I purchased an over the range GE microwave and it broke 13 months later. I rarely used it except for heating leftovers and some frozen foods until one day I cooked three potatoes in a row so maybe 15 minutes or so and it just stopped working. I called service and agreed to pay the $99 charge. The service person came and said it would cost about $250.00 to fix which is just about what it costs to buy a new one. $99 down the drain. I will never buy a GE appliance of any kind again. How can a $250 microwave oven rarely used only last 13 months? Garbage, Model JVM3162RJ3SS.
I have had this cooktop/oven for less than a year, and while it worked, it was great. Paid $2228 for it and the induction cooktop stopped working. GE has been HORRIBLE... long hold times, takes forever to get a response. The tech took long time to come, then tells me he has the part ordered and I need to call GE to expedite the part.
Are you kidding me? Then the repair date gets cancelled as no parts! The message they leave tells me to call them again to expedite the repair! What... It's been months with no way to cook and now I can't cook Thanksgiving dinner and you dare to tell me I have to call to expedite the repair?! I am beyond frustrated. Don't do it. Looks good but is not an appliance that will last, and you can forget customer service. I wish I could give a minus rating.
I used to like GE. My stackable waher/dryer has an issue for the 3rd time in 10 months. GE says ok that a super load fills halfway and to set it on super for everything. Why are there multiple settings then? The microware steams up on the outside and runs onto the stove. Same with the dishwasher. Water streaks down the front. The repairs have been here twice for for each of those.
GE DOES NOT HONOR WARRANTIES. THEY BLOW YOU OFF AND KEEP SENDING WARRANTY RENEWALS. Never buy from them again!
Got a5 burner ge stove with steam clean oven. Hate it! Buttons already don't work after 6 months. Steam clean is worthless! Wipe down after every use and steam clean for the tough stuff. Still have to scrub then still doesn't come completely clean. Hate this stove and oven!
$4300.My ge washer dryer set burned up at 3 years. So ge offers a buy back. Another $1309. They gave me a list to pick from. I order silver because the white yellows after a year just the plastic. They sent me what they had not what I paid for. They said too bad. I didn't pay for these I paid for a much higher quality and effective washer dryer set. I have to crawl on the floor to get my clothes out I told them I'm old that's why I had PEDESTALS They want another $700 for them. I still want what I ordered What I had what they gave me.

When I went to fold my 4 loads of laundry all was ruined as my clothes sheets and comforter all ruined with oil stains I have been waiting since mid September for this to be fixed Finally my parts come in and have to wait almost another month to have it repaired I have had to lug my wash to a laundry mat for all this time All customer service can say is I understand how you feel. I tried to go to a manager and no help I pleaded to them to just send me a new washer I asked them who is going to replace all my ruined things they say they don't do that save yourself the headache and dont buy ge appliances
Bought a brand new home in NH and builder supplies all GE Profile appliances. We had no choice in the matter. If we had we would have NEVER purchased GE. That being said Profile was suppose to be GE's "upscale" product. We were thinking positive. Product in question is Built in Profile microwave which is not even 3 months old. Top corner piece just broke off. Plastic apparently, and JUNK. I assumed GE would stand behind a new product. But nope. They only cover (what they say) cosmetic for 7 days after purchase. What a scam. It is model #PEB7227AND. My advice is stay away. There are much better products out there. Looking forward (not) for my dishwasher, refrigerator, stove and range hood (all GE) to die soon. Hope this advice saves someone making a poor choice and a whole lot of $$$ for a crap product(s)
GE products are GARBAGE! From day one the freezer was producing frost in it. Called and scheduled for repair apt would be 2 weeks later. Tech came out was not here 2 minutes said "he would have items sent to house", then he would come back and do the repair. 1 month went by called again, no parts had ever arrived. GE says they don't know what happened. Scheduled another tech to come out for ice machine stopped working, tech says he'll have the part mailed, no part every came. Tech came out again because cold air is coming out of water dispenser/ice area. Problem now he says is main board, What the heck 2 months old and the main board is out. Ordered part, part is on back order November, now they called and parts 3 total to repair a new fridge all on back order until December! Buy Anything other than GE, apparently they sold to a Chinese company and the products are Trash/Garbage!
