I have made multiple attempts at phone calls. Pursuing aa faulty washing machine bougjt 14. Months ago. I have spoken wirh several people at GE with no resolution. I wait on a call multiple times for over an hour or more. WHY DOES NOT GE RESPOND? My washing machine has broke after 14 months and the tech said there is nothing they can do to fix it. Unacceptable!
It's bead enough to have issues with your refrigerator going on for months & bring told by the authorized repair company they're "waiting on parts" but then it's never fixed & new problems pop up. But when it totally breaks down, you have no fridge for a week & GE won't honor their ext. Warranty & insist on keep trying to fix a dead horse. That's enough! BAD customer service!
New GE Monogram refrigerator does not work -- freezer ices over and shuts down all refrigeration. Customer service runaround is beyond comprehension. Have now spent 7 hours on hold waiting to speak with someone from customer service. Also, 3 different service people tell me three different things about what is wrong. Have waited for almost 4 months for a "part that is back ordered"... without a working refrigerator. Have decided to purchase a sub-zero and throw out the piece of junk.
Given GE Appliances in now owned by a Chinese company they are retaliating against U. S> consumers because of political pressure from Washington D. C.
Bottom line AVOID GE APPLIANCES.
I bought a brand new GE 27.8 Frenchdoor refrig that can't keep up on ice. I had a GE before and this new one had the same specs for ice making but I am ALWAYS OUT OF ICE. I called GE, they came out four times, cancelled two times and finally said tough crap. Bought it through Costco and they're concierge service couldn't do anything to help. GE is now owned by a Chinese company, wonder if that's why thier products and service are crap? DO NOT BUY GE PRODUCTS! I have learned my lesson.
They won't come out to fix my dishwasher which is under warranty. They keep canceling the appointment on me with no notification, or explanation of why. I've waited at a vacant home for hours, TWICE now. When I try to re-book, there are no appointments available for a long time. And now when I try to re-book, they are trying to charge me a trip fee when it's under warranty. There was not a trip fee for all the previous bookings, which they didn't show up to. Customer service reps on the phone are rude and not helpful. The info given on the phone is never consistent with what's on the website, so what's the point of the website at all? HORRIBLE.
I would never recommend a GE appliance ever again. We had a new GE fridge in February. The bottom ice maker stopped working in May. 3 weeks ago tech 33 came and replaced the valve. It still didn't work. He came back Today with an attitude and stormed out mid conversation when we were trying to explain the problem. Now we still have a broker ice maker. Please. Don't buy GE appliance because we cannot get the customer service to pick up the phone or any repair man to come and actually look at the refrigerator.
Do not waste your time, money or energy on ANYTHING GE. I recently bought a refrigerator in May 2020 and it is already not cooling/freezing. Calling the customer service number is anything but helpful. You will literally sit on hold for hours on end. As of right now, I am still trying to get my 4 month old refrigerator fixed and nobody will stand behind the 1 year warranty it came with. Buy at your own risk.
My husband and I bought a GE washer and dryer, at the time we were living in an apartment complex so we didn't have to use it till a month later. When we tried to use the washer, it didn't work. GE sent someone from a company they contract for warranty purposes and the technician called GE and was told that it was probably the accelerometer, the part was ordered and three weeks later the technician came back to fix the problem and was then told by someone at GE that now the problem is the inverter board. The technician also mentioned to me that GE prefers to throw large amounts of money trying to fix an appliance by ordering parts instead of just replacing the appliance. Again, out washer never worked, it was NEW. So I try to call their 1800 number and they transfer me to consumer affairs who leave me on hold for more than an hour at which point I have to hang up because I have actual work to do. Bottom line is that not even their customer service people can help you when you have an issue. I regret purchasing anything GE... never again and will tell everyone I know about my experience so they don't buy GE either.
