Never will I buy any this product again. Very bad experience I had. My home almost burn down. The stone caught fire, the glass face start cracking. Now I don't have stone to cook.
I can't even begin to tell you how bad the Profile appliances are. I filled my newly remodeled kitchen with all GE Profile equipment. Quite expensive stuff I might add. Within 30 days the knobs on the stove were peeling, the stove screen area bubbling. 1 year and 1 day the microwave stopped working and had to be replaced. 1 year and 15 days the dishwasher crapped out and had to be replaced. 3 years later my $3000 fridge is not working. Total garbage! When I say replaced I mean on my own dime, GE was of ZERO help! Run, run as fast as you can away from this company!
Spend $3300 on this GE Cafe fridge and is totally garbage! It freezes my item, makes noises, nothing fits in the fridge and when you do fill it up the company says that the reason I am having problem is because it's to full! The rubber around the freezer door had to be replaced, handle was falling off and the water dispenser does t always work. Don't bother with GE! Never again am I buying anything from them. No customer service and no finding a solution for the problem.
I purchased and had a GE Water Softener installed by my plumber. The display has not worked since day one. Display part on back order. I have paid $1,270 for a non working water softener.
March of 2019 we bought the top-of-the-line Monogram appliances for our kitchen: double oven, stove top, dishwasher, speed oven/microwave, and café' refrigerator. Within one week of instillation, we had problems with the refrigerator and within 9 months all appliances had at least 2+ service calls on them to where each service call required parts to be replaced. Less than 2 years later all dishwasher baskets are rusted through. Never have I had a dishwasher rust; especially a high-end and fairly new one. The refrigerator had so many service calls I lost count; at least 2 a month with most being the same problem: the refrigerator section was freezing all food. Each time a service man would come out he would try something new, eventually just replacing what he replaced the time before. After the one year was up and with so many calls in on all the appliances we were forced, in a way, to buy into an extended warranty plan. It was good that we did for there were more service calls on the appliances and the refrigerator was freezing food continually. The service calls for the freezing problem on the refrigerator were occurring 2 to 3 weeks apart. A Service man would come "fix" the problem, 2 weeks later food would begin to freeze and a week later a service man would come out replace parts for the freezing problem only to have the same thing occur 2 weeks later. Today after the 11th service call in less than a year the service repair department of GE declared our refrigerator requiring excessive part replacements and thus has well exceeded the cost of the refrigerator. GE service department will no longer come out for the refrigerator, thus putting in a case number for the extended warranty company to decide what to do next. We are told most likely nothing will be done to right this wrong. It has been a nightmare from day one with GE refusing to honor their products and I know why. Their products are poor quality and do not last. Thus, we are out the high expense of buying GE high end appliances, the high cost of an extended warranty, the cost of all the food damaged from freezing, and the time and money lost from taking off work so many times throughout the almost 2 years.
Our fridge stopped working in December. I scheduled service online and received a message saying they would be there next day between 8 and 12. We'll in reality, it was a week before rapid appliance repair could come. Then they have no stock parts, are in and out in 10 minutes and say they have to order components covered under warranty. Well the part takes a week. Then an extra week on top of that to schedule the appointment for repair. They only come out on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Meanwhile I have two twin babies and a pregnant wife, we've thrown away over $500 in groceries and don't have a second fridge. One week after the repair, I'm now throwing another $500 worth of groceries away because it's not working again. I could have bought a replacement at this point. This is ridiculous, and the service has been poor from the very begging when I was mislead on my appointment the the GE rep was rude to me and told me I had to take it up with rapid appliance repair the company GE selected for me. I wish I would have known this prior to spending thousands updating my entire home with GE Profile Appliances (microwave, double ovens, dishwasher, range cooktop, washer and dryer, drawers, fridge, etc.) Is there any interest from GE whatsoever in making this right? Or am I at a loss or in for another 3 week journey because I picked the wrong appliances to furnish my home?
