I just ordered a Corned Beef and Cabbage pie to serve to guests for St. Paddy's day. It was shown to serve 6-7 people, it cost $69.00, which shame on me, was way too much to begin with. This pie arrived and not only looks like it was assembled by a child, it could feed no more than one hungry man, maybe two ladies over lunch with a salad to fill in... Goldbelly is unwilling to do anything about this terrible order. I am so sorry this happened, because I have been a loyal customer for some time now... never again.
I requested a essa bagel deliver on Wednesday 3/4 for today 3/9 at 9:15 am. Scheduled for 5:00 today! I am not paying for this. No reason for this. Cannot call anybody to discuss issue. Don't use them if you need customer service too?!
Don't order anything from these people. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. They upsell you for guaranteed delivery, don't deliver the product you pay for on Valentines day, then tell you to read their shipping policy when the fruit arrives a week late, and rotten. Unreal. This is of course, after you talk to their customer service with template responses for 2 weeks. Absolute garbage pile of a company.
I ordered 2/12 for a 2/24 delivery. Today is 3/2. It has not left the vendor. I have had to email multiple times and keep being told it will ship, but hasn't shipped. If you need something delivered at a specified time- this is NOT your vendor. Would not use again.
Goldbelly sent me a pizza with sausage that was expired. When I received the item it had been expired for 5 weeks (I received it in mid-February and it had expired in early January). When I contacted them they told me they could not replace the item because they did not want to incur additional shipping costs.
I ordered chocolate covered strawberries for my mother a week before Valentine's day. The shipping link showed that it wasn't even shipped when Valentine's day came around. 2 weeks later the order finally arrived as a stinky, moldy, oozing mess. The phone number for customer support tells you to leave a message and they will get back to you in 48 hours. No one ever did. The recorded message says to write to support@ goldbelly. Com, and I did that several times. NO ONE RETURNED MY EMAIL. Do Not Use This Company. It is a terrible waste of money and I can only hope my review helps save others from a disastrous hassle.
I paid $50 for expedited shipping to have lobster rolls and whoopie pies for my birthday dinner. When the tracking showed that my order was not going to be delivered on my birthday, I tried to contact Goldbelly. When I called, I got a message that because of the winter storms, Goldbelly was not answering phone calls. It was the worst customer service experience - because there wasn't any service. I sent two emails before receiving a response, and the response I got was that Goldbelly cannot control weather and only provides estimated shipping dates and therefore won't even refund my expedited shipping fee. That's nonsense. I also ordered pizzas from Talia di Napoli the same time I ordered from Goldbelly. The pizzas arrived - from Italy - but the lobster from Goldbelly did not arrive. When I checked the box for delivery on February 24 and agreed to pay the expedited shipping fee, it was with full understanding that I was paying an exorbitant sum to get my item here on a specific date. My lobster sat for more than 24 hours in a Fedex warehouse. Not okay for such a perishable item. If the weather is going to prohibit prompt delivery, then the item should not be shipped and the customer should be notified and refunded in advance.
Goldbelly clearly does not care about customer experience or even food safety. Goldbelly clearly only cares about getting paid and then disappearing.
I can't possibly say enough bad things about this service. Absolutely my worst online ordering experience ever. I ordered a bagel, lox, cream cheese special. Delivery was supposed to be several days ahead of the event. It shipped late; the weather was bad. The package was due Friday. I called and emailed Goldbelly Thursday because Fedex said the package was sitting in Memphis; no response. Did the same Friday; no response. Spoke with Fedex after a long hold, who were honest and said there were weather issues but they'd try to get it on the first available flight. Called and emailed Goldbelly Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. The package arrived Tuesday evening, spoiled compeltely. Goldbelly finally responded Wednesday, AFTER I initiated a dispute with American Express over the bill. GB's response was to offer me a credit! I then phoned Russ & Daughters and spoke with a lovely person who said she was going to get in touch with Goldbelly immediately. Only then did they issue a refund. Their website and phone machine say their customer service is available from 8am EST but this is completely untrue. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and from now on, will go directly to the restaurant.
Any business that can't manage to send even an automatic email for six full days shouldn't be in business. And after all this, their response to my BBB review was " During these times, we're experiencing extremely high order volumes, and email inquiries. We're a small team here at Goldbelly and we're getting back to everyone as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience. Tatiana and the Goldbelly Team". They didn't even bother reading the review, let alone explaining why ther was zero customer service for six days. Shockingly bad.
GOLDBELLY does NOT STAND BY THEIR ORDERS or TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. My friend ordered an 18 piece Valentine's themed box of macarons as a gift for Valentine's. What I received was a non-themed box of 8 pieces. If I had not carefully reviewed the receipt I could have easily missed this switch. There was NO customer service for the entire holiday weekend. Because of my complaint, the sender was offered a partial refund! Partial? I was sent 8 macarons for a cost of $98!
Because of my continued complaints the sender was offered a full refund, but the obnoxious, non-repentant, 4 days late email, no phone response, arrogant and dismissive attitude completely ruined my Valentine's holiday, and if this had been a professional gift, would have damaged the senders reputation. All without an apology. I honestly believe the 18 to 8 item switch was made on purpose to deceive. And how does an order made a week in advance of baked goods not get scheduled, baked and filled?