They charged me $3.50 and another $3.50 for shipping a screw. It still hasn't arrived 1 month later. It is coming from Kansas to Phoenix. 2 calls and an email and still waiting...
Bought 3 appliances 2 have needed to be repair, customer service was great with the fridge, dryer is another story I have had the repair guy out here three times only to tell me the first time it was a defective dryer. He fixed it month later it dies on me with the same department so I rescheduled the appointment. They keep on pushing the appointment date back, they have done it three times because the part is on back order, been very patient with this. Today was the last straw I had my appointment time change four times today because they couldn't locate the part, only to reschedule it again a week out. I've been without a dryer for three month and have had to take my clothes to the laundromat in the middle of a Covid pandemic. You think your buying a quality product, but when 2 out of the three appliances break down you kind of realize the product and company is not good Anymore which is sad. When talking to customer service I asked to speak with a manager only to be told the manager couldn't help me I need to call back and speak to dispatch tomorrow. So sad a great company has gone down hill so far
Omg! GE APPLIANCE customer service is HORRIBLE! My dishwasher is ONLY 5 months old! I contacted the BBB and made a formal complaint! AWFUL! They are so awful! They are horrible! The wait on the phone to even talk to someone has cost me 4 hours of my life! Guess what? I'm still waiting on the phone while I write this and while I wrote the formal complaint with the BBB! Do your self a favor do not buy GE!
We had a burner installed in one section of our stove, and that alone cost us $346. Very expensive and ridiculous price just to have a burner installed! I told the guy fixing our stove why he was charging so much, and he replied that if I wanted the price to be cheaper that I should do it myself. I definitely will never be purchasing anything here again and don't recommend their services!
Window unit lasted 6 days and the replacement lasted two days short of 4 and a half months. Customer support took a week to even talk to me and refused to give me a refund because they said that was not an option. Page 17 of the user manual says that a refund is an option so they are going against the user manual that came with the AC unit.
If I could give them minus 5 stars I would! Pay 3K for a refrigerator that went out after 10 months! GE Service guy came out and misdiagnosed the main board as the problem and it is NOT! Now we have to wait another week for him to come out again! 2 weeks now Without a fridge and will be at least 2 more weeks waiting!
We now have no choice and will pay out of pocket to have a appliance service Company come out to actually diagnose the true problem/part that went out!

I purchases a dryer from a local applicance store near my house. It took 3 weeks to get cause it was backordered. Pandemic they said. It arrive the delivery person turned it on and left. We used it a few times. Clothes never felt dry. Called applicance store. They said they would send out a cerified technician. He took 10 days to come to my house only to tell me it needed a new gas valve and he would have to order it. I am now on 4 weeks with NO dryer. Poor products, poor customer service, poor technical support. I will never buy another GE product as long as i am alive. IF i could give them a negative (* star) i would. How do you see me something for over $700 dollars and not care. I had to work over 40 hours of my life to pay for a piece of junk!
I BOUGHT THIS AT THE SAME TIME I BOUGHT A GE DRYER. THE DRYER HAS NOT WORKED FROM THE GET GO. AND NOW THE WASHING MACHINE IS NOT WORKING.