I love GE appliances but the washer I bought this summer is terrible! Don't buy a top load with an agitator. If you put more than just a few items in it it won't balance. Doing laundry involves standing at the washer to continuously balance it. It was easier helping my grandmother with the old wringer washer she pulled out to the back yard!
Can't post honest review anywhere on actual GE website, they sensor your posts. Dryer stopped heating before a year was up. Their warranty is useless, they send you to a warranty company that schedules work with the worst service providers, they don't show, and when you call them they tell you they have to call you back. GE themselves told us they would call back 3 different times, never did and every time we called back the line was mysteriously disconnected. They had our phone number but never bothered to call back. Don't buy these products unless you do not care about the warranty.
Today, we had a window between 1pm - 5 pm for a GE Tech to come and repair our GE Dishwasher. At 1:09 pm i get a call on my cell in which I couldn't pick up (I was on a work call). At 1:13 i heard my voicemail and the GE Tech says "hello this is GE" I can't get in your community due to the gate is closed. He first of all, doesn't leave his first name on my voicemail and then he leaves me a 1-800-GE-Cares number to call back. Hello! Why not leave me your direct business line cell vs having me call a 800 # and now have to go through the automated motions. So i called the 800 number and finally after 5 minutes, i get through to a customer service rep. She was really nice and apologetic. I told her - Listen, i'm here working at home, why does the tech driver try to look for our community intercom or wait a few minutes and wait for a call return. Plus why did he leave me a 800 number to call back? He put me at a clear DISADVANTAGE by not leaving me his direct work number. INCOMPTENT TECH! We been waiting for almost 4 weeks now on getting his dishwasher fixed. Now we have to wait another 2 weeks for the next available appt. Shame on GE. Poor business model. This is not how you retain customers. I will never buy a GE product again.
They don't care for their customers. Their appliances have frequent problems and when you call their technician then they over charge and don't even explain the problem. Never buy GE products again.
Allow me to describe our experience with a GE appliance. We purchased a GE dishwasher from Home Depot on 12/19/19, receipt attached for reference. On 12/19/20, the machine took a dive and we called in for a warranty service, which did not take place until 12/28/20. Nine days later, if you're counting. The tech arrived on the 28th and spent no more than 5 minutes looking at the machine before declaring we had a plumbing issue and left as quickly as possible. Needless to say, the machine was still not repaired and was still leaking from the bottom. Mind you, this was no small amount of water, either. We called again to complain and were told the soonest a tech would be back to do a repair would be 1/7. Eight more days with a broken machine. The day arrives and I get a call from the tech, immediately I inform him he will be required to run and fully test the machine before leaving. Without missing a breath, he says "can't do that, not enough time." I complain loudly about what happened before as well as how many hours I've already spent trying to get someone to provide service. He hangs up, calls me back a 1/2 hour later to tell me he called CR. Cancels the repair appointment and tells me CR will call me back later that day to provide a resolution. Did they call? No. Not the day after either. Did I mention I've spent hours with this BS already? What kind of operation is this? Frankly, based on my experience, I'm surprised they have any customers left. Believe me, I've had enough and I'm headed for the door with this experience. I give GE a poor grade on everything, customer service, repairs, response times, communication, willingness to go the extra step, etc, etc. I'm giving serious thought to sending this machine to their offices wrapped with this email so everyone who views it knows what the package is about.
GE customer support will not allow us to update the shipping address of our appliances. The appliances have not yet left GE but for some reason they can't edit the shipping address? This makes no sense to me. GE expects me to bring my own box truck to pick up appliances and move them down the road to my house. Terrible support. The person my partner was connected with was about to cancel our order and make us re order without any discount which would also place us at the back of the line for shipping and delay our home closing date. We were told from the same customer service team that updating the shipping address would be no problem when we placed the order. What a terrible experience.