My son's future mother in law ordered a Christmas Steamer Pot +Pie and Cornbread for my son's birthday, which is December 26th. The order arrived at our house on the 18th, a week before the birthday celebration. We followed instructions and refrigerated the seafood, vegetables, pie and cornbread in our overflow refrigerator. When we took out the ingredients on the 26th, all of the seafood was spoiled and our refrigerator reeked of spoilage.
I kept all of the paperwork and instructions that arrived with the food. Nowhere in the instructions was a "use by" date or "what to do if you are not going to use right away" information. I exchanged emails with the company starting on December 27th and ending on January 15. Although I did not want money, as I did not pay for the food, I did want the company to acknowledge that the information was missing and agree to add that information with future orders. They claimed that the information was on the website; however, if I did not order the package, I would have no reason to go on the website. The company offered a $15 credit if I ordered something before March 1st. Again, I did not want money, but my son's future mother in law paid over $200 for this and should be compensated for some of this. I will NOT order from this company.
They took my order for something promised to be delivered by Christmas and then completely dropped responsibility for anything after that. One item was shipped to my recipient, one never arrived and I had to find out on my own much later by asking the person, otherwise I would never know the item was never shipped. When I told Goldbelly about this obvious problem NOW IN JANUARY they said they could cancel the order or ship it. What kind of service is that, that's what they do every single day, take your order or don't take your order, what the hell kind of way is that to treat someone whose money you've been holding nearly two weeks? Yes, I am aware I can place an order at any time, thank you for continuing to offer me the opportunity to hand you my cash while you either ship or don't ship what you promised. Way to go Goldbelly, above and beyond, and remember... when someone orders from you, they either DO or DO NOT want you to ship something somewhere to someone. It's anybody's guess. Thanks for giving me back MY MONEY. Never using this childish excuse for a business again. If they ask you to explain what you're mad about don't fall for it, it's a trap to waste your time while they pat themselves on the back they refunded you for a nonexist product, I mean thanks for not further breaking the law. You shouldn't even charge people for unshipped products, that's common practice and I am now reporting you to the FTC since you have continually bothered me to describe my story to you while you pretend you handled it.

This was our 12th purchase through Goldbelly, and the only one which we found disappointing.
The duck was very dry. Worse, it was chopped up into bite-size pieces. Who chops up a Peking Duck to a mixture of broken bones with the meat still attached? The scallions arrived frozen to mush. I went to the Jing Fong website. They are a Dim Sum place and the only mention of duck is as an appetizer.