We bought a new home 3 years ago and unfortunately bought the GE appliances recommended--GE oven, refrigerator, washer and dryer. All had or have problems. The refrigerator has leaked in the water dispenser since we first used it. I called someone out to fix it when it was under warranty and the GE service person just blamed my new plumbing on high water pressure. I had that checked and that is not the problem, it is the GE refrigerator. Also, on the refrigerator to replace the filter because of the censor you need to replace it with genuine GE filters which are expensive. The GE customer service for replacement parts are terrible as the website is not user friendly and the phone personnel are not helpful either. I just tried to order replacement filters and in ordering the filter at the price given me from a recent GE letter these could not be ordered at the price given on-line nor by telephone which is dishonest advertising. Then there is my washer that leaks almost continuously and sometimes starts up on its own in the middle of the night. This is my first negative review of any appliances and I have bought several in my long life. Save yourself the frustration of using and maintaining these appliances by buying something else.
My 84 year old mother bought a stackable washer/dryer from Lowe's for $1600 in April 2020. They delivered it to her house in May 2020 but would not enter to set it up due to COVID. She found a helpful friend to install but it did not work. In June a repairman came and said the machines worked except the locking mechanism on the washer was faulty and he need to order a part. It is now August 16 and my 84 year old mother has yet to use her appliances. She takes her laundry weekly to the launder-mat and pays to wash and dry her clothes. Does this seem right to anyone? Take my recommendation, NEVER BUY GE!
We purchased a GE Smart Air Conditioner on 7/5 it is now 8/10 and it stopped working yesterday. We don't run it during the day when we aren't home and we don't over use it. Still it is less then 2 months and not working. Lowe's won't take it back without a Return Authorization number from GE. After 2 hours of waiting to find out they do do RA's but they will come out to service my unit. About 4pm I get a call saying they can't service our unit and I have to go through their replacement process. Another hour to speak to someone from the Tier 2 company to explain the process... Where I go out and buy a new one which I don't have the money to do and send in my receipt and they will reimburse me in 4-8 weeks. WTF is that and why would I want to buy another POS GE air conditioner. This whole thing is totally unacceptable and real $#*!ty Customer Service. DO NOT BUY GE! I work in Customer service and this is not ok. I will be going to the BBB and anyone else I need to on this. This is what happens with a hot as women and poor $#*! customer service.
After spotting water pooling on floor I found Reverse Osmosis unit leaking. The problem was a fault that developed right through the plastic body, a pressure leak. This could have been a disaster! I found "standard" replacement units do not fit. It must be replaced with same defective part! Also inside washer is deteriorating!
Customer service is non existent as no one answered phone. I spent an hour listening to deliberately horrible hold music. Avoid GE Appliances!
I have been waiting on a double oven for weeks now. I have my purchase order and I'm waiting and waiting. I keep calling (On hold for a hour each time also to talk to someone) and keep getting told my dates are being pushed back. WELL... Today I call and I'm told they will no longer update me on my PO, it's company policy. WHAT THE HELL! You have my money but you refuse to tell me where my appliance is? I asked for a supervisor who rattled off her name so fast I couldnt write it down, she also told me she would not update me and hung up. I tried to ask for her name again and who she reports to, but nope, slam goes the phone and nothing. Done EVER buy GE crap. Dont repeat my mistake.
I got the glass top stove and it got super scratched after trying to use my issurance they said i have to still pay to get it fix DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS CRAP GE ITS REALLY CHEAP AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE WASTED MY TIME AND MONEYB
I purchased a new GE washer and dryer (GTD84GCPNDG) in February and started having problems with its heating in mid May. It took 2 weeks to finally contact a person and get a call back. I finally got a service tech. To look at it on 6/11. The diagnosis showed it needed to components replaced and 1 was on back order. I have called 3x since then and the entire time didnt get 1 update on the parts from GE. We are now entering week 12 and we STILL have a broken dryer. This rant will be echoed on social media sites and in any on-line ratings I can find as there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for this HORRIBLE customer service!
