Nightmare Range
December 16, 2021

I purchased a very expensive GE range, the Profile 5.3 cu. Ft. Electric Range with Steam-Cleaning Convection Oven and Air Fry. For the price, we expected nothing but exceptional performance. We've had other GE ranges we were very happy with and couldn't believe the performance of this one. This range is not self-cleaning although it was advertised as so where we purchased it. It only steam cleans and make no mistake, it does not clean. After using the steam cleaning a couple of times, the oven floor warped something terrible. It was still under warranty so we arranged for an exchange since it could not be fixed.

What happened next was a nightmare.
1)The first range sent was obviously used, wrapped very poorly and scuffed up so we refused it.
2) A second range was ordered and delivered. It looked fine on the outside but when installed the display was defective.
3) It was decided that the part could be replaced. I agreed to this but when the part was sent, no one at GE was acknowledging that it had been sent and needed installing other than to say the part wouldn't be available til late December. At some point, since service was very slow, I asked that a tech be sent to see if the part sent to my home could be installed. It turned out to be the wrong part. The tech ordered another part based on the model number. We received it but again it was the wrong part.
4) Another third part was ordered. This time, it wouldn't be available til the end of January. I agreed rather than have GE buy the range back because we figured that, although it would take time, it would be an easy fix and we wouldn't be left without a range while trying to purchase another.
5) A couple days after this, when I decided to use the air fry, it didn't work. I also suspect that the oven doesn't heat up to the appropriate temperature because it took far longer than usual to cook a chicken.

The above are just some of the problems I encountered. Their customer service created 2 different case numbers causing a huge disconnect with contradicting responses by e-mail. It turned out to be very frustrating.

In summary, I've taken just as much as I can stand with this company over quite a stretch of time. This time, I have asked that they honor their prior offer of buying it back. At this time, it still needs approval although it had been approved previously.

Never again.

Broke after 11 months
December 15, 2021

Hey, so my he refrigerator broke 2 days before Thanksgiving ( 11/23/21). The repair finally got done today 3 weeks later. This ruined my Thanksgiving. I had to go out and buy a small fridge to make it through. This is completely unacceptable. Don't think I'm going to purchase anymore GE products. Not happy

I understand why the average rating for GE is one star. If no stars was an option, I would have selected it. I moved into a brand new home with brand new GE Profile appliances. The vent hood came with a remote. After determining it wasn't the battery I called GE customer care. A GE tech came out and determined the remote was bad and had assigned me a case number and referred it to GE customer care. He indicated I that customer care would be contacting me in a couple of days, but if not to call them. After a few days went by I called and was on hold for 30 minutes. When I finally got through to someone I was told that the remote had been discontinued and there wasn't a substitute. One year old appliance that is no longer supported. Because I hadn't noticed that the remote was bad within my 7 day grace period I was SOL and offered a hundred dollars as compensation. I politely, at first, said I wasn't interested in the $100, I wanted a replacement. Which escalated to take it or leave it. I am done with GE products and customer service. Spend your money elsewhere if you can.

*NEVER* BUY GE
December 14, 2021

Is a zero star rating possible? Unfortunately the new house we bought has all GE appliances. Only 2 of us so not used heavily. The dishwasher is totally dead 2 yrs later. Independent repair service replaced main control board for a total of $300. It worked maybe 3 times and now dead again. I'm waiting for my new Bosch to arrive while hand washing dishes.
A GE washing machine in vacation home is maybe 3 yrs old and only used a few months out of the year by the 2 of us and now repairman says I need a new one. It has always walked all over the room in spin mode and easily off balance with more than 3-4 bath towels. Finally stopped spinning completely. The repairman says an aluminum "arm" has bent and the transmission is leaking oil. A neighbor had the same experience with a GE washing machine.
Calling GE for service resulted in waiting weeks for a repair appointment so I went with independent repair service.
Expensive ppliances should last more than 2-3 years!

I purchased this washer/dryer combo less than 18 months ago. It has been fine up until now. The washing machine comes on by its self and will not respond to any control knob positions. The only option is to unplug the machine. I am very disappointed with my purchase. If I had known of its poor reliability I would never have purchased it in the first place. The 1 year warranty is worthless to me.

