I found and have been using Gixen bid sniper since at least 2010 and I could not be happier with it. Initially I used only their free service but eventually I felt a bit guilty because I'd been able to snipe and save money on items I really wanted so many times. I bought a subscription and I've been buying one every year since then because it pays for itself if you're an eBay deal hunter like I am. I don't always win what I want but I usually do and can often do so at a much lower price than I would have otherwise been able to pay. Gixen is fantastic, simple, no frills. It's not the prettiest user interface but it's overall very reliable and fairly simple. I recommend it to everyone I know who's trying to score deals on eBay. Mario responds quickly to any support questions I've ever had and has been thoroughly helpful in resolving any problems.

I've won a lot of tough auctions already, sniping gixen in the last few seconds.
It's safe because as an ebay app, it doesn't save your password.

I've been a Gixen user since I started using eBay back in 2006, or not much later. I was so frustrated, losing auction after auction. Gixen made it possible to get items I wanted, and at a great price. Gixen is the best idea ever.

If you would like peace of mind, literally while you sleep, that you will likely win that coveted item on eBay, then you MUST sign up for and use Gixen - there's nothing like it in auction snipe programs and it's free!

I started using Gixen in September of 2009, and have been using their sniping tools for the last decade. It has NEVER let me down, in all those years. Excellent service, I owe them so many eBay wins.

Long Time Gixen User.
January 6, 2020

I have used Gixen for years and I am very happy with the service. At first I used the free service but then upgraded to the mirror service using a backup server for about $6.00/year. Honest, Reliable and Dependable what more can you ask for?

I've been using Gixen as a buyer for several years and it's great! You set up a snipe for an ebay auction listing and seconds before the auction closes it automatically submits it.

With the paid service it has multiple servers to make sure the bid goes through. I'd never had problems with the free tier but pay to support the developer, and it's only $6/yr and I am sure it's saved me a lot more than that over the years.

As to the one star review from almost 5 years ago, gixen is certainly not a spammer or malware site. Those have to run malicious software on your own computer or exploit vulnerabilities in browsers - gixen is a very simply site, and I doubt it even uses Javascript. It's totally safe.

Gixen doesn't even need your ebay credentials but rather requires authorization from ebay to submit bids on your behalf. That takes less than a minute to setup and you're good to go.

If you've been frustrated by escalating auctions on ebay that get out of hand and raise your price, this is the only service I know of that works. Try it!

I've been using this service for 3 years. This is one of the best bidding sites I have used. I used to use bid-o-matic until I found a web based product with similar features.

The subscription service is top notch and you get regular communications from the owner about improvements or prompt notifications if something goes wrong ( mirror down, or internet interuptions, both of which are rare occurrences).

Gixen Works Great
January 6, 2020

I've been using Gixen for a couple years now. It's legit; it works great; it's a great value. You put in your max bid and receive an Email whether you won or not. There's a Firefox extension called Autosnipe that makes it easy to interface with Gixen. It creates an extra "Add to Gixen" button above the normal eBay "Place Bid" button. Gixen is a great product.

For years I used AuctionMagic, but since AM stopped being supported by it's developer and now no longer works, I searched for another service. I've been using Gixen now for several weeks, and it works flawlessly. Unlike my previous auction software, my computer doesn't have to be on for the snipe. On the downside, there is no (at least not yet) "Logic" that would allow a snipe to occur or not if a previous snipe was unsuccessful or was successful.

I love Gixen
January 6, 2020

I love Gixen and use it all the time. It is free but I use Gixen Mirror to keep the site going.
Gixen allows you to bid on eBay in the last few seconds and that way you can give it your best shot without running up the bids. Also if you change your mind you can easily edit or remove your bid.
I've used Gixen for years now and never had a problem. I had a question once and Mario answered right away!

I've used Gixen for eBay sniping for many years. It's highly reliable and functional, including mirror service. The cost is negligible compared to snipe advantages, such as not having to baby sit the bids. The owner of Gixen, Mario also does a great job communicating to Gixen users of any policy changes, eBay API updates, occasional server issues (typically main and mirror are NOT affected simultaneously). The Gixen forum is also highly functional and friendly. All in all Gixen is a great service that pays for itself after the first bid.

Please ignore the negative 1 star review from Fred F - Gixen does not install any SW on Mac computers.
I've used Gixen browser based on multiple computers including Windows workstations and Mac. On Windows I"ve used Gixen Desktop software a long time ago, but now I just use browser based. On Mac there is no desktop software available to install, it's all browser based, like browsing a website.

Gixen is the real deal
January 6, 2020

I only occasionally use Ebay for competitive bidding items, but when I do, Gixen is my friend. The service is remarkably well designed, and while I might be outbid once in a while, Gixen gives me a highly flexible mechanism for sniping. It not only allows me to relax and let the automatic process work, I think it's likely I save 15 or 20 percent on average. I recommend Gixen highly.

This is the first time I've ever written a review for anything! Gixen is excellent. I use it all the time, and it has enabled me to win hundreds of items on Ebay at great prices. I've never had a problem, except that if you put in more than one bid at exactly the same time, Ebay will sometimes reject those bids, as Ebay's software considers it impossible for the same user to be entering bids on multiple items at the same time. Some sellers do list their items so that multiple items end at exactly the same second, but fortunately Gixen includes the number of days, hours, minutes and seconds until the end of each auction, making it easy to spot this. The solution is to adjust the offset time of your bids. For example, if three items are ending at the same moment, you can enter bids on all three but set the timing of your bids at 8,6, and 4 seconds before the end of the auction. Problem solved! I'm not sure if you have to be subscribed to Gixen Mirror ($6 per year or less if you sign up for multiple years) to be able to do this, but that brings me to the other point - the regular Gixen service is free! I mean really free, which I think is unbelievable. Rather than having to put in bids manually and often well before the end of the auction, this service helps you win items that you might not have if you had placed your bid earlier and to win items at lower prices. I can jump on a computer, put in my bids for all the items I want to bid on that end in the next 24 hours, and forget about it. The other point is that the guy who runs this service, Mario, has been very good with communication with the users. He periodically posts updates, has sometimes asked for user input, and overall seems to be really on top of things and trying his best to make the service as good as possible. I am 55 years old and have now written my first review!
