We have two decades of experience in showbiz and thought we would give gig salad a six month trial. What a wast of money. All the leads are blanketed leads that go out to thousands of entertainers. Most of them don't even fit the criteria you are offering. We figured a lead would be a potential client who actually views a profile and then inquired. It's a shameful company feeding on entertainers and along the way a small percentage will be booked. If it was a legitimate site they would offer a free platform and only take a 10 or 20% fee of the booking as real agents do.
I'm an entertainer with a singing telegram, custom poetry, also custom comedy business. This platform is simple to use and offers a lot of features to entrepreneurs who are just getting started like myself. I would highly recommend! :)
DO NOT USE! Hired Marisol AKA Maria Bonilla from Goodyear az *******970. Went on Gigsalad website. Marisol responded gave her all the info. I stated for her to video part and call me after she stated ok. Maria stated she had to be paid in advance and in full thru PayPal. I agreed to $200.00 for 5 min. She called back said she needed more money for gas. I paid her extra 25.00. She said she was all set. Day before even and day of event she never responded. I had tammy at the event with her dog NO one showed up from gig salad Marisol AKA Maria Bonilla I called event they have ring doorbell no one rang door bell nor any motion except tammy walking her dog. Never called. I called her left messages no response she blocked number call from fax she picked up said this is her cousins phone the blocked. I wrote her on GIG salad message she blocked me and said contact gig salad They ripped me off. Beware Reading all the reviews see this happens a lot Karma is going to catch up with them

I am extremely disappointed with this service. I asked for a musician/instrumentalist and was given a magician, fire juggler, cirque de solei and a robot type acts. Why did they ask what I wanted if they were going to ignore it.
After many wonderful experiences working with Gigsalad, I wanted to take this opportunity to share how professional and artist-friendly their service is. Their technology is superb and works incredibly well both in terms of helping clients book artist services to how they support individual artists. As a jazz guitarist who is both an individual performer and jazz trio, I could not be more pleased by my association with Gigsalad and certainly plan to continue this rewarding relationship as their web presence and design provides excellent leads and bookings.
Very easy to use, I'm on the free plan and still get quite a bit of leads. Tech support is also very helpful and courteous. Recommended!
This is my second year using GigSalad for Santa jobs. I highly recommend this site for job leads. The jobs were high quality and were truly inspiring.
GigSalad is by far my biggest source of new leads every holiday season. They make it easy to message clients without committing to a booking, and if you pay to list with them, they do not even require that you book via their platform. I don't like that they don't provide the client's email address, EVER, at any stage of the booking process. I don't like the amount of the fees they will slap on top of quotes that I send to clients - it is extremely jarring and confusing to clients when they have negotiated a rate with me to then find out they are going to pay about 8% more (the amount/percentage is not consistent and they are not transparent about how much the fees will be, either). And finally, I don't like that there are no ways to send multiple options in GigSalad quotes.
That being said, they definitely deliver leads if you are paying for their highest listing level. Their SEO is very good and it makes a lot more sense for me financially to list with GigSalad than to try and keep up with changing SEO standards on my own website (I'm not a marketing or web design expert, I'm a musician!). Their customer service is pretty good although they don't really respond to suggestions, since I've made the "give us multiple options for quotes" suggestion many times, but they take care of transaction-related concerns right away.
I have listed my Christmas caroling business with several different online gig sites, and GigSalad is by far the best one. They make it very easy for me to respond to leads with my own premade templates. The fee that they charge for bookings is reasonable; it's actually less than I would usually pay for credit card processing fees (but I think they only offer that booking fee rate to featured listings, which artists need to pay for).
They always pay on time, and their customer service is very responsive. Compared to some other booking sites that I'm not going to name, dealing with Gig Salad is an absolute breeze, especially during the holidays when things move very quickly.
Gig Salad is a platform that cares about us artists. Thank you for your valuable help in promoting and respecting our profession.
Its a great site to find gigs. You only pay if the client accepts your quote.
It's user friendly and the customer service is great
I have used Gig Salad twice. The first time was a pleasure. The second time I had to cancel a few days after I booked the singer due to one of the guests being in the hospital for COVID. I in no way inconvenienced the performer, but they kept the whole $405 deposit. Be careful when booking if they ask for all of the money upfront. If you need to cancel, you WILL lose all of it.
I was booked for a private party by GigSalad. I called them with various questions and they were very helpful and friendly every time. Payment was quick and easy as well. I highly recommend them!

I reserved Tom Bourbon (A Jimmy Buffet) solo performer with GigSalad, I was very pleased with his services. He was prompt, kept in communication with me, he followed up and his performance was great. I would highly recommend using this service.

Paid for a singing telegram but they never showed up yet still said they did so Gigsalad refused a refund. Had to do a charge back instead. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Hi Scott, we wanted to take the opportunity to correct the misinformation you've shared here. The singing telegram you booked tried to complete the performance for your child. However, the adult guardian at the address was not comfortable with your attempt to contact the child via a singing telegram and dismissed the vendor. Since the vendor made every effort to complete the booking, we were obligated to release their payment. The recipient of a singing telegram cannot be forced into accepting the service, and that's no fault of the vendor or GigSalad. Thank you.
Hired David Byrd and his band for a 4th of July house party. Showed up early to set up and started on time.
Music was VERY good

Don't purchase the upgrade packages. They promise you will be at the top of searches and you will get more leads but you're not at the top and your leads are the same as a free account. They do not give refunds (even if you ask within 24 hours of purchasing) and there is no free trial. It's just a waste of money and I feel scammed. The free version is fine.

I honestly didn't expect much when I signed on for GigSalad. But I have been blown away by not only the amount of gigs I have landed, but also the service I have received from GigSalad. They are always extremely helpful and friendly any time I run into an issue. I started out with the FREE account and within a week or two had already received multiple leads. In January I decided to go ahead and pay for the highest level of booking. Less than 6 months in and I have 19 bookings with venues I would not have had otherwise. Thanks GigSalad. An incredible service for performers!

Hi Paulette, thank you for sharing your experience. Many vendors set a non-refundable deposit because they rely on the booking as their source of income and cannot risk losing money in the case of a cancellation. They've likely turned down other events to take a booking and wouldn't have time to book something new to recoup those funds. We certainly advise that our users closely read the cancellation policy set by each vendor before booking and negotiate what's best for all involved. GigSalad does not set the policy and can only enforce what is agreed upon between the client and the vendor.