Bought GE Profile refrigerator, double oven, dishwasher and stovetop in 2019. After two and a half years, the plastic parts are beginning to break. This week, the hinge cover on my refrigerator door just broke by opening the door. Also this week, the plastic wheel roller assembly on one of my dishwasher trays broke. Over the past two years, the a cheap painted stove top knobs have worn off? THESE PARTS ONLY HAVE A ONE YEAR WARRANTY. Only two of us live in my house. For all of the money I spent on these appliances, I expected better performance and more importantly, better service from GE. I would not recommend these products, if you're buying new kitchen appliances.

Absolutely horrible experience. I am unable to reach anyone via chat or phone regarding my order. I did not receive any call about a delivery timeframe. The order was dropped off even though the order included installation and removal of an older appliance. All of their phone numbers do not work. I will NEVER order from them again. 0 stars.

We got a new model GFE24 in mid June, it wouldn't get below 39 degrees. Most of the time it hovers around 41 degrees. The selling dealer came out 4 times to no avail, GE said replace it. We got another unit in September. Guess what, its just like the other one. The selling dealer suggested I ask GE to send some one out from A&E in case he was over looking something. A&E was out twice and decided to order a new board and sensor, the parts were shipped direct to me. We waited thru two missed appointments from A&E. I called GE and was told that service order has been finished, yet the news parts are still in the box they were shipped in. GE and A&E's service sucks as does the refrigerator. All I want now is my money back so I can buy a brand that works. GE says they have the right to fix it and they say the service order is closed yet here we sit with the second refrigerator that doesn't work, the selling dealer has one on there showroom floor and three other customers with the same problem. Shame on GE and A&E.

December 6, 2021

Moved into a new construction home with Ge appliances. GE came out 3 times because the piece in-between the oven and stove top gets so hot that it burnt my stomach. Finally the home builders stepped and it was upgrades but this New Ge stove gets soo hot.

I purchased GE top-load digital washing machine in early 2019. It is a large capacity, however, will only fill to approximately one-third of the tub with water. I have put clothes in this washing machine and set it on " autofill. " it should automatically add adequate water. Believe me when I tell you that the top of the clothes won't be submerged in water. If you want more water you must stand there as it will add only one gallon at a time after you push a button. So if you want to add another three gallons of water you will be standing there for like 10 minutes while it fills 1 gal, push the button, 1 gal, push the button, one gallon, push the button. So on and so forth. This machine while two and a half years old is starting to rust around the seams. This machine easily goes out of balance. The lid lock takes 2 minutes to unlock if you want to throw something else into a load of wash. So... Again you are standing there forever just to throw an additional item into your wash load. This is the biggest disappointment I have ever experienced. I wanted to buy American that's why I bought GE. As I understand it they aren't even made in America. I'm not positive about that but that is what my research turned up.

Don't waste your hard earned money!
December 3, 2021

Don't waste your time with GE appliances. I bought an expensive GE dishwasher with steam, disposal and etc. It lasted 2 1/2 years then developed a major leak that that went through the floor and into my basement. It was out of warranty, of course, so I bought another one that wasn't nearly as expensive because quiet frankly, I couldn't afford anything better. This one didn't last a year and still has warranty. They scheduled a tech to come out 2 weeks later for the 19th and the tech said it was a manufacturers defect that damaged the motor and timer. Of course he didn't have the parts for this 'common' problem so he ordered them and had them delivered to my address and rescheduled for the 1st. Another 2 weeks. They sent a different tech this time that managed to make the problem worse. He damaged the timer knob apparently with a pair of pliers not to mention the knob sticks way out of place now. He also managed to screw up the latch so the door won't stay closed. He also damaged the inside of the door apparently with a screwdriver trying to remove a vent. He also managed mess up the detergent dispenser door so that it won't shut. Now the dishwasher won't get the top rack wet and won't heat the water. Now the dishwasher looks and acts like something I bought at a garage sale. I have lost 2 days work that is more money than I paid for the dishwasher and now have to wait until the 17th for another technician to show up and I guarantee you all these issues won't be taken care of. GE appliances and their repair service is the absolute worst service experience I have ever had. So much for buying American unfortunately.

I am going to find every review site I can. Not only did their dishwasher break, the warranty is worthless because it has been more than 2 weeks without a dishwasher and no one has come to fix it despite numerous calls. Someone came one time and then said we needed a part. We received the part and no one showed up and instead said it will be another week even though I showed proof they were coming today. I don't have proof of purchase because we bought the house with the dishwasher and transferred warranty.