I ordered a three pack of water filters for my GE refrigerator from GE Appliances online on July 24,2020 and received an email confirming the order. My credit card was charged on July 26. I checked the status online several times which indicated "picked." On July 30, I contacted GE Appliance customer service (CS) online trying to find out when the order would ship. I received an automated response indicating that a support team member would reply as soon as possible. No one ever replied. On August 7, I called CS. I was told the filters were backordered until the second week in September. I asked to cancel the order. The CS representative told me the order could not be canceled in their system since it was "picked," although on backorder. The CS representative said I could cancel the order through my credit card company. In summary, wasn't easy to use their website to order, status was hard to determine, was never notified item was on backorder and couldn't cancel. The good news is, I was able to get the filters with next day delivery on Amazon Prime. The price was the same and shipping was free (GE charged for shipping).
My $1,300 GE refrigerator suddenly stopped dispensing water after only 9 years! I called the company- 1 800 GECARES, and that couldn't be further from the truth! GE does NOT CARE! This pos $95 BILLION Co couldn't care LESS about people! I'm disabled and on a fixed income and they tell me my frigerator is only covered for ONE YEAR?!?! And it's $100 to just send someone out to diagnose it, and that's not including parts and labor! So then I thought I would try to troubleshoot it myself, and I figured out on my own, because they were zero help, that you need a bypass plug in order to do this. At geappliances.com it says, "If the plastic bypass plug was not supplied with the refrigerator or has been misplaced, one can be ordered at no charge by calling 1-800-GECARES. In Canada, call *******344". So I tried calling, which it's almost impossible to get a person, & I finally get a "Darius" on the phone and he immediately says that that only applies if you're appliance is less than 1 year old! That's not what they claimed! There was no timeframe stipulation-- that's false advertising! So after being on hold for 10 mins for a manager, someone gets on the phone and hangs up on me! GE has the worst customer service I have ever encountered! And I will never buy another GE product again! And if you're smart you won't either! The world should not be run by money hungry greedy huge conglomerates who don't care about people!
GE GDT225SSL0SS is the worst dishwasher I have ever had. It lasted 1 year and 3 months, and then it started leaking water from all corners. We called GE and they sent a technician($109 for the trip) and he looked at it and said "it is time to buy a new one"... after this I'm not buying another GE dishwasher... Before I owned Bosch and Frigidaire and had no problems with those ones.
I did not receive the first part, they charged me, and rebilled me once I disputed it, the part we did get did not work, we sent it back and have not received the refund, I disputed the charge and they again rebilled me, I have been changed twice, one for a part I did not receive and one returned. They will not respond to messages with the RMA number for the returned part. I have an open case with the BBB and will be reporting them to the attorney general soon if things are not resolved. I would never buy a part from them or buy another GE appliance.
Our builder put GE appliances in our home, we had no choice. They were supposed to be top of the line, but in a little over 4 years I had to completely replace the dishwasher and then the oven started having problems. The probe housing was shorting and always wanted the probe plugged in. Next the thermostat would not shut off the oven when it reached temperature. During covid we had to wait 10 days for a service tech. That tech, over the course of three visits proceeded to completely break the entire oven, convection microwave included! It is a big dead metal box in my kitchen. He also bashed my pantry door and took two chunks out of it. He blew all 5 boards in my oven! 10 weeks of nightmare! What does GE say?... They are going through a parts review. Really? What the heck needs to be reviewed? Every time someone is supposed to call me they don't! They lie! I have already pair $400 to have the oven repaired and now they want me to pay a proration to get another GE oven THAT THEY DESTROYED! NO WAY! GE is not the company it used to be. Run, don't walk, away from GE products!
Answer: SCAM! $800 EXPEND IN LESS THEM 4 YEARS AFTER MOVE IN A NEW HOME WITH GE APPLIANCES-GARB COMPACTER, ICE MAKER AND NOW, THE WATER FILTER HEAD... PURE SCAM... PRODUCTS ARE MADE TO BREAK!
Answer: Yes. I have repeatedly experienced this problem for the past 5 years on my 5 year old GE Refrigerator. Using your fist or a mallet, strongly tap on the fan's surround to break ice free. It will quiet down. However, a quality appliance would not require this type of user intervention. If it makes you feel better, I built a new house with all new GE appliances ( because we liked the slate color) and every single one has issues and has been a profound disappointment. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy GE. We learned the hard way.
Answer: I sure would entertain joining such an endeavor! They deserve to get a kick in the ass if you ask me.
