I've been promoting my service as a pianist through GigSalad for about a year and a half, and I've been very pleased with the results! Their platform provides a nice level of security and confidence for both parties, and I don't think I could better reach potential clients without significantly more cost and effort.
Although I have been with GigSalad for a while now, this was the first time I have been able to accept a gig opportunity. They were very prompt answering my questions about how payment works. It was really easy, and their fees were very reasonable. I highly recommend working with GigSalad if you are looking for more gigs.
I hired Stevie Blatz (stevieblatz.com) for my sons 21st Suprise Birthday party He was excellent he played great music for all and mixed with a lil karaoke fun. Our Family had MANY partys hands down Stevie was the BEST
You will never use anyone again once he does your party...

I've only just started (within the last week) my membership with GigSalad. To check them out, I went with the Free Membership option although I'm already considering one of their Paid Memberships for the near future. Setting up my Profile was easy and painless. One thing I really like is the ability to request, and have posted, reviews from previous Event Coordinators (even those not booked through GigSalad). Though I have not yet received a booking through GigSalad I'm looking forward to a long, lasting and successful partnership with them.
Hired a musician
Musician did not come prepared
Worked half the hours we paid for
We wrote a review on gig salad bag they removed it
There clearly bias and protecting there musicians by removing bad reviews
Not a transparent way to do business
Gigsalad is superb website with all the professional tools! I've been using there service for many years.
As advertised by Gig's they do offer as they provide a Worry-Fee Guarantee, but only if all contracts are done though Gig's. In its self there is nothing wrong with that, what they do wrong is that they release your contact information to the vendors right away, before any of the bids have accepted or even reviewed by you. This opens the system up to scammers, just what happened to me. One of the vendors contacted me directly, we set a contract and he never delivered. Since this was my first time using Gig's I thought that since Gigs provided the vendors my info this was how things are done. I only found out that Gig's about the Worry-Fee Guarantee shortfall when asked them for help.
Gig's should not be releasing your personal contact info, so that vendors can contact you directly, if the whole premise of their "Worry-Free Guarantee" is based on working through the Gig service.
GigSalad is by far the best resource that I have found for my jazzreggae band Byrds of a Feather. Their price structure is very fair and their web site is very effective at getting clients. I have also used their better known competitor, and GigSalad has far better clients. I don't claim to know the reason, but there is really no comparison to the quality of the gigs I get from Gigsalad compared to their competition, who also charges more and delivers far less. Also, they a pleasure to work with, and I get the feeling they really care about the musicians they serve. 3 cheers for GigSalad!
I have been an entertainer in the private events industry for over 12 years. My experience with the platform and its technicians has been nothing short of stellar! They really care about the artists that use their website for booking private events. I only wish I would have signed up with GigSalad sooner than just a few years ago. I greatly appreciate this group of people and will continue to highly recommend GigSalad to my peers and friends!
I heard about this site at Charles Howard Santa School. Then my daughter mentioned it. My wife researched and signed us up. We have got so many request for Santa and Mrs Claus that we have to turn down more than we can book. We love this site and plan on staying with it
Thank you, Santa Robert! We're so happy to have you and Mrs. Claus on our platform and hope you have a very merry Christmas!
It is really easy to find good entertainment on this site, and the site is easy to use. Give it a try!
We appreciate the kind words, Rick! Thank you for sharing.
Hi all, Just wanted to give a review of Bobby B
From gigsalad
I have never used gigsalad before to book someone but after reviewing different artist and watching some videos on youtube
I was so pleased to have found him.
He came on time for setup and tuned up his guitars, he had a great personality and a beautiful voice.
The party started at 12 pm on Oct 3,2021at the Seastar ball room in Riverhead ny
I was so excited to finally meet and hear him play.
Well I must say he was INCREDIBLE!
From start to finish
His song list was perfect and he made my daughter's baby shower a hit.
I had so many compliments on how amazing he was.
I can't wait for the next party to have him play again.
Bobby B. If you read this
I just want to say Thank you again!