Ordered a small wedding cake. They packed it so poorly that the cake was a disaster. ZERO CS and response! Don't use their service! Read their shipping policy-they aren't responsible for spoiled food.

Goldbelly will take your order. It will take your money. But it takes no responsibility after that. If the perishable items are delayed--even multiple days-- tough nuts. Eat it stale, according to GB. And good luck trying to cancel an order, even just hours of placing it. I'm looking for alternatives.

My 8 year old daughter was so happy with so much anticipation to receive her birthday cake on February 12th, 2021. We placed the order two weeks in advance, with Goldbelly asking us to pick out a day for delivery. So we picked out the day before the birthday(February 12th). The item shipped out the day before it was suppose to arrive. The cake did not arrive till the day after my daughters birthday. She was so bummed and cried all night. I brought my issue to Goldbelly and they could care less. I explained to them, I had to go get a cake from Vons and now have paid double for a cake, because your cake did not show up on time. Their customer service sucks and Goldbelly does NOT take care of their customers. BEWARE! If you need something on a special date, don't take their advice and pick a delivery date. Place the delivery date at least a week out. They do not take responsibility for their screw-up. I will NEVER buy from them again.

Boy do I feel taken advantage of! Six plain pizzas (about 10 inches in circumference) paid $13.33 per pizza ($80) plus shipping of $35+. The pizza are sold in their restaurant for $7 each ($42 total) which constitutes $78 for shipping, processing, placing the small units into a box and having fedex come to their door. The restaurant does not tell you of the size of the pizza! Shame on me for buying them. Very Poor disclosure on Goldbelly.The first and only time I will order from the site -- at least for the price I paid they could have sent larger pizzas given the very low incremental cost for the product.

Aside from my own orders which I was extremely disappointed in the product, Goldbelly whitewashes the reviews. Actually provides no option for direct customer review of a product. Posts list 4.7 positive reviews out of 25k reviews. Well what happened to the rest of the customers which number over 300k.
My products were absolutely horrible. I threw them away because there is no recourse or return. Goldbelly does deliver quickly but it seems whatever is advertised is not always what you get. BUYER BEWARE

I haven't received my order yet, but while on the site ordering there was a problem on the site, somehow 2 orders went through instead of one. Luckily I was able to cancel one before it shipped, but their credit policy is the worst. The money was taken from my account immediately for the 2 orders and they have the audacity to tell me up to 10 business days to process the credit. When I asked them to immediately process my credit they reiterated that it will be processed soon and within10 days. I've never had it take more than 2-3 days and the error was a double process on their website, not a clerical error on my side. No more Goldbelly for me!

Our team requested this be processed to put through on your initial email and it was processed the next day. However, the time it takes to post to an account may vary, depending on the financial institution. It is at the discretion of your credit card company as to how long it takes to process your credit. As a general rule, it can take up to 10 business days to receive said credit.
Once a refund is issued by Goldbelly, we are no longer in possession of the funds.

I ordered 2 king cakes through gold belly.com when they arrived they were both stale. I reached out to the basket and they would refund me had I ordered directly through them, but since I had not I was told to reach out to goldbelly. After reaching out to goldbelly I was told to refer to the return policy that all sales are final & was offered a $15 credit for future orders mind you my stale cakes were over $60. Wow! My 1st time using this company & will be my last. Watch the find print & done expect this company to do the right thing. I understand no refunds, but they could have at least gave me a full credit to use! As easy as it would have been for me to get a refund from the originating bakery they could have done so also.

Answer: They aren't necessarily a scam, but very poor customer service policies. If anything goes wrong with your order, like it did with mine, they just blocked me from their Facebook page so I couldn't leave a review. It's just luck if your order arrives and looks as you would expect and if it doesn't you are out of luck. Just contact local bakeries or restaurants and have them deliver for you, no reason to pay Goldbelly and have a third party who cares nothing about your order throw it around in the back of their truck and deliver it trashed. Goldbelly is unscrupulous and a big risk of wasted money.
