Placed 2 orders with this company. First order worth $344 shipped without incident within 10 days. Placed 2nd order just 2 weeks later for $129 and have been waiting for 42 days. I was given a BS response that my address wasn't verified through PayPal and it was a high dollar order. There is no verification. Then a message that we're sorry. Will ship in 3-5 days. That was 10 days ago. Try to talk to someone, good luck. They will NOT speak to you. Will NOT return calls or emails. I reached out to them 3 times by phone and email with no response. I stumbled into a response by signing into my account and that's were I found the BS excuse. Terrible organization. Will NEVER order from them again. Do yourself a favor and buy from someone else!
Got parts for a envoy rear end bumper and crash bar only to find I did not need the UNOPENED foam spacer tried to return the part had to pay for shipping and they only gave me %75 of what I paid, and waited almost two months to do it Go to Rock auto if you can, there not going to charge you a restock fee or make you pay shipping
GMPartsDirect.com provides a VIN lookup tool on the HOMEPAGE of their website to help consumers identify products that one would assume fit/work with the supplied VIN#. However, if the part/item does not work and you don't supply your VIN at the point of purchase you are not given a full refund, they withhold 35%.
I utilized the VIN# lookup tool on their homepage as I was looking for replacement headphones for an SUV. I purchased the recommended headphones based on VIN and they did not work. I was refunded 65% of the total price and informed I did not provide my VIN# for them to verify my purchase. Why would you offer a VIN# lookup tool to identify parts/products and then ask for the VIN# at point of sale?
I ordered headphones that did not work and returned them in the original box in the same condition I received. I didn't procure an engine part or electrical component that could potentially be damaged or impossible to resale. The customer service in my attempt to retrieve my additional 35% was not accommodating in the least bit. Reading other reviews it's obvious this level of service is common.
Spend your money elsewhere.
They sent wrong item. After 17 calls the first day finally got someone who said they would file ticket. 72 hours later and 22 calls later, numerous additions to their ticket system and still not sure what to do with the wrong rim. They will not take care of anything. I needed the rim not having to fight for days and still receive no response. I would NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS CORRUPT PLACE!
Made 2 orders from them in 2 months for parts for our Chevy Express Cargo Van. Some parts were labeled special order, was told it might take a couple weeks to ship, but they arrived in less than 3 weeks. Works for me!
Second order was body panels for the same van. Got them in less than 3 weeks also!
You must pay attention to parts availability. Don't just 'add to cart' without checking. Customers do bear some responsibility!
Anyway, they did just fine by me. I've had worse experiences with other online retailers.
Their order process is Horribly confusing and time consuming. They Wasted 2 weeks of my time. Order your parts with a different company.
I ordered a fuel pump 1 yr 2 months ago and paid $1000. I had the pump install by Chevy Dealership. My trucks service light turned on and truck struggled to turn over. I had truck looked at. Same Chevy dealership. Code came back fuel pump is bad. A fuel pump should not go bad in just a year. So I tried contacting company for warranty options. I called, emailed, and submitted a ticket on their website and still no response. My next step is contacting the BBB. I provided a picture of my purchase for proof to anyone thinking about ordering from this company
Ordered a replacement coolant hose on June 24. Paid $16.71 for shipping. Order did not ship until June 30. Order did not arrive until July 2. Vehicle was not operable without the hose. I found one locally because of how long it took for my GMpartsdirect order to arrive. I sent GM Parts Direct an email on July 2 asking for a refund. I received no reply. I then went to their website and submitted a customer support ticket, asking for a refund. I was never contacted by the company. Ten days later they marked my ticket as "closed", without ever contacting me or issuing the requested refund. I opened a second customer service ticket online. Several days later, this ticket was also marked as "closed". I was never contacted regarding my second ticket, and never issued a refund. Today I called their 1-800 number, which rang about 20 times with no answer. I left a voicemail message, even though I was calling during normal business hours. I received no call back.
After one email, two customer support help desk tickets, and a voicemail, I have received NO communication from this company whatsoever. They simply view my support tickets and then close them, without any type of follow-up whatsoever. INSANELY unprofessional customer service. I will never buy parts from them again. Buyer beware!
I've ordered 5 times from GMPartsDirect (which is really Flowauto)
The parts take a while to come but they do come.
The larger problem is the customer service is limited.
They won't answer questions on parts, and the instant it ships they stop answering calls.
I ordered parts this last time and they sent me older parts that were deprecated.
I can't get an explanation from them on that.
It's not a great feeling installing an obsolete part.
I had previously ordered parts from them and no problems. I ordered parts in November 2019 and fully understand all the GM strike ramifications, but we are way past that. On numerous occasions they said the parts came in and shipping just has to send them out. Everytime I finally get someone to answer the phone, they say they will call back or put me on hold just to hang up. THIS IS BY FAR THE WORSE PARTS COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH - overall rating needs to go into negative numbers! 1 star is giving them too much credit!
If you place an order here, they will never ship the part nor answer your calls/emails. Then when you get tired of them and you cancel, they will immediately charge you 35% of order total. This is how they run the business and make money literally. No matter what reason you would not get your shipment, they will charge you 35% no matter what. ENJOY DEALING WITH THEM.