Thank you so much for sharing, Debbie! We're so happy to hear this and congratulations on your new grandbaby!
This company recommends a refund/cancellation policy for their vendors then circumvents it to suit their own profiteering needs. When a vendor complains they remove the vendor from their site no matter how excellent or for how many years the vendor has performed. This company is as unethical and unprofessional as it gets!
Hi Santa, while we're sorry to see you're still frustrated, we have clearly explained this situation to you on numerous occasions. The client you're referring to booked you in error and immediately notified both you and our customer service team to rectify the situation. The cancellation policy didn't apply in this case since it was clear she meant to book a different Santa Claus. We gave you the opportunity to be understanding and flexible, but in the end, getting the deposit was more important to you. We paid you the deposit out-of-pocket (so no profit was made on our part) and based on your continuous expression of dissatisfaction with our platform, we removed your profile. We wish you all the best in the future.
This was our "Next of Kin" first Gig Salad gig, and it was a good one (5) stars from our purchaser, and (5) stars from us to Gig Salad. It was sooo seamless, and a smooooth, pleasant experience for us. All we had to do was submit a Quote (that was excepted) and Gig Salad handled the rest. They even sent us reminders of things to remember to do prior to the gig, which was very helpful. Our gig was on a Saturday, on the following Monday our money was in the bank. Thanks Gig Salad, we are looking forward to doing more business with you.
This is so great to hear, Alan! We wish you many more gigs and success on our platform.
My big beef with Gig Salad is they charge either a commission per gig or a yearly advertising fee, but then they publish reviews, at times erroneous bad reviews, and leave them up there even when you have evidence that the customer is gaming their system to get a refund or discount. So you pay to be "promoted" and then have to tolerate being bad mouthed from scammy customers who damage your reputation and you have no recourse. Second beef is they pit vendors against each other for bids. This practice attracts a lot of cheapskates, time wasters and looky-loos, only looking for a cheap price. "Leads" but very poor quality leads. Gig Salad condemns itself with its own stats - on my profile, since 2011, it says I have had over 5600 profile views and over 2000 inquiries but only 15 bookings. This company seems to be comprised of techies that are good at Google algorithms so their site ranks high in the search results. For that reason I leave my free profile up and pay the commission on the infrequent gig I do get from them. But their policies are NOT vendor friendly... you waste a lot of time with inquiries looking to spend amateur money on professional services. The irony is, when you have a problem, the 'help' screen says to write to a member of their 'customer happiness team.' Customer happiness my rear end. The help desk responses are patronizing and do not address the issue you ask about. I have gone back and forth with a 'customer happiness' team-let that just repeatedly sends canned responses but does not answer my question.
Hi Jill, we're sorry that you're dissatisfied with the platform and how it works. It seems that even though you've disliked our platform for years, you've found success using our Free membership and we're happy to see that you've landed some gigs with us at no cost to you (aside from the 5% booking fee). We strive to provide a great resource for performers to make a living doing what they love and do not actively pit vendors against each other. Having competitors is a part of doing business, whether GigSalad existed or not. We don't disclose other vendors' bids or any details about the booking in order to let each vendor manage their own quotes in the way they see fit. Each vendor has the same opportunity as the next to share their media, communicate with clients, and send free quotes to potential clients with no involvement from GigSalad. Regarding the negative review, we certainly understand how frustrating poor reviews can be. And as we explained, we cannot remove a review simply because a vendor doesn't agree with it. The best defense to a poor review is a professional and polite reply sharing your side of the story. We wish you all the best, Jill.
I set our band up on gigsalad based on a friend/fellow musician's recommendation. I admit, I was skeptical at first. But I started receiving quote requests inside of a week! I encourage any and all bands looking for bookings to sign up (unless you're in NW Arkansas - please leave that one alone for me!)
Awesome, John! We love hearing that our platform helps musicians like you. Thank you for sharing!
I enjoy listening and dancing to Touch of Gray Band. They do a great job of entertaining. They are just like a professional band. I moved to Arizona 12 yeas ago. When ever I hear where they are playing I make sure I attend there performance and tell my friends where they will be and how great they are.
Gig Salad Has been a Great Place where Ive generated My leads and displayed my Talent. Easy to access, fast response when I needed support from a live person. I would recommend it Gig Salad to Everyone who Has a Growing Gig, Or Wanting to Get Started Promoting one. This is A Good place to Start
Hi Kimberly, thank you for the kind words! We're so glad to hear that the platform is working well for you.
Answer: Hi Mark, We have only been reviewed a few times on this site, and most seem to be by disgruntled users. Those 20 reviews are no way the reflective voice of our over 2 million users. You can see a much more well-rounded view of our company by visiting Trustpilot.com. We'd encourage you to read our responses to the low reviews, too, so that you get the whole story. To answer your question about fees, we take 2.5% from bookings for our paid members, and 5% from bookings for our free members. If you have any further questions, feel free to email us at [email protected] or call 417-889-9909. Thank you!

We'd be happy to walk you through the process of how GigSalad works and tips to make your profile more optimized for more leads and bookings. Answer: Hi Lynette, thanks so much for reaching out. We completely understand wanting to feel confident before paying in full, especially for something as important as a memorial service. While GigSalad doesn't offer a deposit option, we provide peace of mind in a few key ways. When you book through our platform, your payment is held securely and isn't released to the vendor until after the event. That means your money is protected until services are completed. If you have any questions about the wait staff you're considering or need help choosing the right fit, we're here for you every step of the way. Our goal is to make the booking process as smooth and worry-free as possible. Let us know how we can help!
Answer: Hi Hidetoshi, thank you for the question! Unfortunately, you cannot transfer reviews from other platforms. However, you can request reviews from past clients - even those who didn't book you on GigSalad. Just click on the Reviews tab in your Dashboard, then Request Reviews. They won't be verified, but it's a good start for your profile until you get some bookings. Please reach out to [email protected] with any other questions in the future.
Answer: Hi Stacey, I'm sorry that this site (and your question) wasn't on our radar until now, but if you're planning anything this year, we'd love to help. Please call us at 417-889-9909 or email us at [email protected]. Thank you!