Purchased model home with all GE appliance so all warranties were no longer valid. Water from fridge stopped working and had GE service tech come out on Aug 5 who ordered parts that were back ordered, but not too long. Came back out on Aug 27 and still didn't work. Ordered two more parts that were on back order even though he told me that he believed that would not fix the problem. I asked him why order the parts if he didn't think it would work. He said just to rule it out. I called GE mid Sept and said the parts would be in the warehouse on Oct 5 and would ship to use after that date. I called GE on Oct 13 and said I still have not received the parts and the first person said the parts are no longer on back order and in the warehouse waiting for the label to be printed. I asked to speak to someone else and she just gave me to a different agent who told me the parts were still on back order and didn't know when they would be in to the warehouse. She said she could leave a message with dispatch but could not give me their number, but ultimately did not give them my message as I have yet to hear from them. She said I should speak with Consumer Relations and gave me their number. I called the next day on Oct 14 to find out you can't speak with anyone unless you have a case number. Sooooo, I called customer service again to find out that the parts were on back order and "expected" to be in the warehouse on Oct 19, but that was not certain and could change. I told her about Consumer Relations and she said the ONLY way to get a case number was to be forwarded by customer service... well... I've been on hold now for 40 minutes and counting at this point. If I hang up, no case number. I could be on hold for hours...

My GE Cafe double oven gas range is done. It is not repairable any more because GE chose to stop making the part it needs (a wiring harness) and it is only 8 years old. This range was over $2,000 8 years ago. After the range was torn apart and put back together on Sept 29, it started leaking gas from a valve at one of the burner knobs. We called GE and a technician came back out Sept 30, to determine where the gas was leaking. He then ordered the parts to be delivered October 7, which when fixed would allow me to use at least the oven until I could decide how to proceed and light the stove top burner with a bic style lighter. The parts did not arrive in time so the technician was rescheduled for October 12. He arrived today only to discover only 1 part had been sent and the other part was cancelled from the order! After a phone call, he said the part was in stock in their inventory so I asked why GE would not overnight the part and have him come back Oct 13? He said that was not possible. I'm told GE does not "expedite" anything. So, the soonest they could come back is October 19! Between 4 hours on the phone, it takes an hour to get through, taking 4 half days from work so far, they will offer to provide a pro-rated price on a new model. I then decided to call back and a person said she would try and help me. After another hour on hold this afternoon, she never came back on the line so at 1 hour, 2 minutes and 34 seconds, I hung up. Lastly, we have a GE Profile refrigerator that had the compressor go bad within the first 5 years. Lucky for us, it was under warranty, but it took 4 service calls for GE to finally admit it was the compressor and replace it. No more GE appliances for us. The company accountability and support simply do not meet our standards or expectations.
I purchased a GE dryer July 2017 and middle of September 2020 the dryer stopped working. It is no longer under the manufacture warranty. Luckily I purchased extended warranty through Excellence plus. The service though Costco excellence sucks. I am still waiting for the part to come and and then someone to come and fix it. Never purchase the Excellence plus very bad service through them and their service centres.
Chewbacca is living in my GE Washer, I wish I could attach a video as I have one on You Tube that has sound of the terrible noise my 4 year old GE washer is making. It actually started over a year ago, then it stopped for no apparent reason now it started back up 10-7-2020. I'll be damned if I'm going to spend any more money with GE to repair this POS and certainly won't buy their appliances in the future. From what I read online it is the MAIN Bearing under the drum and somewhat of a total teardown of the appliance. Oh though I long for the days when and old Whirlpool lasted 15-20 years, alas I feel those days are gone and I fear shall never return.
Answer: SCAM! $800 EXPEND IN LESS THEM 4 YEARS AFTER MOVE IN A NEW HOME WITH GE APPLIANCES-GARB COMPACTER, ICE MAKER AND NOW, THE WATER FILTER HEAD... PURE SCAM... PRODUCTS ARE MADE TO BREAK!
Answer: Yes. I have repeatedly experienced this problem for the past 5 years on my 5 year old GE Refrigerator. Using your fist or a mallet, strongly tap on the fan's surround to break ice free. It will quiet down. However, a quality appliance would not require this type of user intervention. If it makes you feel better, I built a new house with all new GE appliances ( because we liked the slate color) and every single one has issues and has been a profound disappointment. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy GE. We learned the hard way.
Answer: I sure would entertain joining such an endeavor! They deserve to get a kick in the ass if you ask me.