We had problems with this stove since we got it. We had about 2/3 times where someone has to come out and fix it. This last time one of the stove tops did not work, the guy comes to fix it and then while hes here none of the stove tops work no more. He orders another part and it takes like 2 weeks for him to come back. He came today and fixed it, he leaves and I go to to turn the stove top on and nothing is working again. We are a big family and obviously need the stove. We bought the extended warranty for a reason. We have not had a working stove for the past month month and a half. We call to see what we can do as the guy left our house not even 15 minutes ago and not we cant get another appointment until 2 weeks from today. This is a joke GE appliances do better my parents are so mad. I understand you guys are busy but you havnt been able to fix our stove for the past month. And you continue to push our appointments back. This is a literal joke.

Poor product and poor service
December 1, 2021

I bought a hot point washer and dryer less than six months ago. The washer has since been repaired once. Now the dryer does not work. Five different parts have to be replaced in the dryer. And this is only after normal use for two people in less than six months. I had to wait two weeks to get the parts and have the service call scheduled. The parts arrived. However, GE appliance reschedule the service appointment because they didn't know the parts had arrived. I tried to get them to keep the original appointment but they could not do it for some reason. A washer and dryer should not need repairs when they are only six months old. I will never again by a GE product. Very disappointed with the quality and the service. The only people who seem to know what they are doing are the repairmen who actually make the repairs on the product. The repairmen are excellent and well qualified. But apparently no one else a GE is.

This review is completely about GE customer service and warranty, not so much the washer. We purchased a washer from Lowes, GE brand 5 months ago, all of a sudden it completely stopped working. 8 weeks later & the washer still isn't fixed. Part was delayed, then GE just didn't show for the service appt to install when it finally came in. We had to hire someone outside of GE to come in, they installed the part that was apparently the issue - nothing fixed. GE said it would be another week before someone would be out to even guess the next solution or part needed. At this point we're without a washer for 2 months (a 5 month old washer at that & still under warranty). We beg for them to just give us a new washer. How much longer can we go without a washer? We desperately turned to Lowes who was out of their 30 day warranty but who graciously had better customer service than GE and they offered to refund us the washer if we bought a new one through them. There was a price difference of $125.05 between the two washers due to a sale at the time we originally bought the first washer, therefor we had to pay out of pocket $125 to get a new washer when it should have been covered and fixed by GE warranty. GE refused our request to refund us the difference and we are just utterly disgusted. 2 months without a washer and a company who didn't owe us a warranty found a solution before the company who we are actually in warranty with, could. Now they refuse to help with the difference in cost? HORRIBLE customer service. Will never buy another GE appliance simply to avoid this issue ever happening again. And would recommend you avoid doing the same. You can't count on them to do anything and certainly not in a timely manner.

Crap Chinese company
November 27, 2021

Customers of Go Elsewhere products might want to know that they were purchased by the Chinese in 2016. Anyway, we purchased a freezer and while under warranty it began leaking refrigerant. To make a long story short, they refuse to fix it or refund our money. Their solution is for us to purchase another of their crap products and get a "good will rebate" after we send the paperwork off by mail! My written warranty says they will repair or replace, not a rebate that may be like $25 or who knows. Don't purchase anything from Go Elsewhere, as this company has no problems lying, cheating, committing fraud, or breaching written contracts. It took the Chinese to provide us poor quality, but apparently American greed to bring in a total lack of integrity, for a totally hideous product!

Bought a nice build-in Cafe from GE paid a lot and broke in less than 3 years. When the technician came out he was rude and said it will cost me over $500 to fix my microwave. I might as well invest in another Brand microwave with that kind of cost to fix it! GE should stand by its product. My old microwave I had for 10 years and still works like new! Very disappointed with GE! I don't recommend buying GE.

Built in microwave so must stick to this horrible brand. 3 years ago my entire kitchen was done in ‘slate'. No way to color match other brands. The hinge on the oven failed and cannot be fixed, tried for 6 months. Lemon! Hinge is in door, not body of stove, impossible to fix with 5 repairmen giving up! Buying a different brand, all I get from GE ‘customer service' is apologies. Never buy GE!
