted as though the box of food had been sitting in the heat for days. The vegetables were clearly not fresh and even had mold on them, which would not be worth someone paying any money for. The pictures speak volumes for how bad of a condition the box of food arrived on Sunday late afternoon. If the delivery originated in Colorado it must have gone the longest route possible to get to Choctaw, Oklahoma. No one should be sent bad food but spoiled raw chicken and Turkey is unthinkable. I would not recommend this service to anyone, especially not someone with a major health that requires they eat healthy meals.
Received my first box after trying to switch from Hello Fresh. Upon opening I noticed a rancid smell. My two bags of shrimp were completely thawed and both bags popped open ALL over my other bags of food. My two other items of meat were not frozen at all. Whoever packed my box did not do their diligence in ensuring the ice was packed correctly. All my food was covered in shrimp juice and warm. Will NOT be ordering from them again.
Terrible company…First off we signed up for vegetarian food choices…They send us a bunch of meat…Then we want to skip a week we are still charged 131.00. For what they said was a order 2 weeks from the date of delivery. Terrible company we ended up donating the food…Avoid this COMIT all cost.

Answer: Green chef and Hello Fresh are the same company. There are many food delivery options available at varying price points. I plan to try a company called Trifecta next as they are advertised as higher quality and better options to customize meals, to avoid food allergens for example.