I bought a GE Profile which was delivered on December the 18th 2020. It arrived with scratches and a large dent in the door. Upon using it I discovered that there was something frighteningly wrong with the convection setting. I called but could not get a tech to the house until January the 6 of 2021. The service tech came and it needs five parts which he told me would take 4 or 5 weeks to receive. I called the store I purchased it at (Gomen's) to complain. At this point I just want to return the stove and purchase something that works but there is a no return policy and I now I have a $2700 piece of junk that won't work right for at least a month. Please do not buy any GE Products their customer service IS GARBAGE!
We bought a GE washer/dryer set in October 2019. It quit on us in Jan 2021. Would not power up at all! Called Sears to check it out ($90) and found that the board is dead and it cost $600+ to replace it! The dryer was over $800 about 14 months old! We will never buy another GE product again! Don't waste your money on GE!
We have been paying for GE Extended warranty, first to GE, then involuntarily, switched to Assurant since 2003.
1st services were great, then it went bad, now it is the worst ever.
They have been delaying on the parts.
They don't contact you when they can not get parts for 2 months.
They simply expect the consumer to suffer without a vital appliance like your refrigerator.
If you are thinking about buying a GE Monogram appliance, DON'T.
We purchased a new home 3 years ago, we are in our 70's. These are some of the worst appliances I have owned and it's been many. We have had repairs and needed parts on all of them. The fridge a new fan, $280, A hood part for the microwave 175 after a discussion with a customer service parts person. The knob dial skirts on the stove are all warped and melted 6 of them at $13 each. It's only 2 people so these appliances are not abused. Would never get another GE product and have told many people not to either.
Fridge freezer stopped dispensing ice after 6 months. The repair lasted 2 months. Then the $2400 cookstove stopped working after 9 months. Been fighting GE ever since to get them repaired. Couldn't cook over two holiday periods.
Blocked from their Facebook site because they hate the truth.
Terrible company and terrible products. Essentially what I have is $4800 worth of scrap.
I bought a GE Monagram gas Range in 2018 I paid $9,000 for it the oven broke down 5 times in a year and a half i kept having the same problem and the service man had to come with a new part to fix it which took about a month every time, they finally replaced it with a new one now im having the same problem i have no oven to cook with for the holidays. The worst costumer service and the worst product i have ever bought. DO NOT BUY GE.
Had to replace our built-in combination microwave/wall oven in our house back in March. They are not cheap and not many of them available. We did lots of research and chose a GE product. Not only do we feel ripped off, we have to listen to a loud rattling noise every time we use the microwave. Tried to have it serviced via the warranty but the first guy that came out knew nothing about the product and had to reschedule us. That was a wasted day off work! Then a team came out, pulled it out and said they had to order a part they think it needs. Another wasted day off work! Then they bring the part, install whatever it was, tested it and it was quiet - for a few days. I want to take it back and find a different one but with all this pandemic crap going on and the hassle it was to get it in the first place not sure my husband wants to bother.
I Purchased NEW a GE refrigerator for over 2K after one year almost to the year the Compressor went out and GE Refused to cover it, The appliance repair man said the compressor was more than half the cost of the refrigerator itself. I can't Express how Much I hate GE and how they treat there customers. Please Buy any product besides Ge and Pass this on to your Friends! No one should go thru this.
Answer: SCAM! $800 EXPEND IN LESS THEM 4 YEARS AFTER MOVE IN A NEW HOME WITH GE APPLIANCES-GARB COMPACTER, ICE MAKER AND NOW, THE WATER FILTER HEAD... PURE SCAM... PRODUCTS ARE MADE TO BREAK!
Answer: Yes. I have repeatedly experienced this problem for the past 5 years on my 5 year old GE Refrigerator. Using your fist or a mallet, strongly tap on the fan's surround to break ice free. It will quiet down. However, a quality appliance would not require this type of user intervention. If it makes you feel better, I built a new house with all new GE appliances ( because we liked the slate color) and every single one has issues and has been a profound disappointment. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy GE. We learned the hard way.
Answer: I sure would entertain joining such an endeavor! They deserve to get a kick in the ass if you ask me.