Ordered steering wheel spoke covers for my '07 Avy on Dec 26. Backordered for almost a month. Finally got an email with a FedEx tracking number Jan 21 saying it shipped and they billed my credit card. The parts were delivered Jan 25 in a box much larger than what I was expecting. Inside the box was a used car seat cushion and a cover for it that are shown in the picture. Unbelievable, I was a bit po'd to say the least. I'm sure it was some sort of a joke they can't be that stupid. I used Paypal and disputed it. They gave GMparts 10 days to respond. No response so I got full refund to my credit card two days later. Go elsewhere for parts they do not want to do business.
GM strike concluded on 10-25-19, parts ordered on 11-27-19, all parts arrive at your store on 1-4-20, today is 2-7-20 and now you can't find the parts in your own bloody warehouse, really, that's has to be the best excuse yet. Whose the ring master and where are the clowns? I'm done. Story after excuse after story after excuse as to why you are to inept to perform a service you're actually advertising for. I actually believe you have a business model around cancelled orders, this way you get to charge 'restocking fees'. I have to wonder what the parts managers annual bonus comes to... I can only surmise that it equals the annual restocking fees that you generate.
On 16 January I ordered a $600.00 catalytic converter (plus paid almost $100.00 for expedited two-day shipping) for my truck. On 22 January the part still had not shipped. Since the part was for my primary vehicle, I found the part locally and installed it. I went to the gmpartsdirect.com website and opened a help ticket requesting cancellation of the order, and got a reply email that my request had been received and was being processed. Seven days later on 29 January I got a notification from FEDEX that the part was shipped on 28 January and would be delivered 29 January. I promptly called flow chevrolet, the owners of the gmpartsdirect.com website, and asked them why my order was not cancelled. The rep apologized and said that they were a small company and sometimes the staff was unable to process all of the incoming email in a timely manner. I told her I was not going to accept delivery of the part (a signature was required). She said that was fine when they received the part back they would return my payment minus shipping and a restocking fee of 25%. The expedited original shipping plus the return shipping plus the 25% restocking fee amounted to almost $300.00. I asked her why the company would not accept responsibility for their failure to cancel the order promptly and she said their return restocking fees and shipping policies are in effect no matter what the reason for the return. BUYER BEWARE!
My order I placed 30 days ago I've been calling weekly for an update and on this last phone call they said they were waiting for one last part. They then informed me that they would not overight it even though they've had my order for 30 days and my money for 30 days! This place is a rip off if you want to wait over a month for parts definitely order from this place! You've been warned. It's a complete joke! Crappy service and absolutely 0 updates through the process! We've had a work truck torn down for over 30 days and the customer needs his truck!
Total hacks, take the money and run, there phone just rings and rings, and than tell you to leave a VM and than never respond
On October 28,2019 I ordered a crankshaft from gmpartsdirect, which is owned and operated by Flow Buick GMC of Winston-Salem, for $190.63 plus shipping, totaling $221.81. According to the website, orders generally ship within 3 business days. If the items are not in stock, the website says that the items would ship in 3-7 days. Upon placing my order, nothing was stated that the item was not in stock. On the 3rd day, December 31,2019, I called to enquire as to when my order would ship. I was informed that due to recent GM Strike, that my order would ship late. I Asked if I would receive my order by Friday, November 9,2019, and I was informed that I would not, I was also informed that I should see if I could purchase my part locally. I agreed and requested a refund. The representative said no problem and our conversation ended. I received another phone call shortly after from gmpartsdirect. I was left a voice mail stating that I would be charged a 35% restocking fee for canceling my order. I immediately called back and was told the same thing. I asked the representative how could I be charged for a restocking fee of an item that THEY don't have in stock?! I was told that once an order is placed, they have to charge the restocking fee upon cancellation. I was told that it would take about a month to get the part, so GM had not shipped the item to the dealership yet! So why am I being charged for something that hasn't even been shipped out yet!?
Tried to return a part that was never installed. I tried multiple times using the sites instructions for returns and never received a return authorization and never received a reply. Horrible customer service. I will never purchase from again. STAY CLEAR!
I purchased four items from this company for more than $350.00. One of the gm eom parts I received was defective. The parts chrome was peeling and was a piece of junk! That same day I received it I requested a return shipping label so I could replace it. It was refused. I tried calling but they will not answer but the recording refers to online customer service. There is no communication at all. I asked legitimate questions, politely. It is their choice to lose my business over $98.00, now it is my choice to tell gmpartsdirect to stop soliciting my business via email. Gmpartsdirect has photos of the damage.
I ordered a bezel latch for my Z71 console-- AND paid for 2 day shipping. I received an email stating order processed and N/A for ETA--WTF? The part was $21.74 and 2 day shipping brought it to $59+ Since their website has no way of checking on status I emailed and called, leaving a message. Meanwhile I called my local Chevy dealer- they could get the latch in next day with no additional cost and part was only $35 including tax.
When GMPD called me back I asked how to find out if it was being shipped and ETA-- and was rudely told "you only ordered it a day ago-we have to order it and when we receive it, your TWO DAY shipping begins". SERIOUSLY?
I said cancel it at that time, called the local dealer back and got a call the next morning that the part was already in! If we could give negative stars we would!
Answer: The price, what a big mistake I made, real bad expirence.
Answer: Impossible. Tried emailing and calling and nobody ever responds
